They dont have to trade Parayko to get out of it. That is asinine.

No way the Oilers are giving up on AA for a 32 year old 3rd line C thats making 4mil and then is most likely gone after a year. Hard no.

Murray Pool Party
Could be a pretty good deal for the Oilers if Murray takes something in the 4-4.5mil range.
However I sincerely doubt he will do that so I think the Oilers pass on this, unless they find a way to off load Koskinen.

My take on Danault and what the Habs might do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>Please carefully read description then...
I literally wrote that what I'm suggesting would be at the trade deadline, so teams acquiring him would in fact be giving up late 1st's. I also wrote that the comparables I chose were of Centers traded at the trade deadline, and that Danault should be somewhere in between Hayes and Duchene (so a better return than Hayes, but less than Duchene)...
and calling him a Selke candidate is realistic because he literally finished 7th in Selke votes <strong>2 seasons ago</strong>, and it won't surprise anyone when we find out that he'll have finished higher this year.</div></div>
The 2nd first rounder in the Duchene trade was conditional on him re-signing. The only way MTL gets a single 1st for Danault is if its conditional on his re-signing as well. I could also argue that the Rangers got more out of Hayes than the Sens did for Duchene as picks aside Lemeuix was the best young player to change teams in either of the deals.

Your assessment is garbage. I dont even like Klefbom but he is at worst regarded as a low end #2 defenseman anywhere that you look by actual respected analysts. If you think Danault and Domi together are worth more thats fair enough, but to say he is on par with Mete and Kulak is an absolute embarrassment to yourself

Nobody of sane mind is buying Philip Danault and Matt Duchene being comparable players, you will see that when Danault gets his next contract. He's really good defensively yes but calling him a selke candidate is not realistic. Those other trades also happened at the deadlines when it was known that those picks would be at best in the late 20s, not before the season when literally anything can happen (see San Jose) and even still there was not multiple firsts involved. Come back to reality.

No NHL team is going to run 11/7 for an entire season. That is insane.
That said the deal with the Oilers looks pretty good for both sides.

He had nearly 50 points in a shortened season this year (and 2.48 5v5 P/60, good for 29th in the league) with near Selke level defense, and B. There isn't a legit top pair LHD going to MTL, or really even a guy who would even be an upgrade over Kulak/Mete</div></div>
You're to much of a homer to have this conversation. Saying Oscar Klefbom is comparable to Kulak or Mete is pretty embarrassing for you and shows that you have zero clue what you're talking about.

You're not getting two 1st round picks for a guy with a career high of 13 goals and 53 points on an expiring contract.

Youre completely out of touch if you think a 40pt forward with one year left is worth more than a top pair left shot D (which montreal desperately needs) on a team friendly deal for 3 more years. You're not even worth the discussion if thats where you're starting lol

Maybe, mayyyybe Domi is but that seems like a stretch. It seems at this point that aside from one year he is a high end 3rd liner thats going to score 15 maybe 20 and get 35-40 pts
Danault is not a 2nd line player on a good team. I like the player but a career high of 13 goals does not get you a second line designation.

You are criminally undervaluing Klefbom. This is a number 2 D-man on a good contract coming with a high end D prospect in exchange for what most of the league sees as two third liners and a 2nd round pick.

Put him on the 2nd line and make Draisaitl his winger or something. Dont put him on the 3rd...</div></div>
The feeling I got from his comments were that he doesnt want to be used as a shut down man. Playing him with Puljujarvi or Neal would give him an offensive player to work with and they would just use the Khaira line as their shut down line.

Value of Evgeny Kuznetsov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheFlamingC</b></div><div>AS an opinion based on actual hockey value. Alex Kerfoot is a reasonable comparison based on his numbers. I didn't pay a lot of attention to him this year so I can't say for the eye test. He's around a 33 or 34 point scorer which is more than Bennett but doesn't bring the same grit. Judging by his PIMs he doesn't look soft though. Those could just be dumb penalties however. I think that to actually acquire him it would take Hyman straight up. I know he is better but it would take an overpay in a trade to acquire him. I think that if you are going to get Bennett your best bet is as including him as a piece in blockbuster deal. That's the only way I see a reasonable (not overpayment) trade for him getting accepted. I'd prefer to add picks instead of him but I think that if it was a good deal and there was no way out of getting rid of him then it could happen.</div></div>
That would be a horrible trade or Toronto. Kerfoot is a significantly better player.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheFlamingC</b></div><div>What about in a Gaudreau based deal</div></div>
Thats worse as it hurts their center depth and they're already deep on the wings. Probably the same thing. Gaudreau+Valamaki+First+ center prospect
Washington just has zero reason to trade Kuznetsov so you would really have to blow their socks off.
