would this work if the Habs really want Hronek
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>If it’s secondary assets like this and freeing up some forward spots for the youngsters in this fashion they absolutely should</div></div>
If the trade included our "spare parts" like Barron, Harris, ect, and a couple of alright picks (late 1sts and 2nds), then ya, we should definitely consider it, but I do think it would require a premium asset, which may not be in the best interest looking at our timeline.

It could, MTL could trigger a trade for Hronek if they decided to compete next year, but I doubt they do

FLA needs to miss the playoffs for it to be top 10. But if they do, then its probably a top 5 pick

Iginla and Yakemchuk go high
Honestly, might be kinda "low" for Yak. With the RD demands this year, and him arguably being the 2nd best, if not the 3rd, wouldn't be surprised if he goes top 6.
As for Iggy, I think anywhere 5-10 is in range for him, but 5 is definitely the higher of his range ( I believe I have him 7 in my rankings as of today)

Absolutely a good deal in MTLs pov. The only thing I'll say is I believe (Although I could be wrong) Hronek isn't really an interest for MTL with Mailloux and Rein trending towards the right direction. I think it's just a Cap Friendly Idea that kinda blew up

Marner Tkachuk is it possible
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>I would not trade Tkachuk without a Quinn, Reinbacher , Nemec, Boldy etc coming back . It has to be a good young player or prospect with the potential to be a top pair / top line guy</div></div>
Even then, I wouldn't trade Tkachuk for Nemec and 2 late 1sts. Outta the guys you named, only Boldy would be enticing enough to have a deal to move Tkachuk, imo.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>What pisses me off is always the offers that are 2 late 1sts , a bottom 4 roster Dman and an undersized prospect tearing up the CHL in his D+2 and fans branding it as an amazing return</div></div>
Ya fr, people don't seem to realize that a guy as complete as Tkachuk and with a long-term contract as well is worth more than a regular player. It makes it funnier when a bunch of people value Tkachuk as 2 late first, but these same people say Zegras is worth a top 5 pick

Tkachuk is staying. Power forwards are worth much more than regular wingers, and even more when it's an 80 pt PF.

What you think
Pretty fair deal:
Anderson+Harris = PLD
Byfield+LAK 1st = Cole + 5th OA
MTL declines though, we could get Lindstrom in theory, who could be in the same tier as Byfield, while having Cole, who is a lot better than that LAK pick

Rebuild over
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mv21227</b></div><div>Seider has also been pretty underwhelming since his rookie year. Not completely out of the question that Reinbacher ends up better. I’m neither a Habs or Wings fan so speaking from an unbiased standpoint I’d definitely take Montreal’s young defense pipeline over Detroit’s</div></div>
I'll defend Seider here and say he's done his role perfectly. He puts up good points even if he isn't putting 50 pts, and is playing amazing defensively, also eating up good minutes (and is paired with bums a lot of times), but I do greatly appreciate your backup here!

Reworking the Dooby Doo
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ansabch12</b></div><div>Man you really have reading comprehension issues lmao
I said we would use the contract to reach the cap floor not that his value magically increases, so basically his value is better for us to keep him than pay him to play for someone else for some trash contract and get nothing in return.
Try to use your brain and think about in what way the Flames benefit from doing the trade in this ACGM.</div></div>
I don't think you connected the dots here very well my friend...
You said "Add your next 10 firsts and then it's a maybe lol" Obviously exaggerating, but believing Huberdea's contract isn't as much of a cap dump as he actually is.
You then talk about how you can use the contract to get to the cap floor, and how it can still be in play with competition, indirectly significant that the player's value is enhanced due to this situation, which it isn't.
All this is to come to the point that don't start calling people dumb when you missed part of the logic.
Anyways, cheers man

Detroit's D will be top 5 in the league within 5 years easily. Our forward and Goaltending are a country mile better than Montreals.</div></div>
Wallinder, Buium are literally worse than at least 6 of our guys and they're your #4-5. Kinda sad honestly. Hutson clears ASP. Guhle also clears Edvinsson. The only thing going for you is Seider, but with Mailloux and Reinbacher, plus the rest of the depth, we easily beat you guys.

Either way im sure you'll be objective and unbiased considering your username and comparison of Reinbacher to Josi :tearsofjoy</div></div>
You tryna cope or something? The value of a cap dump doesn't magically increase because "you can reach the cap floor". Easily the stupidest thing I've heard in a while, and u the one saying "If you were smart"

Find me a better young player pipeline in defense than: Guhle, Hutson, Mailloux, Reinbacher, Xhekaj, Harris, Struble, Barron, Engstrom, Bogdan Konyushkov. Highly doubt you find more than 2. Add along one of the best goalie prospects in the league, and Suzuki, Slaf, Caufield, Dach, Newhook, Roy, 2024 1st in the top 6 forward core.
Yeah, not sure there are many teams with a better future than us.
And EDM were the Buffalo of the past, so not really the norm
