Because that team is awful. I would look into Labanc because he is a right hand shot forward which is what the Jets are lacking.

I'm staying clear from any SJS players. Kevin Labanc might be someone of interest but the results haven't been there to really say.

For once I agree with you. Garland would fit nicely with the other bad contracts Chevy has given out. Yes Scheif and Helle are worth those contracts now but in a couple of years they are going to be bad. Just like Wheeler's contract.

reports are saying that CLB is looking to trade one of their Dmen away to clear up the log jam on defense. I included Peeke because he is a a UFA in 3 years and Boqvist still has team control after his contract runs out. But would Jackets fans be more open to trading Boqvist over Peeke? not familiar with the Jackets.

And only one of Hart or Levi; Aiden Hill deserves a shot coming off Stanley Cup run (or other goalie that makes deep playoff run)</div></div>
So this is for 2026. I'm not sold on Aiden Hill. Yes he was unreal this past stanley cup run. But I want to see this guy be a full season number 1 goalie before I drink the kool aid. I will reference Jordan Binnginton from STL. Team Canada is hurting between the pipes. gone are the days where that was the strong part of Team Canada with the likes of Brodeur, Roy, Price, Fleury. Hart has the most promise as of right now. Levi has all the potential but again I haven't seen enough at the highest level to know what is there. But I think he still gets the invite and the 3rd string to get the exposure to being around the best.
Fantelli has already been invited to the World Championships so hockey Canada is high on him and rightfully so. This kid would have been #1 this year if not for Bedard.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GuyGuyGuy</b></div><div>Wow you are crazy to think that you could get Samsonov on top of Nylander</div></div>
If NYlander is asking for 10 no team is going to sign him to that. TOR isn't going to run the risk of losing him for nothing. Treleiving already lost Johnny Gaudreau for nothing when he was in Calgary he wont make the same mistake again. TOR would be getting their stanley cup calibre goalie. Hellebuyck would most certainly sign an extension in TOR. He has said he wants to go to a contending team and TOR is most definitely a cup contender for the next few years.

I think the value is close in the Calgary trade. The thing I would worry about is FLA doing something dumb and giving up ALOT to get Hanifin because they are really injured on defence.

The pieces going back to Philly are all pieces that are is going to help Philly and help the Jets get out of bad contracts. Also Chisholm is going to be like alot of WPG prospects where they didn't get enough playing time to see what they really were in the NHL lineup and they are casualties of poor prospect management. Management not wanting to have another Kovacevic or Mikey Essyimont situation happen where you lose them for nothing. Barron the same. I love the guy as a player but with Iafallo coming back in the LAK deal might spell the end of Barron. which is too bad.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jetman</b></div><div>Doubt Mercer comes but that Canes trade is terrible. I wouldnt trade Connor for just that</div></div>
WPG needs help on the right side defence!! Pesce would be so great with Morrissey or even Sanheim (if WPG happens to trade for him). Either way Pesce is a big need for WPG.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>YeahDudeitsChris</b></div><div>Only way NJ does this deal is if there is an extension in place in the 7 million range, otherwise its a pure rental and not worth trading the A level prospect in Holtz</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tintin</b></div><div>7m would still be very hard on the cap for Hellebuyck as he's already at the wrong side of 30.
If you cannot get him at a Kuemper level of an AAV the Devils should steer far clear of Hellebuyck.</div></div>
So I have seen alot of other ACGM teams and Holtz seems to be the guy coming back to WPG in a Hellebuyck trade. So I'm asking because I'm not familiar with the NJD prospects but is Holtz more untouchable than Mercer? or are they both non starters for Hellebuyck?
Also Hellebuyck has said that NJD is a place of interest for him. Also he signed a very team friendly deal in WPG to keep the squad together to make runs at Stanley Cups. Obviously that didnt happen but I can see Hellebuyck being that nice guy and sign a team friendly contract with a team like NJD that has a very strong future. $7-$8M would be very plausible.

LAK has been rumoured to be interested in PLD. The pieces from LAK I thought were more than fair. Turcotte hasn't played any NHL games yet. So I included him instead of the LAK #2 pick in Byfield.
MTL I think jumps on this to get out of the Anderson contract. Jets take it on because they need some grit.
OTT needs help on the RHD and Pionk is a good fit for them. They also would love a guy like Lowry. a 3rd line C that plays edgy like Brady does on the top line. That team would be tough to play against. Pinto is the odd man out. Ostapchuk is still a few years away from being NHL ready. OTT seems to be more win now than WPG does.

I was just thinking because both players have said they aren't going to re-sign maybe Scheifele comes in and signs an extension. He would be a nice complimentary piece along with Kadri. Also Appleton gives the Flames some speed and help on the right side. Appleton can play any line. He is also signed for 1 more year after this year. But thanks for your constructive input!

Yeah if MTL misses out on PLD but keeps Dach, Suzuki, and Caufield, that is a major win. PLD will sign a 8 year deal with a team and MTL will have missed out on him. There will be no wait till next year.

I think Carter Hart is very much what MTL needs. a goalie who would be part of the rise of the Habs. MTL would have their core forwards, their franchise goalie. now build the D corps and you have something really good there.

We are in the same boat with being really thin on RHD. Yeah I can see MTL packaging FLA 1st round pick to move up. Or bring in a younger player to keep help building your team. MTL is close once those aging contracts are off the books.

His best season was last in which he scored 63 pts. Thats not a 9 million dollar player, maybe unless 50 of those points are goals. And your right other teams will offer more and I don't believe in this draft Montreal will trade 5 overall</div></div>
According to the report from the Athletic because MTL isn't a contender the price for PLD would be closer to $9M. But he said for a contending team he would take less.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VladislavTretiak</b></div><div>I wish they let another team offer him 8 x $9m. PLD will whine within 2 years and we'll get him for the remaining 6 years of his contract at 50% retained.
I'm not a fan of overpaying for him. I feel sorry for you guys in Winnipeg. I wish you get what you want for him and that it doesn't come from Montreal. Anything beyond Anderson, CAL 2025 1st and Kidney qualifies as an overpay for me.</div></div>
If im a team like BOS, NYR, COL (contending teams) I would slightly over pay for him. The reason being these are teams that have strong leadership and have stars that can out shine PLD. But PLD is a player that has all the tools to be a 1C. We have seen glimpses of it. But because both markets he has played in he has been "The Guy". Whether that meant being a top 3 draft pick in Columbus and pretty much the only skilled played back when he was there. Or in WPG he was always labelled the guy who we got for Laine (who was loved by the fanbase) So he was always focused on. Which it seems he doesnt like.
I'm actually happy with that report that came out from the Athletic because it gives Chevy more leverage against other teams to actually get a decent return for him. kind of like the Tkachuk situation last year.
What would your thoughts be if the package from MTL be Justin Barron, Anderson, and FLA 2023 1st?

The only way PLD comes to NYC is if he signs long term at a cap hit they can deal with and they move out a big cap hit like Panarin. IMO, there is no deal for PLD that makes sense for the Rangers right now unless the Jets want Panarin.</div></div>
Trocheck is 29. NYR getting PLD would mean NYR having PLD at 25, Chytil at 23 down the middle!! Trocheck is easily traded away. PLD has been in 2 markets that he never wanted to be in. He has all the tools and skills to be a 1C!

Honestly I think Wheeler still has something left if given the right team. COL is definitely one of those teams. He can really help on the PP and provide some secondary scoring. Obviously at a retained salary like the example above.
