Bourque
You'd want to call up Troy Bourke as well (throw him in for McLeod or Martinsen)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div><i>G. Bourque was on Waivers, it seems like Vogelhuber or Martinsen will be the 14th forward</i></div></div> I saw that but from reading in the DP and Bednar's comments, it sounded like the waivers was a formality and that they wanted him to stick around. Otherwise swap him with probably Vogelhuber as an extra forward.

Leits Avs Opening Night attempt at lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div><i>I could see those lines, but the D core is a little off for me. I dont think Beauch is paired with EJ, they havent played much if at all during camp/pre-season when EJ has been back.
I think they will roll out Zads on the top pairing
Zads EJ
Beauch Barrie
Wiercioch Tyutin/Gelinas</i></div></div>
I was guessing on what the lines might be & stuck Z w/ Tyutin based on the narrative that's what he was brought in for. Ideally I'd set it up as
EJ-Zads
Barrie-Beauch
Weircoch-Gelinas/Siemens
Tyutin-Gelinas/Siemens
For this year anyway.

Las Vegas - Comment the 3 most likely players to be taken from your team and we
Colorado: Varlamov, Soderberg/Grigorenko, Comeau
Protected as of now: MacKinnon, Duchene, Landeskog, Grigorenko, Johnson, Barrie, Zadorov, Beauchemin, Pickard
I think they choose between Soderberg & Grigorenko based on this season and try to get Beauchemin to waive NTC. If so, they become MacKinnon, Duchene, Landeskog, Soderberg, Grigorenko, Johnson, Barrie, Zadorov, Pickard

Don't think Zadorov is top-2 and Siemens, NHLer.</i></div></div>I Like your lines set up there just as much. Put Fleisch with Duchene because of their previous chemistry which bumps Colbourne & Comeau down lines. And I agree I'm not sure Zadorov is top 2 right now, but for whatever reason EJ-Barrie isn't something that Roy likes and I want Beauch to see limited minutes. Plus I think that's what they want Zad to become to throw him in and get experience. And Siemens is in because it benefits Bigras more to get top pair minutes in San Antonio, because he's now waiver eligible (and I still don't want to lose him for nothing) and because I think even being the 7-8th guy and practicing with the NHLers all season will determine whether he has the stuff to be a NHL D (I think so) or if they move on next summer.
Thanks for the thoughts.

Edmonton Oilers
Colorado would have little to no interest in Nugent-Hopkins, they've got plenty of center depth. A Barrie trade starts w/ Eberle or Draisaitl and it'd be Edmonton adding to the deal not Colorado. The Avs have no reason to deal Barrie as they control his rights for at least three more years.

In place of the Pirri signing I could also see them giving Compher a look out of camp or possibly look at bringing back Skille as a 12-13 forward.

Leits 15.0
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JFo</b></div><div><i>Great trade for Colorado, completely hosed EDM</i></div></div>I agree it's great for COL. Bad for EDM too but they'll have to overpay to get Barrie out of Denver.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CzechingOut</b></div><div><i>If you replaced Nurse with Reinhart i would consider it, however we need more than John "Im old as hell" Mitchell.
Add in Duncan Siemens instead of Mitchell and you have the start of something.</i></div></div>As I said in the explanation, I think COL would want Draisaitl and would take Reinhart to start a deal. But EDM shouldn't want to part with Leon so Avs move to Eberle and upgrade from Reinhart, which is why I don't think it'd happen. As a fan I'd be good doing a packge of Barrie/Siemens/Iggy but no change Iggy waives to go to EDM. Mitchell went in because he's redundant in COL lineup and clears some cap room for Avs to take back Eberle & resign Grigorenko.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Peterman</b></div><div><i>Barrie and Eberle are probably equal value. For what else COL can offer, I can't see EDM wanting to throw in Nurse as well.</i></div></div>In this case if EDM wants Barrie, they have to overpay to get him and that's why I went w/ Nurse over Reinhart and also why I don't see COL-EDM as a match.

I said in my COL side of the deal I don't think it'd happen, but the Avs are in complete control so I'd expect them to demand the moon and settle on a big package like this (or something similar).

Also on the fence about signing Pirri and moving Colborne to the 4th line (dude put up 40+ points last season playing a middle 6 F role)</i></div></div>I put Bigras down in San Antonio so that he'd get big minutes and I think Siemens would benefit more from being up w/ big club even if it's only as the 7-8 guy. I'd rather have Bigras up and playing, but the Weircioch/Tyutin signings make me worried he'd get pushed down so I'd rather have him playing every night. And I'm pretty interchangable with Pirri/Colbourne & possibly even Grigo. I think signing Pirri makes the team better than hoping someone like Compher can make the jump full time from the get go so that's why I grabbed him. I'd actually like to even switch Colbourne to 3C, Pirri on his wing and Iggy on the 4th line getting PP time, but I don't think that will happen.

2 errors in the contracts IMO..
No chance Pickard locks in at 1 mil for 4 years (think 2 years max at that value)
No chance Grigorenko locks in at 1 mil for 3 years (think 1.5mil for 3 years or 1 mil for 1-2 years).

I kicked around the idea of retaining salary on the Iggy deal and as mentioned you could conceivably do that here w/o trouble.
And I disagree on Staal. I think on the 3rd pairing he'd be fine (at a cheaper rate like I put here), but you could always undo that deal & the Liles deal to go after a UFA. Anything to get Holden off the roster. I don't mind him, but if he's there I worry about Roy's penchant for playing him 22 min/game for no apparent reason.

I could see keeping Holden over Redmond for the third D pairing but I worry Roy wouldn't be able to resist playing him in the 2nd pairing so I moved him to avoid the temptation
