Grzelcyk has No strength he gets bodied by everyone.
How do you let Tavares beat you he’s slow as ****, he may be stronger but grzelcyk was in terrible position he could have easily cut him off if he wasn’t positioned so bad and you can see he was positioned bad because he nearly tripped rotating his hips.
Mcavoys fault not seeing the back door coming in but again that play doesn’t happen if grzelcyk was positioned properly

Well imagine too I can see sway getting less then what you offered so if he was to 7 mill. That seems to be the consensus number on here, that saves Boston another 1.25 mil. I could also seem the fine running lindholm/lohrei/Wotherspoon and going for a cheaper option like Kulikov for 7D that would save another 2 mill.
Bruins would have another 3.25 mill which puts us over 10.
We could splash on a Reinhart/ guentzel

Bump Geekie or Freddy potentially down and lysell to 3rd line.
I think I’d rather see holtz on the first line LW and let debrusk play with Marchand still.

Highly highly highly doubt it poitras is poised to be bruins future 2C we also need guys on their ELC. The fact he cracked the line-up at 19 means bruins definitely don’t move him unless it’s for a U25 Center that’s already a 2C and could become a 1C

-Chatfield could get more in UFA, Big RHD ya someone will overpay
-Noesen is getting min 2 mill after having 2 solid seasons he will want to get paid
-Necas/Drury could ask for more.
Contracts for RFAs is pretty solid for the most part outside of term I could see Jarvis taking a bridge deal but Necas probably wants term.
UFAs are off though, guys want to get paid and for players like noesen/ Chatfield who have been depth players most their career but just had solid contract years they are gonna want to try and bank the most they can.

If lysell doesn’t crack the roster then Freddy moves up and boqvist goes 4th line LW. I should have had him on the scratches instead of lauko. He could also slot in on the 4th line instead of Beecher if bruins want more offence
Boqvist is fast but Lysell’s skating has been compared to mcdavids and bures

Marner UFA not stupid enough to trade for him
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ryminister_92</b></div><div>You can argue whether or not Nylander is overpaid all you want - that doesn’t matter now. He’s paid that and that’s the comparable out there & Marner has always been better than Nylander so it’s a baseline his agent will use.
Also you saying “Nylander has the ability to play centre” as an advantage is quite hysterical. Just be cause a guy “can” play centre, doesn’t mean anything. Marner played centre in junior too, Nylander hasn’t played centre consistently at all in the NHL and when they said they were gonna give him a long look at the position this season, it literally lasted less than 2 games - his “ability to play centre” means absolute dog$hit nothing.
Marner is worth more than Nylander, substantially more. Whether or not you like it doesn’t matter.</div></div>
Marner did not play Center for his last 2 years in junior because he struggled I’ve seen all the info on that rumour, he’s not a capable Center he plays his best hockey at wing. Nylander “DID” play Center all through junior and did play Center 3 of his first 4 seasons, Marner has never took over 100 draws in a season

Carlo Ullmark option 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>your posts seem to have a theme - trying to trade the bruins core, mostly for the worst. i'd just go ahead and stop. if you look at the contracts the bruins have given out, it pretty obviously identifies their core, and the guys they aren't moving. Pastrnak, McAvoy, Lindholm, Carlo, and Zacha are the only guys that have more than two years left on their deal. soon you can add swayman to that list. that's their core. zacha might be the exception. those guys aren't moving.</div></div>
I think you are exaggerating greatly that’s for sure, I’ve made 2 posts about moving Carlo and it was to greatly benefit our struggling forward core.
I don’t want to move Carlo but if it was to acquire us someone who can benefit our scoring and giving pasta some more help then that’s great.
Our Dcore is in good hands even without Carlo, our forward core outside of pasta is drying up in terms of players who can generate their own chances and carry the play themselves.
So would I take the chance if moving Carlo for a solid young forward and then going out and grabbing someone like Demelo/Pesce/ Roy who is more then a solid replacement, yes I would.

That’s some crazy values. Duclair has had some good seasons and never once been paid more than 3 mill. I think if he’s lucky he gets 4 mill. A lot of top winger’s potentially available in UFA and he’s not in the top 10 probably not even top 15 so he won’t get no overpayment unless it’s Chicago or San Jose.
Stammer is a captain and a leader I doubt he try’s to bankrupt tampa.
If he signs with a contender I feel he will sign a malkin esce contract 3-4yrs 5.75-6.75 mill maybe if he was to go to Anaheim or Montreal and try to offer some leadership help then he probably asks for something like 2-3 years 7-8 mill but again idk many 34 years old that get 8 mill contracts

2 of those wins he played like absolute **** Colorado just limited Winnipeg to low shots.
His SV% and GAA are so so so bad. And those are 2 stats that usually look good when your team is winning but not even Colorado can help georgiev.
He may have lead the league in wins but that’s purely based on him having a high number of games played and because he plays for a stacked team.
He had a -11.6 GSAX he was not a good goalie this year.

