<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMan_MTL</b></div><div>I totally understand your point of view on Drouin and I am not as down on him as the majority of the fanbase seems to be right now. That being said though, I believe playing in Montreal is affecting him negatively because of his style of play and the repercussions that has with media and fans. Drouin is a valuable player with skill, but I don't think Montreal atmosphere is where he is happiest and playing at his best. I think a change of scenery would benefit him greatly.
I also understand your point on Skinner being less valuable than Weber and being on a worse contract. But I think adding Risto and Skinner gives us more speed which we seem to have lost this year. And most importantly, speed on the defensive side. Risto can bring the play out of the defensive zone and add offense, I am not sure anyone besides for Petry can do that on rosters right now (possibly Romanov but it's a lot to ask of him at this time).
Thanks for your input!
G</div></div>
I agree about Drouin and the media circus that is Montreal lol. I just hate losing a valuable young player like him.
As for Skinner and Weber, why not just leave them out of the deal. I mean if you want to move Weber at least recoup something for him. Otherwise just structure a deal around Risto and Drouin. Taking Skinner while giving up Weber is too much just to get Risto back then you add in Drouin and we are majorly overpaying. Risto's value is similar to Drouin's anyway, though I doubt Buffalo wants drouin value wise your looking at a 1 for 1 maybe at most we add a 2nd or 3rd.

I am not sure I share your optimism of Weber retiring soon, and even if he does we will still have some of that contract on our cap. It's far from ideal.
Thanks!

the weber case is complex... it's pessimist to say he'll retired soon IMO
But if he retired before the end of his contract, it will be Nashviille to deal with cap issues; not montreal cause they are not the one who had make the contract in the first place

As much as I love DesLauriers and have a sentimental attachment to him, I'd take that as the Ducks GM.
I'll echo <a href="/users/CeceHuey" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@CeceHuey</a> in saying that you guys shouldn't even THINK about trading LaFreniere.

Buffalo would rather keep Skinner than deal with Shea Weber‘s contract. Drouin‘s value has never been lower, I would think they would rather send Risto elsewhere and not have to play him eight times next season.

I would do the deal without Andersson involved if that makes a lot more sense, with the same pieces going back.
Thanks for the input!

LA isn't trading Kempe unless there's a 1st coming back. Even then, probably not. He's a big piece of this team's future.

why not
as a Sabre fan, I would like this.... BUT....I don't think it's realistic.
The only way that I can see the Habs giving up that 1st rounder (even in this draft) if it's a condition 2nd - that would become a 1st if the Habs get to the Semi-Finals/Finals (and thats not even taking Lehkonen into account - which would need to be a part of the deal for cap reasons, IMO).
Simply put, if it was Hall (with 50% retained) for Lehkonen and Tampa's 2nd, that I could see happening.

No to Mete and no to Byron, who you'd need to pay BIG to get rid of if the Blues had any space to take him, which they definitely do not. Brook and a 2nd *might* get you to the table for Dunn after the season, but another team will probably beat that.

HABS rooster and lineup 20-21
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>math731</b></div><div>Maybe Fleury instead of Kulak but everything else looks perfect to me!
How would you place the players on the PP?
PP1
Suzuki : right wall
Drouin : behing the goal line
Tatar : left wall
Gallagher : Bumper/front of the net
Petry : blue line
PP2
KK : Right wall (one timer)
Anderson : front of the net
Toffoli : bumper
Weber : left wall (one timer)
Romanov : blue line</div></div>
I love the approach for the first PP. The second one I'd do same players but KK in front (that's where he really thrived in the playoffs), Anderson bumper (he's a power forward he'll shove his way in there), and Tofffoli on the right wall (because his release is lethal). I think the Habs will have Romanov and Weber rotate throughout the power play because Romanov played well coming up the left boards in the world juniors on the PP and Weber is more solid defenseively.

MTL - LAK
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMan_MTL</b></div><div>Fair enough. I thought Habs had more defensive prospects than offensive and LA the opposite so a swap would help even out both teams. I agree with Madden > Brook that's why I added Byron in because imo Byron > Amadio. I thought Byron would be useful in the bottom 6 and add some good speed to LA. Since Kings have plenty of cap space with everyone signed, I thought it would help both teams and Mtl gets a bit of cap relief/flexibility.
Thanks for your input,
G</div></div>
Yeah, not trying to say Byron isn't good, just that his contract for a younger player is available in the free agency and the Kings really aren't there yet. Maybe if Madden isn't a good fit they trade for Romanov? But no way the Kings trade Madden this season especially after investing in a good development coach.

Kings decline. Brook's value has tanked and Byron will be a liability once the Kings start competing in a year or two,. Madden was the main piece for the Toffoli trade, they aren't getting rid of him until at least giving him a shot in the AHL.

MTL get Tuch Detroit get Fleury Vegas get futures and cap for Pietrangelo
Montreal is giving up a lot of pieces. Tuch is a great player, but being generous we could say Helm cancels out Byron and that leaves this trade:
Montreal: Tuch
Out: Mete, Poehling, Hudon, Weal, 2nd, 4th
Poehling and Mete are decent pieces, so unless Montreal wants to dump Weal and Hudon you could probably take them out of the deal.
The goal from every team's perspective makes a lot of sense though. Having both Tuch and Anderson in Montreal would make them dangerous and adding in Pickard to back up Lehner is good. Fleury in Detroit would also really help them out.
