Half of the Jets are actively being shopped and you pick none of them. Brilliant. The Jets don't even have time to discuss these players. Besides, if we're selling everything then I want to see multiple firsts coming back before we even talk.

Also how do you not have any kind of goalie and call this a contender. I don't know if either of these guys is even good enough to back up Hellebuyck. This is not a tandem.

A fourth and Brind'Amour isn't even enough to get the Jets to take Yamomoto, never mind get Demelo in return.

Wing Around the Rosie
I don't know why the Jets are shopping Connor but the value here is certainly interesting if that were the plan. It's like asking you what you want for Dylan Larkin though, I just don't think there's a deal to be made. Actually, Larkin is the main piece I would want for Connor. We both know that trade isn't happening though

Hellebuyck, Dubois for 1st, Byfield and "at least 1, likely 2 of the top 6 wingers"

Wouldn't you think that means Arvidsson instead of Kempe? Assuming we're taking this rumor seriously, that's how I would interpret it. As a Jets fan I wouldn't dare suggest the trade you have here.

I'm actually really proud of that one. The rest of the trades still need work but I really like the idea of LA getting one of the Jets' young LHD.

I'm not sure the Jets do, but it's close and it serves the roster building exercise for the Jets. I've had my debates with Habs fans already, I'll wait to see what we actually get

Fair enough. Last time I suggested Scheifele for Kuzy 1 for 1, and I guess I overshot. I definitely forgot how bad the caps were, thought their pick was 14th.

off season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChevelsDayOff</b></div><div>i forgot about his QO. the jets could prob squeeze more out of edmonton if they have to dump yamamoto’s contract but i still don’t think it’s a bad return. the 2nd is a wash, sure the 3rd is 2025 but an extra pick is an extra pick, especially if jets rebuild, and yamamoto is 6 years younger with potential upside
of course, if jets are running it back this year i’d prefer to keep nino lol</div></div>
Edmonton's pick next year will be later than the Jets pick. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a difference of 15 or more. Anyway, my main objection is that I think the Jets can get more for Nino if they want to shop him. If they move him it will probably be at the deadline with salary retention.
Yamomoto is younger, but he's not a prospect. There's little team control. At best you could see him as a high-upside gamble. If he has a breakout year he could be resigned, or flipped at the deadline. More likely he just becomes a UFA next year after the Jets pay him 3M to play on the third line all season.

Yamomoto is a liability, not an asset. His cap and QO are way too high. Plus the Jets have to wait for the picks.

Jets reacquire goalies
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Socal_King</b></div><div>If LA is trading those 3 assets and picks/ prospects not on the NHL roster already; they would have about $5m to sign 6 players to fill out the roster. One of those guys would be Vilardi and he'd take about half of the remaining cap by himself. Leaving $2m for one 4th line winger, a 3rd pairing LHD, a 7th Dman and (2) spare forwards. So it is highly unlikely that LA can afford both Winnipeg players even with Helle at 50%. The math just doesn't add up. Let alone killing LAs depth making them a two line team and still not tough enough to play against Edmonton and Vegas.</div></div>
Fair enough. I didn't do a corresponding LA AGM.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Durzi's trade value if fair. But I'm wondering why one year of Hellebuyck is so high? Three picks and more.</div></div>
One year of a consistently top-5 goalie at a good price. Here's been laboring behind a terrible defense and a lazy forward group. All scouts agree that he's better than his numbers, and his numbers are good every year. I don't think there is another goalie that can guarantee 55 quality starts every year. Other mid-tier goalies will be cheap, but Hellebuyck is the biggest name available in years. Plus, Hellebuyck really wants to win. Whoever gets him has all year to sell him on signing for multiple playoff runs.

Read the AGM. In this scenario Winnipeg takes back significant salary, retains 50% on Hellebuyck, and Dubois is signed to 8x8. Pay attention, jeez

I didn't want to start a fight about whether Byfield is available, but that would be the other piece I would want. Maybe a first, maybe another top prospect. There are lots of great young prospects in LA, and I don't want to argue about which ones are included
