In no way would the Wild give up the player with the higher ceiling even if Pinto has shown more in the NHL thus far

Rossi is a risk. He hasn’t shown much. Pinto had 20 goals as a rookie and projects to be a 2 way 2C . Who knows what Rossi will be at this point. He’s a risk

I think this is too high risk for Minnesota to hope that Rossi doesn’t reach his potential.

the guy who scored 20 in his rookie season vs the guy with 2 points in 26 games. wild would be stupid to say no.

Doesn’t matter Rossi has a higher ceiling and Minnesota has the time to wait and hope that he pans out. Pinto isn’t even playing hockey rn lol.

At the rate both players have developed, this is just false beyond belief. Pinto has done more in one season than in the 3 Rossi has been trying to generate some sort of an impact. People keep talking about Rossi's ceiling as if that ship hasn't already sailed.

"The wild need to hope he pans out", or the player who has already panned out.

No need to get rid of Kasty so soon. DJ loves him and he'll be better. If he were to get traded though, I'd bet Calgary would pay a 4th for him.

Pinto is a 2-3c already, Rossi hasn't even stuck yet. Even if he does, his ceiling has dropped, lower than Pinto anyway

    1) Minnesota is hoping that Rossi breaks out. They wont move him.
    2) Don’t think they will move a Potential 1st liner for a solid 2C
    3) They are literally working with 70M in cap because of the Suter-Parise buy out and Rossi at 800k for the next 2 years is going to be way more helpful than Pinto at 2.6M for the next 2 years.
    4) They still believe in him

Dude missed a full year due to sickness, has been pretty good in the AHL the last 2 seasons and hasn’t gotten a legit NHL shot yet at 22 but he’s a reclamation project?

Pinto played 17 games in the NHL before his breakout last season. Rossi played 21 NHL games before this season. Let’s wait and see what he does this season before claiming he’s a reclamation.

I'm kind of on the side with @dougford

Rossi hasn't done a whole lot of anything productive in the 26 games he's played. Has he looked decent so far? I guess? But to compare him to a player who just scored 20 in his rookie season would actually be criminal. He doesn't have that 1C pedigree he once did years ago when he was drafted. He still could be a decent middle 6 player, but Pinto has a higher ceiling while being an effective 2/3C... while Minnisota is still hoping Rossi can be that

Rossi 21 NHL games before this season after missing a full year due to sickness. Pinto had 17 games before last season. Your just claiming Pinto’s ceiling is higher because he’s a year ahead of Rossi.
