Ceci- fine. standard contract
Kerfoot, maybe a hair pricy, but sure, why not.
Marner--- wow, you have grossly over paid by like 3Million. He isnt worth even close to that. Marners best comparable: Aho- said he was worth 8.45/5. Great. But Aho same draft year, plays center, equal offensively, better defensively. What a comparable right there. Based mostly on position, some on defense, Marner is worth 8.25Mil/5.. 9.75/8.
We need to move past all the BS Ferris, Marner, Paul and Dregger and every other media member here... Dubas even said Aho affects Marner on an interview today...

Yeah. BangBang 100% correct.... finally all the lies and BS Ferris, Paul Marner, Dregger and the media have been saying are done. Aho is a center, same draft class, equal offensively, way better defensively and worth 8.45/5. (Thankyou GMMB). Mitch should now be worth a hair less on the same contract.(mostly due to position, some due to defense). 5 years... 8.25/5, 8.75/6 ish... sounds good to me

Thankyou
you are the first person all day that has a reasonable Marner signing... Aho set the bar. He is a center, same draft year, better defensively, just as good offensively. Mitch's best/2nd best comparable. Id hope for a little cheaper, like a sorry Mitch but Ferris, your dad and youself were headaches for months Tax, but thats me being bitter. 9.5x8. Nice.
Ceci- sadly no better options, but if any team wants him 3.5M signing bonus. Make his salary only 1Mil. Very trade able.
Kerfoot, i would like to see the Kappy/Mango deal. 2.75-3.5 on a 2-4 year deal but eh. Its all good
Bracco- i do not think bracco is ready for full time NHL duty yet. I think he needs 1 more year. kinda got dominated at 5v5 a lot in the AHL. trapped in his own zone. But who knows really with HYman and Dermott injuries.
Harpur- please no, use anyone else.... Sandin hah??

Ceci- are you mad. You want to pay less good ziatsev 4.25x3. If we had another right D option id let him walk. 4.25x1, pay 3.8M in bonus. Try and trade him for any other right hand D. If thats even possible..
Marner- yep, definitely mad. Meiers just signed for 6x4. Even better comparable Aho, who plays center, same draft year and is arguably equal on offense, way better on defense, Carolona Aho. signed for 8.45x5. Marner on a 6 year deal, using that is like ~9ish, maybe. Thats even a hair high Thank you Bergervin for the offer sheet. That with Mitch not getting any offer sheets, he has 0 leverage, his value is back to Normal.
the new russian dude that Mike B said has a spot should be in the lineup somewhere

That being said if i where dubas that would be my final offer and if Mitch doesn't want to sign it I would say have fun sitting at home as we will not negotiate during the season like we did with Nylander
All that said it really doesn't matter what any of us say as we have no control over the situation we're all just frustrated fans waiting to see what happens</div></div>
Yes, we just want it to be done. Sign a damn contract Mitch. I still think UFA vs RFA make a huge difference in terms of money. 2 Sides need to come together, but not being able to leave the Leafs willingly or any team you are an RFA from is very powerful. "Hey Mitch our stats and spreadsheets say "X Million over X Years". After everything Dubas has done, and looking at Ferris and mitch and the **** they pulled all year, i assume it gets done below market value especially with Aho signing..."

Panarin is not a good comparable. he is a UFA, with all the power and is much much better than Marner at this stage of his Career. UFAs and RFAs are completely different. Marner- a RFA, no negotiating rights minus an offer sheet(wont happen). His closest comparables are Point(1-year older, center), Aho(same draft-center), Rantanen(Same draft-winger). All RFAs, all basically the same age, all elite. You cant use Panarin and say I am him. Mitch can try and choose his own comparables, but thats really not how this works. You dont get to pick who you think you are. Dubas goes to mItch and says see how you basically are Aho but you dont play center and you arent as good defensively... well his deal seems fair so sign it or sit out.
Even before this deal Marner was worht 10/8 Max. Now I think its even lower. 10.5/6, gross gross overpayment based on every comparable from Kane in the past, to Aho now.

