It's also an expiring RFA who the Kings could just sign in free agency.

Clarke is an RFA, not UFA.

Hawks easily decline. They have plenty of mid round picks. Hall will get his long awaited opportunity to play on Bedard's LW.

He is a former MVP, who has played with more former 1st overalls (7, not including himself) than playoff rounds (6).

I’m guessing he just wants to win.

Interesting tidbit! Doesn't mean the Hawks willingly create a hole on their top line to acquire another 3rd round pick though. If Hall didn't want to play in Chicago, he shouldn't have agreed to the trade last off season. And he kind of owes the Hawks some ice time after collecting $7m for his 10 games played this season.

Yeah, maybe. But, why would he have accepted a trade to CHI in the first place, then? Either way, CHI doesn't need any more mid or late round picks. So, if he "wants to win", he can try to have a great season, get his value up, and get some trade interest at next seasons deadline.

That is a very reasonable assumption. Assuming the Hawks are just going to fork him over to the Devils for so little not so much. He is contractually obligated to be a Hawk & he hasn’t done what Kane for example has for the Hawks to be throwing his weight around to go wherever he wants for next to nothing.

What would be the legit price?
$6m x 1 year following an injury season.
Last trade was for two AHLers, previous trade was for Bjork/2nd.
Production has dropped considerably.

I would think a B-prospect and mid-round pick...maybe a bit more if salary was retained.

Well, along the lines of what I said before, I think the plan is to let him play a healthy season next to Bedard and figure the rest out at the trade deadline. I doubt there is a price until then, unless some kid forces their way onto the NHL roster in camp and he ends up being the odd man out.

If the Hawks were actually looking to move Hall out, a B prospect and a pick is probably about right. But the Hawks aren't looking to move him. There's been no indication of that at all Why trade a player when his value is low if there's zero reason too?

The trade out of Boston isn't a good reference. The B's needed to clear cap space. The Hawks obviously don't. In fact, it's just the opposite. Trading Hall for a pick means the Hawks need to make other moves to backfill that $6m cap hit to reach the floor.

Don't flip out on me, but you asked the question. If I'm Kyle from Chicago and a team wants Hall during the off season, I want a player who can fill his spot on Bedard's line. You've got Holtz on your 3rd line. Hawks will take him and give him a shot on the top line w/ Bedard.

Mostly just curious….imagine they let him rebuild some value before shipping him out at deadline.
