Fair enough. Check again. I thought Point was laughable. Just returning the jokes.

in the long run we screwed you to help ourselves lol
i doubt MB ever thought he could get it but he made sure he'll have a shot when he's UFA.
i think this was more to set the bar saying this is what Aho's worth so maybe if he offers 10.5 to Laine he takes it without having to spend four 1st's everyone thought would be guaranteed for Laine to sign. i could be wrong and it could be just an added benefit of him making a weak offer sheet , who knows .</div></div>
I'm not a Cane fan, and Bergevin didn't screw them at all. All the Canes have to do now is sign Aho to another contract before that contract is up, or they trade him for a huge haul. Whether he meant to or not, Bergevin helped set the market even more after San Jose signed Timo Meier. Whatever his intentions
were did everyone a favor and benefited the whole league with all their RFAs. Aho's contract is now the blueprint for elite RFA players; especially since UFAs are getting PAID.

It's not happening. Aho is a Cane. Habs just made him an even more insanely valuable player now. With the production he has put out in his short amount of time, and the upfront bonuses he will be paid. It would take like 8 1st round picks for that beauty. He's like McDavid valuable. If they offered Point that deal, it would have had Tampa celebrating like they won the 1st round of the playoffs.

Oops, fixed it, added another 3rd as well.

This is more to addresses their needs. They don't have a solid choice for 4th line center, and their backup goalie Subban hasn't agreed on a contract yet. This gives them two decent players with cheap contracts. Add another 2nd or 3rd to the deal.

Yeah Okay
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>I_Know_Nothing_About_Hockey_Or_Any_Sport2</b></div><div>The NTC may make this hard, but I would really much prefer a Palat trade to a Gourde trade. Whatever magic would convince Killorn to waive an NTC would hopefully work on Palat too. Palat has really not lived up to his expectations and has sort of proven himself expendable. In that case, this is what going all-in would look like, I guess, but re-signing Vasilevskiy, Cernak, Sergachev, Cirelli, Joseph, and Reaves at the end of the season would be seriously impossible.</div></div>
Palat is just too hard to move this year. Killorn would be the most probable to move considering he might waive for Boston since he has ties there and they are a contender. Matt Carle comes off the books next year. (1.83 mill) Palat can be traded next year when his NTC turns into a M-NTC.(That's another 5.3 mill off the boards) Let Reaves walk unless he takes a massive discount. (2 mill there) Trade Coburn if you have to next season as well. (There's 1.7 mill there) That's almost 11 mill! Add those RFAs current contract AAVs to that nearly 11 mill and you're at 17,381,665 to spread out to those RFAs. 8 years for Vasy - 7 mill, 3 years for Cernak - 2.75 mill, 3 years for Surge - 2.75 mill. 3 years for Joseph - 2 mill. 3 years for Cirelli - 2.8 mill. After that; the cap goes up another 2 mill or so, and Johnson comes off the books from Seattle in the 21-22 expansion draft to keep the cycle going.