2. Ziatsev i do not like the trade. its basically a cap dump. Maybe Bracco goes with bbut you get value back. Ziatsev has value. the 5 years is a bit much but he does. Is he good? No. But good ol hockey men are lining up to give Myers 7x7. Big Z is a right shot, "tall" if that matters and in an offensive roll not useless. Some idiot GM who loses the Myers sweepstakes will gladly take Ziatsev. Im not sayiing the leafs will rob them blind, but it will be a neutral trade. Giving up one of th ebest AHLers, a goalie who stole his teams victory all year and will only grow for someone that doesnt need to be a cap dump, aint it.
3. i wouldnt give up any goalie prospects like Scott if i were the leafs
4. Brown for Benning is a good trade

I think it is an overpayment because of Kadris team friendly deal. If Faulk resigns for some time it is better. Ideally you have a conditional 1st in there, saying if he doesnt sign or is traded you give it up. If he signs i would send some seconds.
However, if you are trading with Carolina, id ship out the sun and the moon to get Hamilton voer Faulk. Slightly overpaying for him is worth it IMO.

I guess the way that I'm looking at it is this:
-Colin Miller > Nikita Zaitsev
-Both are RHD
-If the cost to get Miller is a couple of AHLers (or a young, B prospect+AHLer, however you want to frame the deal), why doesn't Vancouver save themselves $14ish million dollars and trade for Miller instead?</div></div>
You are forgiven... And yes I agree with you. Vancouver SHOULD do that. There should be a bidding war to bring Millers value back up to expected. But with all the stupid Vancouver has done, I cant see them making smart moves.
And for Subban its almost like it happened in reserves compared to vegas. NSH cleared Salary to get the big contract. Vegas signed the big contracts and now needs to clear salary right? Vegas Needs to ship Colin Miller because they signed Karlsson and Stone and Pacorietty this year. Hell one of Stasney or Pacorietty may need to go too. NSH doing it in reverse and gambling(unless insider trading) said we need to clear subban now so we can take a run at Duchene.
But you are probably right, with Miller being good and lower reasonable cap hit than subban instead of the 2 AHLers who are 3rd pair and 3rd/4th line, maybe throw Bracco in, or Korskov and a 2nd. Key for Vegas is it has to be someone with waiver elegability and no salary coming back. Hope the bidding ware is low

Lots of teams other than Toronto are looking for a RHD. There's no real comparison here to be maid re: Miller/Marleau.
You're moving Zaitsev (Who is a cap dump) for an NHL dman. You're acquiring Miller (who is better than Zaitsev) for two 24 year old AHLers who don't project as much more than a 4th liner and a 7th dman.</div></div>
...I like how you cut off my quote after i said marleau and where I actually compared it to a useful player like PK Subban. Well played sir. In my explication i literally say "Miller is closer to PKs trade as Miller has value. But the concept is the same. You wont get back what Miller is worth, because you NEED someone to take off the 3.85Mil/3"
... ziatsev has value man, he shouldnt but when you overpay Myers around 7x7 damn. And look at Vegas's situation they cannot afford any NHL controls.
...If you dont like the 2 people, sub bracco in or Korshov . Vegas has to shed cap. The overall concept is the same. They NEED to get miller and by PK subban explination makes snese

1. Marner you have overpaid by probably 1Mil I think. 10M/8 should be near max. with 6 it is probably closer to 9. I know he doesnt want that but tough luck.
2. Hainsey- Hell no. As a 3rd paid, 7th D.Yes i love it. But you cannot trust babcock not to put him top pairing. So sorry, goodbye. Save babcock from himself.
3. Brown is gone, almost a garentee at this point. makes too much money on this team.
4. I doubt Bracco is ready next year. He needs 1-2 more
5. No idea if Ziatsev trade is good, but we get to yell Pu so thats fun. If myers gets 7x7, ziatsevs stock will rise a lot more.

