Metropolitan Divsion Predictions
Before the haters say their things, I would like to mention that saying "your ranking sucked you garbage" is pointless because anything can happen (we have seen it last year with NYI and CAR making the playoff). Good job I like your ranking and I think it could happen.

The value is maybe close, but Detroit wont win this season (meaning the atlantic is stacked). They have no reason to acquire Leddy. Chowloski his pretty good (LHD). IMO Detroit should (and will) continu their rebuild. That means keep young player and picks and trading away older player. Not acquiring them.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>This draft is going to be one for the ages. Incredibly excited for it, especially as a sens fan. First time in a while there's actually reason to get excited about being terrible, now that we don't have the pick from the Duchene trade looming overhead like the last couple of seasons. We've got our pick, and likely the best odds in the lottery, and 4 other picks in the first round including another 1st.
The draft may be in MTL, but it's Ottawa's draft all the way</div></div>
Fair enought Sens fans deserves a reason to be excited. Your lucky in a way it is almost sure the Sens get a top 5 pick :). I mean the draft is still in a year so A LOT can happen but the first 10 teams could get an elite player. Do you think Askarov could be a great fit for the Sens (since you dont really need D with Chabot,Branstrom,Thomson). Or maybe more a forward ?

At some point in the season are offense could look like this :
Tatar-Danault-Gallagher
Domi-KK-Suzuki
Drouin-Poehling-Armia
Byron-Weal-Lehko
Ok maybe having the 3 Kids is unrealistic still this lineup could put some goals :).

I would like to see this maybe at midseason or when Julien feel he is ready. That would allowed Poehling to play top 9 minutes (3C). Their is no rush as you can see with Barkov progression.

I'd love to see a team be bold enough to trade so they can get both. Such a dynamic tag team. Centering that line would be a slam dunk.</div></div>
Your right we will have the luck to see them play at the U20 ! You seems to know your stuff so I respect your opinion then. Still Raymond was amazing at the U18. Lafreniere, Byfield and Lundell + Raymond/Holtz and I havent talk about Askarov next year draft will be insane (in MTL my town + :) )

Aleksander Barkov 2nd season : 71 games 16 goals 20 assists for 36 pts. I like compare the progression of KK with Barkov because they are both 2 big two way finnish center with a lot of talent. If KK puts 40 + pts that would be a sucess !

Lets buy out Alzner now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>I wouldn't say buyout proof. If Alzner stays healthy and there's no way of actually trading him without giving a 1st + or whatever, buying him out next season or in 2021 is still a possibility that's digestible.
MTLs biggest contract management year in recent history will be 2021. It's the year of the Seattle expansion draft + major contract renewals will be due to <strong>A LOT</strong> of roster players. (Gallagher, Danault, Kotkaniemi, Poehling, Tatar, Petry, Lehkonen, Armia, and a few more.)
So the year you want to save the most cap from Alzner's contract has to be in 2021. (next year with only Domi, Mete, and Juulsen to worry about, Habs could still afford Alzner at a sizable cap hit.)
Here are the options imo with dealing with Alzner:
Keeping Alzner in the minors for the rest of his deal (until 2022) still has MTL absorbing $3.55mil in salary cap per year, saving them roughly <strong>$1mil</strong> in cap space a season.
Buying Alzner out next season (2020) would give a cap savings of <strong>$2.7mil</strong> in the 2021 season. the only negative of doing this is the $4mil cap hit next season, but that's almost the same as the $3.55mil cap hit MTL would already have for just keeping him in the minors. other than that, it would cost MTL about 800k for 2 more seasons after 2021, but if the cap is tight at that point, it would only cost MTL from keeping a depth player at most, so no biggie.
Buying Alzner out in 2021 would give a cap savings in 2021 of about <strong>$2.3mil</strong>, with a cap hit of $1.2mil the following year, but that's it after 2022.
So if Habs are looking for the most cap flexibility in 2021, buying him out next season makes the most sense. but a buyout in 2021 is still doable.</div></div>
Plz habs fan read this if you have 30 second the guy is right 100%. I like the fact that you project in 2 years (not a lot of fan/media are doing it...#gardinerfor6m)

exaclty...or 5 years (if we buying him out next offseason). Buying out Alzner right now makes no sense + we are not all in for the cup (and their is 6m cap space still free if a trade at the deadline becomes an option).

That would be the worst move you can possibly make when kids like Brook or Julsenn or Fleury could takes theses minutes. Mtl is not in a win now mode so they need to give minites to the younger player (who deserves these minutes of course). If there are injury Folin is already there at #7 spot.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ArakinSkywalker</b></div><div>Yeah completely hypothetical, and thats a decent value. Maybe after years of playing against each other in TO and Montreal they could work well together as a line</div></div>
Gally is the most hard working player on the Habs and he just made 2 30 goals season. Landeskog-Kadri-Gallagher could be an insane second line (and someone goes with Mack and Rantanen). Again wont happen but I would looking for a player like him if the Avs have a good start.

Maybe a team like the Stars could have interest. In a senario where Dallas is in the top 3 of their division and they want to go all in they could easily trade their 1st (protected) + one of Dellandrea/Roberson/Fellabher/Harley. We could also retain salary. Their top 4 could be Lindell-Klingberg and Heiskanen-Petry. Pretty solid with Bishop. That could sound a lot for the stars but I dont ask their best prospect (they choose who they let go and if we want him the trade work). Petry is not a rental too.

Mikael Granlund
I think your evaluation is wrong here. Grandlund is a clear top 6 forward in his prime. Nashville will give him a second chance for sure with maybe Duchenne. Fabbro will play on the second pair with Ehkolm they dont need a 3rd pair guy. (habs fan here) Maybe a Nashville fan could give us his thought but in my modest opinion Nashville easily declines.

Petry is better than Muzzin but the return the LA receive was insane (22nd ovrl + Sean Durzi + Carl Grundstrom). I would love that type of return for petry. This season in 59 games (playoff includes) Durzi put 14 goals and 50 assists for 64 pts in the OHL. Not a first pair potential but still good job by the Kings. So a first of any containder team this season (20-31 pick in the 2020 draft will have great value) + 1 or 2 solid prospect.
