What's your logic on the Detroit trade? Are we paying to move Vrana, or does that package in your opinion amount to an early first? Please show your workings.

Holl and Engvall aren't very flippable assets. It'd end up being a third and two fourths for Bert, but I know you know Bert has more value than that. Because you've added him to your top 6.

Seconded. Krug just hasn't worked in the Blues system in my opinion. In the same way that Leddy didn't suit Detroit. I think he'd work pretty well with Seider, not so good with Hronek.
I'd do Krug for Chiarot straight up if they wanted out of Krug's deal.

Detroit fans what do we think here
Zadina has only played 9 games under Lalonde. I'd like to see him play at least 30-40 games in Lalonde's system to see if he can get Zadina to fire.
The Maatta deal looks okay.
Bert probably won't get us a first sadly and I don't Sunny gets us a second either but hey, it's Steve Yzerman. I don't think we should take on someone like Sammy Blais unless we make other moves and need a guy...we've already got a bit of roster congestion at the moment. Zadina, Vrana, Soderblöm and Berggy are all in GR at the moment, with I think only 2 open roster spots. We might see someone like Suter get moved.

Larkin somehow
Yzerman would never take cap dumps off you AND retain for such an underwhelming return, but Larkin to Boston does make a ton of sense given Krejci and Patrice's ages.
You'd need more than 8x8 for him to waive; and you'd need to offer more to Detroit for Yzerman to do the deal.

Detroit and Anaheim would both get better TDL offers. Vancouver might accept. Who knows what Chicago would do....it could get weird.

taking larkins comments way out of context
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>If Det fans feel this is not enough for 2months of Larkin the fanbase be truly lost
As basically they get a 1st + 2nd + Minten who in redrafts probs goes late 1st now.
Thats pretty dam good for a rental as they dont got to take any salary back like in the Horvat deal saving them potential headaches.
That said I saw the comments even joked about it and while he would make an impact if I spend that kind of package I want someone who can make an impact beyond this season</div></div>
Hey man, we're just working through our emotions of potentially losing our 1C. One day at a time here.
Besides the retention ask it's not a disrespectful offer at all, but quite frankly I think it'd get outbid. Boston for example might offer the same deal, but upgrade Mints to Lysell. If Larks and Yzerman are truly at a stalemate and there's no other option then the OPs deal feels okay...but if Larkin were publicly on the trade block then I think the OPs deal gets easily gazumped.

I would have to think that protected 3 pairing minutes would be the next step.
Not a Detroit fan, and although I know something, I am not deeply knowledgeable either, so enlighten me on what you are thinking here.</div></div>
Well maybe I'm just joining the ranks of Detroit fans frustrated with his game, but don't really see him as a top 4 D in our org right now or next year. I think Walman has 1LD locked down for the time being and our Maatta-Hronek pairing has been demonstrably better than him and Hronek. And we've got both Edvinsson and Wallinder ready to leapfrog him. As for Myers, maybe is Yzerman feels he can move him later he might do it. He's been very frugal and really only brings in older guys who he thinks he can flip.

Hypothetically if he is to waive, to me it makes more sense Larkin going to a team like Buffalo. If money and term are the biggest factors (and they clearly are for him) then Boston, Colorado etc simply can't offer what he wants.

Although Yzerman would probably prefer a prospect at this point, Detroit would probably take that. I think Perron would waive for the Leafs too. He's mellowed a bit since coming to Detroit, but it would give the Leafs some much needed starch in the Top 6. Poor little Bunts...he tries so hard to be physical, you've gotta respect him.

Myers has some good hockey in him at $3M, but I think Detroit would decline on the basis that this makes Chairot and Myers a $7.7M bottom D pair

Most of these trades are all heavily biased towards Detroit. The Rangers and Jets trades are probably fairly inflammatory to those fans. But I do like the idea of reuniting Raymond and Holtz. Even if Holtz hasn't really panned out, it still might cost a Perron or a Rasmussen.

This is quite a team you've assembled. I won't comment on the value of the trades, but players really dislike impulsive GMs. With 15+ player transactions you signal to the UFA market that job security in Detroit is never safe.
Are you also okay with bumping guys like Raymond, Cossa and Kasper so far down the pecking order that they leave as soon as possible?
Most importantly, I don't ever want to see Bunting in our jersey.

Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tonyhzs</b></div><div>If Wallinder is overrated and Buium is nothing special, and Rasmussen is middle 6 (this I agree) then why do you want these players? Keep in mind, Wallinder, if he makes the team, would be 3rd pairing behind Edvinsson/Johansen. I expect Wallinder to be in the AHL for 20 or so games. Or he makes the team and pairs with Seider if Walman doesn't come back. I might be a little too keen on Wallinder, but if he isn't top 4 this next season, he will be in 2025.
Buium is still a college kid. Raw but refining. He could be a gem or a bottom 4 or a bust. Too early to tell. Still a heck of a good prospect.</div></div>
No, you're not too keen on Wallinder. I'm very high on him too and dead against the Wings trading him. He's 20 and one of the top 10 D-men in the SHL. He only needs a few more points to put up a better season than Seider's year at Rögle.
Given that it's Detroit's LD we're talking about here, it's not unreasonable to suggest he might force his way into a top 4 role next year. Nonetheless he is, quite clearly, the main Detroit asset in the OP's trade proposal.
