that's very fair to say. In that case, I like the idea, although I'd rather go after someone like Brodin or Dunn.

I don't see why the Ducks would want to trade Lindholm. He's one of the bright spots on their weak team.

Kuzy as 2C option
Kuzy is a great player but he’s completely one dimensional which we really don’t need. A guy like Cirelli is really what we need to look into cause he’s a great 2 way center. Also, with Kuznetsov’s history, I don’t think the Rangers would take him on and risk the reputation of being a first-class organization.

No moves assuming hank gone
Hank isn’t going to retire. And I don’t know why people want him gone. He’s not a bad goaltender by any means, he’s just not meeting his own previous standards of being a generational goalie. He’s still a more than serviceable netminder, and a great backup goalie. He can teach Shesterkin a lot, and we can still get him a cup, as long as he doesn’t decline much more, which I don’t think he will. Needless to say, if this offseason happened, I’d be bored out of my mind.

I think you did a good job in terms of value for the Vegas trade, but I don’t see them saying yes just because Glass will step into the 2C role as the replacement for Stastny.

30 points in 61 games was last year, and 53 points in 68 games was this year. If Vegas doesn’t need Tony D because of his lack of defense, then so be it. But the prize for him should be a 1st and a little more, and we won’t trade him until the value is met.

His offensive analytics are amongst the best for defensemen. And this is his 2nd great season. First he had 30 points in 61 games, and then 53 points in 68 games. He’s legit, there’s no doubt about that.

Wow that’s a really interesting offer. Maybe I would do it. But it would be really tough to part with Fox. We have other LW’s to round out or forward group, but guys like Fox are hard to come by. But on the other hand, Matthews is the franchise center every team looks to build around. I really just can’t give a definitive answer on that because there’s so many pros, but also a lot of cons.

Prospects would be nice so we can move out some contracts and make some cap space to sign a defenceman.
Nylander would excel in New York he's exactly the type of player they need on their right wing.</div></div>
I can understand why Adam Fox is so desirable, especially for a godawful defensive team in Toronto, but Fox is a very important part of our core now and for our future. Nylander would not make up for his loss. We have Buchnievich, Kakko, and Kravtsov, and Guathier are more than enough for us on the RW so we really don’t need Nylander. Our current needs are a great two-way 2C and an excellent defensive defenseman.

I would say it ends up somewhere between 24 and 28. Minnesota picks at 9. If you guys package the 9th overall with Carolina’s and maybe a little sweetener, you could move up to secure an elite center such as Marco Rossi or Cole Perfetti, or stay a 9 and choose a great two way center in Anton Lundell, who admittedly has a lower ceiling.

He'd probably be a 40-50ish point guy on our team without Panarin on his wing. If we move Brodin, it has to fill our need for a good center.</div></div>
Well with the expansion draft coming up Minnesota will have to make either Brodin or Dumba available. Minnesota needs to move one of those guys and Strome is a good center. To make up for him not being a 70+ point guy, there’s the first rounder. Plus, Minnesota has their own first which they can use to draft a good center such as Lundell or potentially Perfetti or Rossi if one of them falls. Also, Strome can hold his own to a certain extent, but if you play him with a dynamic winger like Kaprizov, they will benefit off each other’s strengths. The only reason why we don’t see room for him in NY is because of his poor two way game. Minnesota, on the other hand, has plenty of two way players and is arguably one of the best defensive teams in the league, with a great defensive coach in Bruce Boudreau, so Strome is a better fit in that lineup.

Tony DeAngelo is a top 10 purely offensive defenseman in the league (not overall, just offensive). Vegas might not be the right destination for him, but the price tag will definitely be around here if not more. It sucks that he doesn’t fit with us because of money and upcoming RHD depth, but he’s a really good player that just needs to work on his defensive side.

Well personally I bellieve that Hank will play for this year and next, so that gives Tyler Wall two years to be ready for the backup role, and I think he will be ready by then. And if he isn't ready, it won't be too hard to get a backup via trade or free agency, or just give Hank one more year if he's still capable, which I think he will be.

Henrik Lundqvist has proven that he’s still a serviceable goalie, and there’s a good chance we keep him this offseason and trade Georgiev instead. Hank would start close to 25 games and Igor would get the rest of them. In that role, Hank would be fine, and we would reassess his position with us in the offseason. One year of his contract isn’t going to warrant giving away a first rounder.

Cirelli
This doesn’t help Tampa much because they’re still taking on more salary rather than shedding it entirely. I think the best approach to getting Cirelli, who is a very good target for us this offseason, is to offersheet him. A trade like this is honestly not enough in value for Tampa, since Cirelli is truly developing into one of the best two way centers in the game and Gourde is also good player on a not so great contract, which can be said for Kreider also. Overall, I like the idea but I think Tampa might decline, although they are not in a position of much leverage, so it would be interesting. Also, what’s the deal with Kreider’s NMC? It was supposed to kick on July 1st, so would it be pushed back to the day unrestricted free agency opens?

thats completely understandable. its just that the penguins trio of Tanev, Blueger, and Aston Reese was so good defensively and the Rangers could really use pieces like that for our pk and the 4th line.
