I'm glad we've come to an agreement on Parayko. We don't want to move him and the Leafs don't want him anymore. That was a good time.

Glad we can agree. Peeke sucks and too early to move Jenner. Maybe next year or the year after but not with 3 years left.

What the Leafs so desperately need is a top notch d-man who's good at everything.
Can defend really well, had good physicality, skates well, has good offense and can play ideally 22 minutes + per night.

"His underlying numbers are crazy!"
I love Ferraro and I'm sure most of his poor results can be chalked up to being on the 2023 2024 San Jose Sharks, but I'd definitely pass if that was the price. Wouldn't do Niemela for Ferraro straight up

Allen would not be a starter over woll. Niemella is more than a nothing prospect as some still project him as an NHL dman potential top 4 most likely top 6. But yes Monahan is an upgrade Domi. I would trust Domi a little more offensively, but the 3rd line also sees a lot of defensive assignments and Monahan greatly outperforms Domi defensively. Savard would not help as McCabe is getting better. Liljegren is better, Reilly is better. Also Giordano, Benoit, lagesson and Timmins gives us 4 dman more than capable of patrolling the 4 to 8 d man range for minutes. ( Yes I would prefer a better top 4 among them but Savard for his salary and expectations would not improve the Leafs.

Can’t see the Leafs & Habs as trading partners and maybe you’re just exaggerating because it is Leafs & Habs, but Savard is not (or at least should not be) on any competitive team’s wish list this TDL. He is really not good and has another year

If I were the Leafs I wouldn’t bet on a prayer in net again. Not saying Binnington is the answer. But not doing anything is extremely risky.</div></div>
I'd personally rather do nothing. I think this team can't afford to hitch cap space to anybody that is a potential question mark...which Binnington definitely is.
Not saying Woll/Hidelby is the path to success...but they're both extremely low risk given the cap hit....and I just don't see an available goaltender on the market that is going to move the needle for me. So I'd rather do nothing for this year and then reassess in the offseason

Adding A Couple of Defencemen And Some Grit
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>man, you're really spun up about this eh? You literally never mentioned goaltending and the major point being discussed was grit. You jumped in to defend grit as a primary issue the leafs had during that series and I presented you with the actual reason, Bob playing out of his mind. If bob had been average the leafs would have won, it's that simple and Florida's grit never entered the equation.
As far as domi proof, well im just gonna say if you didnt protest it so hard then maybe it wouldnt be so obvious</div></div>
When Florida was down 3-1 in the Boston series it was Tkachuk who dragged that team to a comeback, not Bob. Tkachuk was the MVP of that run and he personifies grit.
Also, Bob wasn't really tested against the Leafs. The stars didn't show up.

What's your excuse for why Vegas won? Hill?
Come on, goaltending is a big part of it, but so is grit. When Colorado won, they won because of skill AND grit, with guys Iike Kadri, Nichushkin and Manson playing big roles.

Gritty teams like Florida and Vegas score goals in the playoffs, not teams that play on the perimeter like the Leafs. So grit does matter, A LOT.

Adding A Couple of Defencemen And Some Grit
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>weird how adding all that grit in the summer didnt help enough and the leafs keep needing more</div></div>
What grit did they add?
Domi doesn't hit. Klingberg was supposed to be a PP QB. Gregor is a speedster. And Bertuzzi is a top six forward. The only "grit" they added was a 37 year old enforcer. That's not good enough.
Treliving didn't do his job properly because he didn't understood that the major problems on this team were in the bottom six and the lack of defensive defencemen. Instead he wasted 12 million on two top six guys and a soft PP QB.

Not saying he's the problem but he's certainly not able to be an elite shutdown player, the results prove that.

the guy who scored 20 in his rookie season vs the guy with 2 points in 26 games. wild would be stupid to say no.
