Yes for three years. It’s been mentioned because CBJ has a glut of RHD with term. It would cost a first minimum to get him.

I might be in the minority here, but I'd be upset about this if I were CHI fans.
Kane handcuffed them, they got less of a return that some other less valuable players that got moved.
I don't know, I could be way off, but I'd be pissed if I were CHI.

New York Islanders signed Bo Horvat (8 Years / $8,500,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChrisNapoleon</b></div><div>So here is my thing.
For years now, us Islander fans have been complaining that Barzal needs a linemate who matches his style level and playing style, but more importantly someone who scores goals. Eberle was a temporary solution, as he was older, and a bit closer. And the second that Lou goes out and gets a player, after all these years of complaining, everyone is now complaining about the trade. I find it so hypocritical that our fanbase does this. Everyone has to find the negative in everything. I think that it was a good trade, so long as Lou extending Horvat, which he planned on doing. Sure, I would have rather not given up Raty, but it is what it is. Everyone complained we gave too much for Horvat and that we were not going to extend him. Lou extends him, and everyone complains. It's probably the most hypocritical thing ever. I agree that Lou has made some really stupid moves, but come on man. He goes out and gets the player who is 8th in goals, and y'all just complain. I don't get it. Make up your mind.
This was a good signing, and a good trade too. We'll see what happens. Hopefully, we either make the playoffs or fall apart and get the pick for this year. I would also like if Lou traded Pageau and Bailey, but that's just me.</div></div>
It's the Maple Leaf fanbase knocking their old GM Lou. That is were you are finding the butt hurt comments.
Lou = 5 playoff series victories and 2 Conference Finals.
Dubas = 0 success.
Leaf fans and haters will always knock Lou.

lol fair enough - I just hate the makeup of this team and the isles are stuck in purgatory right now. Selling is the only way to create a brighter future.

I made my Keller deal already if you want more of a compromise I’d say dufour the 24 1st top 2 protected and iskhakov something like that.

While I think this is close to fair, it would probably need to be without Raty. But something like
Keller for Iskhakov, 2023 First, 2024 Second and Bailey (for cap hit)
Low-A prospect who is NHL-ready, 1st, 2nd and roster player who helps them hit cap floor and they can flip with retention for positive value at 2024 TDL
This also all depends if they are willing to move him.

Raty means you can keep more secondary pieces and it’s not the worst considering the gymnastics that would have to be done bc of all the Cs on the roster. I love Keller bc of the contract. It takes him till like 31 so you have all the prime without the decline and he has 6years left at just over 7. It’s a great contract and one I’d pay for, if it costs less than this then I’d gladly get on board with that.

The Enemy is Our Friend
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChrisNapoleon</b></div><div>Just give them Josh Bailey & all our problems are solved. We'll take on him and Engvall</div></div>
Your response is to turn one middle 6 forward into *two* middle-6 forwards? Ok...the book says to turn to page 31 if you do this.
<em>"With the trade call finished, you head upstairs to Mr. Lamoriello's office. 'Good news, Lou - I moved Bailey's cap hit to the Leafs for a couple pending UFAs and got a pick out of the deal, too!'
Lamoriello looks up from his desk, peering over the top of his reading glasses. His eyes seem to light up.
'TWO players? For Josh? You know I love him, but I had a feeling someone would pay up for him. But two guys? From Tronna, my old friends? Who'd you bring back to the family??'
'Alex Kerfoot and Pierre Engvall - two guys who can play pretty much anywhere on the bottom 6.'
'Oh - Kyle's guys. You got me two of Kyle's guys. And who do they knock out of the bottom 6 - Cal? Matty? Casey? You know they can't go anywhere.'
He gets up from his desk and walks past you - locking the door to his office.
'But Lou - I thought you'd be happy! They're good guys! Kerfoot's 5v5 scoring rate...'
But it all falls on deaf ears.
The last thing you see before the world goes black is a door you hadn't noticed before - it opens wide, and Ross the Boss emerges, a sinister grin on his face as he holds up something you recognize - an ID card, the same one around your keyring now, that gets you into the building every morning. But something's off about it - that's your name, and your picture, but that title, it's not your title - it's something else...
-SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO GARTH SNOW-"

The Enemy is Our Friend
-How does Florida, currently with $0 in available cap space, just add Justin Holl to the roster? Ekblad & Duclair are expected back at some point this year, and there's no room for Holl once that happens. Florida passes.
-Engvall has 1 point in 10 games. He's not worth much of anything at this point, I can't see him being a trade asset until he actually looks useful.
-I don't see enough for Flyers to give up their top line RW and a useful 3rd liner - but I also don't know why Toronto would give up two of their more attractive prospects and that many picks for two guys they're going to pay $8.5M to play on the 3rd line? Both sides pass on this deal.
-We can play Choose Your Own Decline with this one!
<strong>The Islanders pass on this trade because:</strong>
A) They don't have the cap space<em> (turn to page 22)</em>
B) They already have enough middle-6 forwards & adding another is a waste of a 2nd rounder<em> (turn to page 5)</em>
C) They're not paying a 2nd rounder to take a player you can't afford off your hands <em>(turn to page 91)</em>
Choose wisely!
