The Sens must be at capacity for guys named after colours. They've already got 3 Brown's and a White, there's no room for Green too.

The 3 best PLD Trades
I really don’t get why the Jets are the ones adding to a Laine/PLD swap. A 50 goal threat with multiple 35+ goal years are more rare than 60 point centres (a mark PLD has only hit once). Laine seems far more valuable to me.

Unless I'm missing something with COL's prospect pool I don't think they'll be an A team. They have some nice prospects, yes, but all FWDs but Jost and Rantanen will UFAs before that season starts. They are in win now mode so they can't really trade away expiring contracts to gain futures and will be trading away what futures they do have for rentals.

I realize MacKinnion will be resigned. Their core isn't really young anymore, 4 guys 24 or younger, and 10 guys 28+ on the team. They have a few nice prospects, but that's mostly the d-corps and Newhook, nothing that stands out for goalies.
I don't trust Sakic to put together good teams for long. He did blow up a team 112p that had MacKinnion, Barrie, Duschene, ROR, and Landy all 23 or younger and won their Division and turned them into the tire fire of the 16-17 season.

Other than the Duschene trade he hasn't made many good trades either. Kadri was a fair trade. ROR was a bad trade. The rest have been minor things that haven't added up to much. Maybe the Towes trade ends up being good.
I think their window in the next 2-3 years and after that they'll be in cap hell with players hitting their 30s and keep pushing for that one last run with what they've had (like CHI and PIT have done the last few years).

I also think Toronto will experience a rude awakening by 23-24. Robertson, Sandin, and Liljegren will all be off their ELCs by then and Rielly and Andersen both need raises (significant raise in Rielly’s case, unless Sandin has developed to the point where he can fill 1D duties on a Sergachev-esque bridge deal, which is best case, and still likely results in Andersen walking, or one of Robertson/Liljegren/Nylander having to get dealt).
Montreal should also be better with the development of Suzuki/Kotkaniemi (likely established at LEAST as a 1C and 3C by then, likely 1C/2C), Caufield coming into the league, and Romanov likely becoming a top pair D by then. Weber may regress but it’s probable at least one of their plethora of D prospects will step up, and Primeau will be able to step in should Price falter.
LAK is pretty much in the same boat as Montreal, as long as Petersen is a bona fide starter. Byfield, Vilardi, Turcotte, Kaliyev, ****emo, Bjornfot, Clague should all be established by then, and I expect the first 3 plus Bjornfot (at least) to be legitimate stars. Should be a contender for sure.

3 line spread - lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PGHBOB69</b></div><div>After your POwer Play, call for your 3rd line now.
It’s why coaches don’t do that. You expose players to extremely long shifts or missing shifts and playing limited minutes when you should be playing that player a lot more minutes. And why would u want DeBrincat playing 3rd line minutes anyways??
Keep your PP guys on your 1st 2 lines. And PK guys on your bottom 2. Pretty simple coaching rule. It’s why coaches don’t do this. You arnt the 1st one to think of doing it or trying it. It doesn’t turn out well.</div></div>
Arizona did this with 3 relatively equal lines spread with somewhat equivalent ice time. I don't think Chicago has the offensive firepower to stack their lines and have enough depth. It works with the right players. It might work here, and boost guys like Wallmark, Highmore and Janmark in the process. In this case, the "2nd line", even though in this context the lines aren't meant to be numbered, would be the more defensive line.

You think that his options were:
1. Stay in boston, but with a more limited role.
2. Move to a new city for league min, probably still have a limited role.
Really? Seems pretty clear if those were his two options he would have signed with the bruins 6 weeks ago.</div></div>
I think it was more the bruins decided to not sign him and play younger players. They showed they had interest to the media but ultimately decided to not sign him. He wasn’t going to sign to sit.

This makes zero sense. You think he would rather leave boston, move during a pandemic, and probably play a limited role, than just play a limited role in boston?
They didn’t want him at all because their GM is laughably bad at his job

Prospect update - WCJ
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>1. What does being a Canadian fan have to do with seeing the truth? Caufield has played great in his limited ice time. Watch a game or two without the Habs bias and you will see just how good the kid really is.
2. Game against Germany #1 line Perfetti-McMicheal-krebs, game against Switzerland #4 line Perfetti-Newhook-Krebs. Yeah I watched the games you should try it.
3. I wasn't deflecting I was comparing Jets best prospect to Habs best prospect. Caufield started on the 4th line with Boldly and Beniers cause of chemistry, and was played only a few shifts with Zebras and Turcotte before being reunited on the 4th line with Boldly and Beniers. The U.S. coach likes to keep guys who have played together in the past on the same lines. I think he is kind of afraid to mess with what has worked before.
4. I am actually a big fan of all 3 of Perfetti, Caufield and Kaliyev all 3 are very good players and will have long NHL careers.</div></div>
Boldy-Beniers-Caufiled are U.S.A 2nd line
Kaliyev is horrid I don’t think he’ll be a regular at the NHL level

Don't troll cause you really are an amateur at it LMAO!!!</div></div>

If you are going to troll you better make damn sure that your best prospect is pulling his weight on the best team at the WJ's</div></div>
Perfetti is known for his playmaking, not goals...he also is playing wing.

He def looks cool, I wanted Byfield because he was for sure a centre but I think both players are the same level and Stutzle will be more fun to watch. We need a forward one. I think they move a Dman for a young solid winger in the next year or so.

I just don’t trust the direction of this team. They aren’t good enough to go far and too good to tank. They have some aging players and others close to UFA. Like change the direction. Either go 26 and under team with the exception of Price, Weber and Petry or try to add players and go All In.