Everyone said the same about chariot and getting a 1st. Dowd is one of the better defensive bottom 6 centers in the league and everyone knows how valuable a guy who can take on 60+% of the defensive zone draws can be.
Guys like sturm/Glendening/ pageau/ cizikas/ Jenner earlier in his career made a living off of it.
From recent playoff experiences I can tell you as a bruins fan that Bergerons hardest match-ups in my opinion have been Pageau/ Jenner/ Staal not Matthews/ Aho/ Barkov like you would think

I think I would like chych on whatever unit Pasta is on. Given how strong of a shot he has it could free up some room for pasta.
I’d also be open to mcavoy and chych on one power play and having chych and pasta in your shooter spots. Mcavoy is good at holding the line he’s an underrated skater and is a good passer.
I can’t see bruins taking forsberg back it would have to be 1 for 1 or we add a 3rd maybe. Ottawa would have to find their own way to move forsberg

I agree but I’d be open to looking for someone like Demelo/ Roy/ Pesce that could offer a better 2 way game.
Peeke is a good PKer and shut down dman and would help fill the hole Carlo leaves.
If we can make a trade and get someone who can make a difference to our offence maybe like a Peterka or Mittelstadt I’d be okay with his departure.
Boston has a really rough time in the neutral zone and a big part of that is because mcavoy is our only strong dmen in transition, lindholm does good with mcavoy in transition but is not good with Carlo so that’s a key weakness I’d like to fix

Thread:
Marner UFA not stupid enough to trade for him
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ryminister_92</b></div><div>Clearly you don’t know how UFA works.
Marner currently makes $10.093M, he’ll be looking for a raise on a new contract, especially if he hits UFA. Next seasons cap is projected to be $87.7M and then the season after that is unknown right now but let’s say it increases another $2.5M on the low end. So that’s roughly $90.2M
Now back to to Marner’s current cap hit - the $10.093 was signed at a cap hit percentage of 13.38%. So even if he signed for the same contract when he hits UFA, then 13.38% of $90.2M is a little under $12.1M and that’s for not even a raise so there’s the base number. Now add in that it’s a UFA contract and players that are free agents always get more on the open market since there will be multiple teams bidding on him. & whether you love him or not, there will be a bunch of teams looking to sign Marner, I’d guess between 5-8 serious teams. So if a team wants to outbid the other teams, you’ve gotta offer something more than what they have to offer which is usually more money.
Now let’s look at a comparable - William Nylander. We can all agree that Marner is the better player (if you can’t then you don’t know a single thing about hockey). Nylander’s cap hit percentage is 13.77%. So now that’s the baseline - and 13.77% of $90.2M is just under $12.5M so that’s the REAL STARTING point for Marner. Add on that he’s a UFA and an extra $500K for all the reasons listed above and the fact that the cap should inflate over the term of the contract and now we’re at $13M easily..
So yes. As a UFA $13M+ is what Marner is looking at. He’ll likely be between $12-$12.5M if he re-signs with a team before he hits UFA but that will likely be with the extra year at the end.
There’s your lesson in hockey today. It’s not all about if YOU like the player. It’s a business first. & Marner is an asset that brings in money to a team and has the comparables to justify a $13M UFA contract whether you like it or not.</div></div>
If Marner asks for 13 mill which will be more then, tkachuk/ pasta/ kuch/ mackinnon/ potentially Rantanen/ potentially same as Draisaitl/ almost the same as Matthews. Then it will clearly show he only cares about money and nothing about winning so good luck to him playing for bottom feeders after Toronto.
The contract comp to nylander is terrible everyone knows nylander is overpaid. Nylander is worth 10 max maybe 10.5 if he was to play full time Center and excel in that spot.
But with that nylanders ability to play Center will give him and advantage on contract negotiations, Goals also pay so nylander being a much stronger goal scorer also adds up.
You can argue marners selke level defence but all that **** disappears in playoffs anyways.
I’m a bruins fan I’ve got my fair share of seeing leaf’s play and over our last few playoff runs against each other I can easily say that
Nylander/ Kadri/ Hyman/ Connor brown/ Kapanen / Johnsson/ all had played a much better all-around game then Marner did most those series
