Brannstrom and Nugent-Hopkins

Created by: edvinlungren
Team: 2019-20 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 4, 2019

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Nugent-Hopkins trade make sense for Edmonton in my opinion because they NEED depth on their wings. Nemestnikov and Kreider are to solid additions to their lineup, and with some capspace left and Puljujärvi still to sign, they can make some moves and bring more depth. Dont forget about the first rounder either, tradebait or another prospect.
The Brännström trade makes sense to Ottawa because of their situation and rebuild going on. They get a ton of high draftpicks and some already promising looking d-men prospects. They wont miss Brännström that much i would think if they get that much back for him.
The problem and why this would never happend is beacause of how many draftpicks Rangers have to go up. The 2020 draft looks super good and deep and with no picks in the first 3 rounds i would think they can miss out on a or many good players. But as always, you win some and lose some. You have to risk to win. Otherwise, this would be a promising looking lineup for both the 19/20 season, but for the future aswell for the Rangers.
Keep in mind this is MY opinion of this players value, but it would be nice to let me know if a misjudged some of them. Have a great day!:D

  7. 2021 3rd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
If Brännström gets a vote for Calder Memorial Trophy after the 19/20 season, the Third round pick in 2021 will turn into a 2023 first round pick along with a fourth rounder the same year. If this happens, Ottawa will give Rangers a future pick between the third and the fifth round. It depends on Brännströms salary after his elc runs out.

Additional Details:

If Nugent-Hopkins resigns with the Rangers, the third rounder will turn into a second 2024 and it will add another third in the draft the year after.

Ottawa just gave up Mark Stone for Branstrom so IMO no way they trade him unless NYR inclue guys like Kakko or Kratsov.

Brannstrom is a top 3 D prospect, and at 19 he's someone you build around. That would be like NYR trading Kravtsov.

What stops a die hard Ottawa fan in the writers association from voting for Brannstrom for the Calder to seriously help the Sens?

It's funny when ACGMs make long explanations trying to justify their crappy one sided homer trades which is exactly what this is.

Ottawa should trade one of the VERY best defense prospects in the game for a 1st, some average prospects and mediocre picks? lol

The Oilers do need depth on wing but trading a guy who plays both center and LW for a couple rentals and picks isn't the answer, they'd be far better off just to send a 3rd (at most) for Namestnikov then trade RNH for rentals.. Lol
