I tried to find middle ground with the comments but because I didn’t agree with the little boy, it is a **** post. Standard internet immaturity there, I accept that we can’t all be mature but next level ignorance will be ignored from me.

Are you saying that Pesce is worth way more than Kapanen? I wouldn't be surprised because pretty much every clown on this site thinks he's worth multiple top line players and pics and prospects. Because a 30 point defenceman is something everyone has to have. He's a good player and I don't discount that, but being a good player doesn't get a team a massive return.</div></div>
Actually I consider myself pretty humble. I do see your point about not getting a massive return for a good player. And I don’t see Kapanen landing Pesce and certainly not Pesce and a 3rd.

Jack Eichel vs Nathan MacKinnon
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HattrickKane88</b></div><div>You guys can't be serious. Eichel is clearly better. The difference between the two players is that MacKinnon gets carried whereas Eichel is the one carrying his useless linemates Reinhart and Olofosson. MacKinnon doesn't have Eichel's puck skills and speed. In fact, he isn't a very dangerous player at all. Jack Eichel is the clear MVP for this season, he is far better than Mario Lemieux in his prime.</div></div>
You’re entitled to your opinion, like I said I am a big fan of Eichel, give him better linemates and it’s pretty damn close. But calling Eichel better than Lemiuex? Come on, you better be joking ffs.

And this is a message board where the topic is trades right? Wherein exists a comment about one of the trades that I quoted, by you, in retort. I thought this was all pretty self explanatory,

I’m a huge Eichel fan and if he was playing with an elite winger like Rantanen I think it would be close but edge to Mack solely because I got to watch him close in the playoffs against my Sharks last year and I damn near pooped my pants every time Mack touched the puck, he is straight up scary good.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Spanky227</b></div><div>if he was a UFA i would definitely agree-- the rare case of him being an RFA will potentially drive up his price. His next contract is looking like it will be in the 4-5 million ballpark (he's on pace for 70 points so IF he keeps it up and posts 60+).. if you look at offer sheet compensation, anything over 4.2m (right now, will increase with the cap) is a 1st rounder and 3rd rounder. I think a team like Carolina would be a perfect fit for him-- they have two first rounders this year (toronto's from marleau deal and their own) plus they are a sure fire playoff team so it'll be a later 1st rounder. Only thing is that he is arbitration eligible next summer so if carolina doesn't wanna spend the cap on him he can become a UFA. but regardless, the extra season with a player is always worth more than a half season, even when it's ryan strome</div></div>
Ok. And I wouldn’t offer a 1st for him. That’s not changing.

Georgiev offers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Spanky227</b></div><div>i guess 60 games over 3 seasons means you aren't "proven". Or that he's improved in each of his seasons dramatically. Or that on a bad NYR team that allows 3.21 goals per game, he has a 2.72 GAA and a .920+ save percentage over 16 games (OMG SUCH A SMALL SAMPLE SIZE WHEN WE ARE ONLY 33 GAMES INTO THE SEASON).
I mean he definitely is getting up there in age and retirement is coming, it's not like he's under team control much longer, to be honest he's probably at most an AHL backup or an ECHL starter-- no way does he have a future in the NHL, he should really just retire cause he sucks so much [this is as accurate as your statement there buddy].
oh btw, he's ranked 16th in the league for GA% and GSAA which just implies he's just not good at all :huh</div></div>
Great. He isn’t proven over a full season yet. I think he is a good goalie but I wouldn’t be willing to offer a 1st or a blue chip for him and it’s not really even close. Sorry if you can’t take that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WalterT</b></div><div>Yeah, I definitely get why it's not this years 2nd, you dont want to wait until pick 80 something to get started. The Rangers have done that and it's why they are in the mess they are in now.
I'd love to see SJ and NYR work out something with Georgiev but it's tough for a team to bet a lot on a goalie who hasn't played a full season as the number one guy, and tough for NY to give him up for a light return and see him work out better than Shesterkin, which could happen.</div></div>
I came to the conclusion that NYR should keep both Georgiev and Shesterkin. Aaron Dell has actually been pretty good the last five starts and he's almost to a .900 save%, the first shark goalie to get there in almost two years! I think we really need a RW in the top 6 to balance the attack and take some pressure off Burns and Karlsson to put points up.
The sharks average pick in the last 20 years has been 28th overall if we even have a first rounder. Still NYR has a lot to look forward to in Rykov, Kravstov, Fox, maybe Andersson, K'Andre etc...really bright future there....I'm very envious of Kravstov, what a player, he reminds me of Chekhovich for us, surprisingly cut from camp and having a terrible showing in the AHL. Chekhovich had one point in 16 games after tearing up rookie camp, dev camp and training camp.

Kapanen Lundquist and Toffoli
The TO trade: Dillon is substantially more valuable than Marincin. Kapanen is substantially more valuable than Gambrell. So I think the trade is pretty much fair except SJ will likely need to give a mid round pick as well.
The LAK trade is basically bad. Firstly I think there are MUCH better options out there for SJ on the RW front. Secondly Dahlen is not a good trade piece. He is playing in the Swedish B league because he refuses to play in the AHL. A lot of teams are not going to like that and consider it an attitude problem. Dahlen is undoubtedly talented but he's a jerk as well. Also, as a Sharks fan I really don't like assisting the Kings rebuild with a very valuable pick for us and the aforementioned "toffoli is not that good".

Waiting until 2022 for the pick is what I dont really like. Because of that I might want to eliminate the 5th going back to SJ. And as the other poster said the Rangers could retain 50%, which would give you some wiggle room capwise..</div></div>
I would agree with that. Not sure if our GM would actually do that considering our lack of picks in a very good looking draft ahead. But Strome gives SJ that secondary scoring that it's really lacked all year.

I think his attitude issues would be less on a contender. He didn’t like the direction LA was going in and you really can’t blame him. I think he is a strong pickup for any contender.
