Severson trade offers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oliver_wahlstrom</b></div><div>Severson isnt getting a first. I just cant see it.
And dont use Romanov as an example of why he could. That was a horrific overpay and reach. Im open to debate if someone is able to offer trade comparibles</div></div>
1. Lindholm
2. Risto
3. Chiarot
4. Savard
5. Franson
6. Yandle
7. Sekera
8. Bouwmeester
9. Byfuglien
10. Boyle
Severson most definitely gets a 1st rounder.
Using comps...(and I owe <a href="/users/devil" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@devil</a> a post soon on Severson trade comps)....only helps argument that he'd get a 1st.
Thing is, I don't think NJD would look for picks in return.
I could see a younger forward with term maybe as the main piece in return

Yet to hear good reason for NJD to break historical norms and trade 2nd pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dev17</b></div><div>I like the Arizona trade. If they’re making it very clear they want Cooley then they are probably willing to secure that. Whether it’s any of their later picks the devils should entertain a swap. I can see it being their last second round pick. The two 2nds can be great to package or grab two prospects that can bolster their prospect pool one last time.
With the goaltending talks I really think Knight is the guy to make calls about even if it has to wait a year. His situation is fascinating as it all hangs in the balance of Bobrovsky’s NMC. I’d imagine the devils will WAY rather go after him than a netminder that’s nearing their thirties</div></div>
I would love Knight too, but I think we would be a year too early. Next summer, Knight hits his RFA year and Florida has Huberdeau and Weegar contracts due.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cincod1</b></div><div>Fair enough. If you think a roll of the dice is better than a proven and predictable asset, you should keep it. If that’s the case and you miss, you’ve wasted an opportunity to enhance your core. Again totally fine, but just because you don’t want to part with your 2nd overall doesn’t mean a guy isn’t worth it. Just a difference in philosophy.</div></div>
I’d be fine with Wright, Cooley, Slavkovsky or Nemec over most the names I have seen thrown around for that pick.