Vancouver does not seem very smart right now. I agree with all your points. Why would vancouver do it. But why would vancouver, who may not make the playoffs for years give a 1st to TB. Why would they offer 7x7 rumored to Myers who got shelled in his own zone every shift while on WPG 3rd pair. Not a lot of smarts. I dont mind this. I am nit picking only here on my opinion, but well done.
1. Marner - probably 1Mil too much on a 6 year. If that was an 8 sign me up. But whatever Point and Aho sign for, Mitch should be within 500K less. Not a C and the other 2 are, Up for debate, a bit better.
2. Bracco - no idea if the trade is fair. but i like it. Bracco isnt really NHL ready yet. Still a year or 2 away.
3. Miller - in a bubble i like the trade. but NJ stole PK subban for cap space. Vegas needs cap space so I think the 2nd becomes a 3rd to 5th. Cap space lowers his value a lot.
4. Brown - solid trade
5. I like the ziatsev conditional 2nd. However with myers rumored to get 7x7 i think ziatsev, a lot of dumb GMs might offer a better package than we all think.
6. I dont know if we need a new backup goalie
7. Dermott and Hyman are on IR/LTIR depends on recovery period for the first 1-3months. So we shall see how they fill the gap. If they can get on LTIR for that period, we can save even more cap space and do more moves. If it is just IR, well hello Marlies.

1. Miller - I think you are right. he is worth a 4th. IN a bubble no he is worth a 2nd and 3rd and change. But this isnt a bubble. Vegas needs cap relief. Marleau cost an arm and a leg to get out of 1year. Subban was given away, as a superstar for 2-2nds. SO that severly lowers Millers value just because of the cap relief vegas needs.
2. Brown is gone. Trade him for a 2nd or 3rd to a dumb GM like the oilers
3. Ziatsev is gone, trade him for a good asset to a dumb GM who missed signing Myers to a 7x7 deal
4. 85% sure Bracco is not NHL Ready. Dispite looking good his corsi was awful and he got caved in, in the AHL at times.

3. Bracco is not ready for the NHL i think. I hope i am wrong but eh.
4. I dont mind the Kadri Trade but i think he has more value based on 4.5M cap hit. Also I dislike moving Nylander. He and matthews are like Mitch and Tavares. Way better together than apart. Dont separate them ever babcock.
5. Miller - I think you can get him for Cheaper. Vegas needs cap space. Based on Marleau and Subban trades the standard is set. So in a bubble Miller is worth that, but because you need 3.8/3 off your books, sorry Vegas, now its just a 3rd... now if there is a bigger bidding war i am wrong and your fee looks good.

8. and i Didnt mention it because i dont hate it.. but 10.6 for 8 years for Marner seens a bit of an overpay but not by much. I think his max should be 10 by 8. 9.5/7, 9/6 kinda thing. 1. The braco Brown Ziatev trade is 100% terrible and awful asset management. Brown is decent if not slightly over paid but he has value. Bracco is one of the best in the AHL right now and Ziatsev while overpaid is a right shot and good ol hockey men want him for some reason. So he has value. If Myers is rumored at 7x7 ziatsev is going to get a return. So bad trade
2. Ristolainen, is awful and a boat anchor. He is a ziatsev of sorts so for non smart teams with good hockey men yes. Nylander is elite, Liljren is one of the best D prospects the leafs have and he shoots right. Fire dubas if he ever makes this trade. I cant overstate how bad this trade is.

3. Brown solid trade, might be able to get more form a dumb GM
4. I dont know if Ziatsev trade is good or not. but he is off the books so that is a win.
5. Marner, I am pretty sure you have drastically overpaid Marner. Comparables have him between 8.75 and 9.5 on a 6-7year deal. He wants 3, cool, you're looking at 7.5+/-0.5M. Whatever Aho and Point get, Marner should be getting within 0.5M less than them.
