NEXT YEAR CBJ
Big fan of Eriksson Ek and his contract is more than reasonable. However, for the Jackets to send Johnson, Mateychuk, and a 1st (2025) is a lot imo. Maybe something like Johnson, Ceulemans OR Svozil (if MN wants a LD), and a 2nd ('25) may be more in line. Mateychuk is a LD the jackets I'm sure are not keen to trade. Interesting proposal though.

WHO WIN CBJ COL TOR
Yeah Colorado asks if you actually watch hockey or if a hobo stole your phone and are making crank calls. Avs would be move either of those pieces for Jenner. Let alone both. Boone means a lot to CBJ I get that but he doesn’t have anywhere near that value. To other teams I mean.

I don't think CBJ would give this much for a two year rental because they are not in a win now situation.

TOR DO SOMETHING
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Pretty sure 70 point Necas at about a likely 7mil will be a better bet than a 80 point Nylander at 10mil for the Canes. Pretty sure that, what, 15 points is not worth paying the extra 3mil, especially to downgrade defensively.</div></div>
But would you do it if Nylander signed for 9 million? Why would he sign with the Canes for 9 million but demand 10 from the leafs? His take home pay after taxes would be more in Carolina than it would be in Toronto.
Nylander take home for 9 million with Carolina: $4,870,019.
10 million with Toronto: $4,548,983.

I was at the game last night and he was once again one of the most exciting players on the ice. He generates offense and has gotten better defensively. He should be a priority to lock up.</div></div>
Whoa whoa buddy we keep getting told that Willie is just a perimeter floater and not that good.
You need to pay attention more methinks.

That’s a fairly nice haul for Zegras. On top of two everyday players, Mateychuk is already a solid prospect and you’re getting another 1st rounder. We’ve already got a young guy who can score Michigan goals. Don’t get greedy.

Marchenko For Hanifin
with CGY having brought in Provorov and Severson, I don't see as CBJ as a Hanifan landing spot.
Although i think they could be interested in Lindholm, Can't see them parting with Marchenko tho.

Or a lower prospect/ player than Chinakhov might make it more manageable

I mean, it's a lot to give up from Columbus, so maybe a slight reduction is needed, but this would be huge for them. If Columbus were to get Lindholm, they'd instantly become a playoff contender. Also works perfectly, because Lindholm could start out as the 1C and then slide to 2C as Fantilli develops. I'd definitely offer less, but Lindholm is a perfect trade target for Cbj

Columbus gets a center
This assumes Sheifele agrees to sign an extension with Columbus or comes with an extension already in place. The Blue Jackets would prefer Lindholm but Scheifele will be quite a bit cheaper to acquire. Winnipeg gets a 3rd line center for right now and a young center with lots of future potential.
Edit: Nevermind, I forgot about the Laine connection. Laine would want out the minute he heard about this and Jarmo won't do that to his favorite player from his home country.

It’s not nuts from a CBJ perspective. I think the Kings might have a problem with it but it depends on how badly they want PLD. The Jets, however, should be able to get much more for him assuming a LT extension.

UPDATE
Gibson for Elvis straight up is about as close to this as the CBJ would go. The idea that one troubled goalie is worth another troubled goalie PLUS a guy and two future picks is not close to an even proposal.
EDIT: Wait a sec…you’re a Jackets fan and you offered this?? You must really, really hate Elvis or really, really overvalue Gibson.

GRAZY IDEA
I love crazy ideas.
I wondered if CBJ would consider Fantilli more NHL ready (if he compares to Eichel, he'll be a 50 point player next year), but then Anaheim, you're thinking Fantilli is surefire #1C and you would rather build the team around him than around Carlsson.
Fantilli + Zegras + McTavish is not a sustainable situation in Anaheim, but I can see them accept it for a year or two. Jersey could have taken Shane Wright last year and I think avoided it because of precisely this (even though Brodeur said on the draft floor they felt Nemec had the highest ceiling in the draft).

GRAZY IDEA
Anaheim would consider this if they view Carlsson vs Fantilli as pretty much a tossup but chances are they don't and keep 2nd OA.
