Quoting: FloppyBiscuit

I only mentioned PK, I think you brought up even strength, but I do think using TOI and +/- for PK is still pretty pointless. And even if things like corsi are more about offense (it does include blocked shots, so not entirely offense), wouldn't it be fair to assume controlling the puck and being able to turn that into offense while short handed may be indicative of better defensive play? Either way, I think Sturm's faceoffs and dZs% will make him a more valuable PK-er for Colorado. You could look at things as simple as goals against while on the ice short handed and Jost has been on the ice for 23 against compared to Sturm's 15.

I know JFresh cards are popular with people here and even these agree with what I'm saying that Sturm is better on the PK, more than I would've imagined TBH.

Jost: https://twitter.com/JFreshHockey/status/1503804488435613702?cxt=HHwWjIC-jd-Ny94pAAAA

Sturm: https://twitter.com/JFreshHockey/status/1503804118669869059?cxt=HHwWhoCykZz4yt4pAAAA

That's interesting, I didn't think it would be far apart either.

But possession and rate metrics are less useful than hits, blocks, giveaways, and takeaways for defensive comparisons.

Jost:
Hits - 44
Bks - 29
Gv - 9
Tk - 29

Sturm:
Hits - 61
Bks - 22
Gv - 11
Tk - 6

Sturm definitely hits more and is better at faceoffs. But Jost blocks more shots, gives the puck up less, and is really good at getting the puck back/takeaways.

Either way. I've liked Jost and wanted him on the Wild for awhile now, and am happy with the trade. Even though I will miss Sturm. I'm good with it.
