Calgary asked for Mercer originally but like with Saros he was never made available. My understanding is that the deal has something to do with Holtz and their 1st, likely protected. Most of the info on the deal was pretty obscure though so exact details are not ever coming out

Practice Playoff Lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CooleyforCalder</b></div><div>If that doesn't get Dubois going... man</div></div>
That line succeeding could be the future core of the Kings.
But overall, it puts a legit scoring threat on every line as well as a defensively responsible forward on every line. PLDs line scoring is good, but if that line can be defensively responsible that will be huge. If they line up against 4th lines or Lizzos line, we should see something happen.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CooleyforCalder</b></div><div>makes sense, is ryan johnson available? good option for 3lhd</div></div>
I don’t think so
Imo, our defense probably looks like this next year
Byram-Dahlin
Power-Jokiharju
Samuelsson-Clifton
R.Johnson
I know that makes it look like Johnson is left out in the cold,
but pretty much everyone on our defense gets banged up & i could see him rotating on for injuries or if anyone is struggling
He was paired with Dahlin for a bit earlier in the season & didn’t look outta place
My guess is we hang on to him unless he’s part of a package for a top pair RD

Building the New Team
Brannstrom's Qualifying Offer is $2 million but I don't think that he's a significant upgrade on Andreas Englund. I wouldn't trade away Arthur Kaliyev to acquire him, that's for sure.
Blake Lizotte's Qualifying Offer is $1.675 million and I would certainly use the additional cap space you have here to keep him.
Those are strange line combinations -- very strange. Trevor Moore on the right is particularly curious.
I'll go out on a limb and say Hayden Hodgson never plays a game in an LA Kings sweater.

BTW, I love the draft capital the Yotes have built. Should be a fun few drafts over the next couple of seasons. Armstrong has done a great job of loading up. You’re primed to both stock the prospect shelves and package picks for legit roster players.

I don’t think the Sens go there as those two guys are core to the rebuild. Unless the two teams talk blockbusters with roster players going both ways (Durzi?) which I would be game for as someone who embraces chaos in the NHL.

Agreed. He is more of a stop gap guy. He can play second pair but is better suited for third pair duties.

I can't see the Avs looking to deal Girard so it would probably cost a lot

I think the caps would rather target Soderstrom. They need youth on the right side (where TVR would be leaving in this case) Sure you can say Iorio is close to being ready but Soderstrom is a better piece.

swap crouse and but. that would be a better line combo.
also, don't sign chychrun at all, let alone 7 years.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CooleyforCalder</b></div><div>Oh Yeah I see Kupari has really showcased his offensive skills this year!</div></div>
Jets are gonna be busy trying to fit under the cap this summer, no interest in adding salary to the 4th line/pressbox.
Kupari is solid defensively and one of the Jets 4 right-handed forwards under contract next year (Toffoli is 5 if he re-signs, Lambert would be 6 if he makes the team).
Cap space is needed elsewhere.

But Wallman plays well with Seider, so trading him for future second and his great contract is like starting over. Fabbri is in play but would expect a lot less like a 4th or 5th.

Cap Dumps pls
Orlov, Manson, and Colton are far from being cap dumps imo. I would also do that oilers trade too, just to get rid of Campbell so we wouldn’t have to do the buyout for 6 years.
