JETS 2425
I think Monahan starts with a 5. Hard pass on Brendan Dillon at $4.5 plus options at LHD - JoMo, Samberg, Heinola, Stanley. Id even rather sign Capobianco
Not sure why the Isles trade Pulock. I do belivee the Jets need a legit top pairing RHD a la Brett Pesce, Rasmus Andersson or yes, all in on Ryan Pulock...
I dont see Lambert as a good fit on the 4th line.

All the players coming to them have no value. At best theres a could fringe players. They are all 23 or older and
Sp they are not giving up barron and monahan for those 3 picks. Not close</div></div>
That’s 3 RFA roster players and 3 decent picks for 25 games of monahan and Justin Barron is what I see. No thanks

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Yeah, it's just none of those guys are sure things. So if the Jets move out a top 6 player for a defenseman, it basically just turns the Jets into the Islanders. A team that has great defense, but can't score.</div></div>
The lineup is still pretty deep throughout and will only improve on PK as well defending at 5on5. Ehlers is heating up a bit now but he currently sits 9th on the team in scoring. It seems... (thus far) they score pretty well without him. Big bad Brad will bring similar elements as Ehlers.
Edit: A Heinola / Demelo 3rd pair will dominate minutes!!

I’d trade Ehlers for Pulock in a heartbeat. Iafallo, Connor, Scheifele, Vilardi, Perfetti and Nino can makeup the top six just fine.
Jets have a ton of boom or bust prospects that could end up as really good middle six wingers. If they really believe in being a draft and develop team, you take the chance.</div></div>
No argument here!

I agree, I looked a bit more long term and the depth within the organization at FW and lack thereof on D. Lambert, Chibrokov, Barlow… will fill the void sooner than later. Pulock adds another solid pillar to the core for a long term. The cap is an even swap this season. Ehlers has always felt a bit in te outside with the the way the organization wants to play.
Sets them up well going forward!

No doubt! Rutger is a folk hero in Win already. There would be riots. Maybe Lambert with a 1st and Schmidt .

If jets trade Hellebuyck

It seems this comment was based on the poster signing him for 8 years. I agree, no 8 year deal is coming for Hellebuyck. That being said, he will give any team 4-5 years of top 10 goaltending without a doubt. He is that focused and conditioned. His style of play is positioning which has less impact on his body. Seeing him up close for many years I have NO DOUBT he will continue to play at a high level for many years to come!

If jets trade Hellebuyck
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tintin</b></div><div>I probably shouldn't have implied there are multiple perfect comparables. You're right that goalies of this caliber are rarely traded.
The best recent one I can really think of is that of Kuemper back in 2021. Pending UFA, easily a top 10 goalie at the time. 1st + 3rd + B level prospect.
Then there's Ryan Miller from the 2014 TDL. Pending UFA playing at the height of his powers going from Buffalo to the Blues. 1st + 3rd + Halak (lesser starter mainly for salary purposes) + B level prospect.
Going by these two comps, a futures laden Hellebuyck to the Devils deal should probably look something like 1st + 3rd + Vanecek + Graeme Clarke (or Nolan Foote)...
At this point in time I'd probably rank Hellebuyck as the 8th best goalie in the NHL behind:
1. Saros
2. Shesterkin
3. Sorokin
4. Vasilievsky
5.Gustavsson
6. Oettinger
7. Ullmark</div></div>

ACGM is about discussing with a community whether certain moves would work and/or be viable. Obviously many of these moves have stated or implied circumstances, such as Winnipeg being sellers in this case. Personally I think it’s reasonable that they would be sellers and moving Scheif as they don’t have a sure fire playoff squad and he’s a UFA with little intentions to resign. Feel free to argue these points to your hearts content, but being condescending and rude while only using points that have merit by rejecting the implied premise of the post just makes you come across as a sad and lonely man with unresolved problems you’re projecting onto everyone here.</div></div>

Scheifele at the deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ennis</b></div><div>Slight issue, your team stinks.
They'll be a meek middle team and maybe just make it in, then lose in the first round again. If that's how Winnipeg wants to play their cards, and if that's how you're coping with the current state of your team, be my guest. But this return certainly isn't pennies on the dollar.
Also, sure, resign him if you want. Dude has a terrible attitude when it comes to losing and has never really won anything in his career. Scheif is overrated as hell. Not to mention he's never been that good of a playoff performer.
EDIT: Also making a trade and getting a return for a player who is most definitely NOT staying with your team is much better than holding onto them just to earn a couple extra bucks then lose in the first round. I actually have no idea where that logic even comes from man.</div></div>
Gosh, i guess you are incapable of grasping the concept. Not surprised. Best of luck out there, keep it classy

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ennis</b></div><div>More value in keeping him? You mean when he walks to FA like everyone else will? I mean… if that’s your strategy…</div></div>
My dude, its quite rudimentary actually. Allow me to enlighten you, its in fact quite common. Lets say the Jets are comfortably third or even second in the central at the trade deadline and the package offered here is the absolute best offer they receive (it for sure wont be though). If they were to trade away the players, in this case Scheifele and Hellebuyck for pennies on the dollar as suggested here, they would undoubtedly falter and likely miss the playoffs losing a chance at a playoff run and millions of dollars in revenue for the franchise. I have heard this referred to as 'internal rentals'. This is a far better "strategy" then making a trade which does absolutely nothing positive for the team anytime soon! The Vegas 1st rounder will be a late first that even if it hits wont contribute for 3-5 years. SO yes, there is greater value to the franchise and the city of Winnipeg to hold onto these assets and allow them to become Unrestricted Free agents which they have both earned that opportunity. With that the Jets now have 12.3 million in extra cap space. or they resign one or both because the market is tepid and there will be A LOT of UFA's next off season.
