Yes the Ducks would defenetly value Wilde over Mayfield IMO. Nothing against Mayfield but Wilde has more offensive upside.

On paper it looks better yes but I dont want to rush KK in top 6 min if he is not ready. Also Lehko would be a good fit with domi/drouin IMO.

I think teams prefer quality over quantity when your trading young player with a lot of potential (kase). Ducks declines IMO. The package is not bad but not good enought

The cap is hard to predict but 85m (+3,5m or +4%) seems a bit much. But we never know I guess.

Pominville fill
I dont want Pominville because he will only take ice time away off our younger player. BUT if we sign him my lineup would look like this :
Tatar-Danault-Gallagher
Drouin-Domi-Lehko
Byron-KK-Pominville
Cousins-Weal-Armia
If KK is ready for top 6 min than
Tatar-Danault-Gallagher
Domi-KK-Drouin
Lehko-Poehling-Pominville
Byron-Weal-Armia

Nice young team I loved it ! The Kings should do a retool for 1-2 years like this and they could be back as a legit team

Is this too lateral
(Habs fan here) The value is pretty fair Drouin for Matheson but we just signed Kulak and Chiarot for 3 years as or #2-3 LHD (behind Mete). So IMO we will keep Drouin and hope for a bounce back season unless a team is ready to give a LHD that is better than Matheson (that would be an overpaid). The way I see it the upgrade of Matheson over Kulak is not big enought to trade Drouin. Idk what the other habs fan was thinking but the value is their but like I said maybe not the best fit right now for the habs.

Tatar with a cap hit of 3,5m for a year and a half (not a rental) worth at least a first IMO

Jesse Puljujarvi's value at this point is (maybe) a 3rd. Or a conditional 2nd ? Far from a guy with top line ceiling. ANA wont move Kase unless the return is insane IMO

Mathieu Perrault dont have much value at this point. Overpaid bottom 6 guy and Win needs cap space. I cant see them trading him and get good assets back. Maybe a 4th ?

Minnesota Thoughts
Well with Vegas, Calgary and SJ, their will be one place left for Arizona Vancouver Edmonton and the 5th in the Central. So the pick has a lot of value. If it is unprotected, the Wild could take the deal. For Edm it would be a gamble but they have to do something. Good idea.

If everything pans out
I feel like next year is a win/win season for the Habs. Most of the core is still young an has some room to grow (KK,Poehling,Mete,Julsenn,Lehko,Domi,Drouin and even Danault). Either we go in the playoff and possibly a quick exit (that would still be nice to give experience to all our yougster. Either we miss the playoff and hopefully get a top 10 picks. Lafreniere,Byfield,Raymond,Holtz,Lundell,Perfetti,Lapierre,Gunler and the German (tim dont remember is last name sorry) are all elite potential forward and Barron/Drysdale are good D with elite skating. If we can get 2 first rounder (IDK how :)) it would be great. Also would be nice for the kids in Laval to have playoff.

Zucker has more value than this IMO. Solid two way forward that can play top minutes on a long term contract. He is still 27 too.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jpsnow13</b></div><div>Well you should care because MTL cant affort to have 17 millions on right defence alone with Domi and Mete to sign next year.</div></div>
Lets say we take Russel contract (4m) that leaves us with 2m cap space with a 23 player roster. Lets say the cap goes up 2m next year (makes 4m space) the Weise contract is gonne after this season so does Peca (2,3m +1,3m) (3,6+4 = 7,6m). + the mason buyout is done after this season (+1,3m) and we can replace Kinkaid by Primeau or Lindgren (800 000). We could have around 9m for domi and Mete without any trade. That not bad. The summer of 2021 will be THE year we need cap space with Gally-Danault-Tatar-KK-Poehling extansions ! I agree with you his contract his bad but if we get a good asset back ?

This is more a cap dump than anything else. I dont care about the player (Russel we can scratch him) it is more the possible assest that come with it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Goldninja0</b></div><div>The aim was for this year to be playoffs...</div></div>
Your right. The goal is to compete for a playoff spot but it will be hard with the top 4 in the Atlantic. So using our cap space for acquiring picks would be great. There is no rush to "make the playoff". Unless the kids are ready (wich we cant expect). Again, our core group (I dont need to put the name you know them) is VERY young. Let this group learn together and if they make the playoff good for them if they dont lets have a good draft and next year will be better.

IMO the top 4 in the Atlantic (Tampa,Boston,Toronto,Florida) should be in the playoff and MTL will battle with the 4th and 5th in the Metro.

In that case maybe trading for a similar player (in term of age and potential). Your right he probably wont play his hole career in Detroit !
