What’s your plan for Dustin Wolf? Someone’s gotta go and I can’t imagine many teams will be racing to get Markstrom, and nobody really has the roster spots or the cap space too besides Buffalo and tanking teams.

I really think Botterill would be worse than him haha. Although his tenure is sorta aging well now. He really burned so many assets in Buffalo

I can’t be that far off right? The Flyers 2nd will be high plus you’re getting another 2nd and another goalie prospect who was the highest goalie picked last year, plus a scratch off ticket in Weissbach who might have a chance to be a decent depth player

Return of the Moose
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Flames decline. Weissbach is kinda just Phillips 2.0. He will be 24 for next season and turn 25 before June 30th the following summer. If he doesn't play 80 NHL games by then he will become a Group 6 UFA in a year. So in that sense I really don't think he carries much trade value at all</div></div>
What's the price? I assume that one of Markstrom or Vladar are going to be moved to make room for Wolf

Find me a comparable player who’s 24 years old on a good contract, 50 point pace, who doesn’t get a 1st round pick in return. He’s taken a huge step this year

I’ll agree to disagree although i agree Johnson has played right d in college. This isn’t college and can we afford to re-up Chychrun in two years after power dahlin and forwards? I highly doubt it</div></div>
Teppo Numminen was the only RHD on the 05-06 Sabres and they were just fine. Handedness does not matter. Great defensemen can play on both sides, it’s a non issue

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Finn2016</b></div><div>How you extending Power and Dahlin and now you have 5 left D</div></div>
Handedness is the dumbest argument. Dahlin can play the right side, and Power has shown he can as well in a limited sample size this year too. Johnson has played on the right side a ton at Minnesota as well. Also, they’ll figure out the salary cap. In this scenario, there’s like 12 million coming off the books in the following offseason.

Sneaky deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Buffalove</b></div><div>Bc they have Stone & Lehner on LTIR
Putting 14.5mil on LTIR didn’t open up $28mil in Cap space
It simply gives them the option to be able to add $8mil in Cap bc with them on LTIR their Cap is down to around $73mil
VGK is already using some of the $14.5mil in relief from taking them off the active roster & putting them on LTIR
<strong>If we were to send them Bishop, it doesn’t give them an additional $5mil in Cap space</strong>
Don’t believe me….
Make a VGK acgm for this year & do NOTHING to it
You’ll see they have just under $9mil in available Cap Space
Now trade Bishop to them for nothing
Now they have just under $4mil in Cap space
Move him to LTIR and they are right back to having the EXACT SAME Cap Space they had before they acquired him
Again, this isn’t that difficult, just a bit complicated to figure out the fine points
But the bottom line is that adding Bishop doesn’t create more Cap Space for a team
Take 5min to learn a bit more about how LTIR works bud
That’s the best explanation i can give ya</div></div>
Why are you so angry?

Sneaky deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Buffalove</b></div><div>Ppl seem to think that putting a player on LTIR gets you extra Cap Space
And it does NOT
Let’s say NYR has Zero Cap Space, and they acquire Bishop
This is a problem bc their Cap goes up almost $5mil- now putting them OVER THE CAP
In that case, they can put Bishop’s Cap Hit on LTIR, so that they’re no longer over the CaAll it does, is acts as if Bishop’s Cap Hit never existed
Once again, it absolutely DOES NOT create an additional $5mil in Cap space
So in this instance,
acquiring Bishop does not benefit the Rangers in ANY AY whatsoever
IT’S BEEN YEARS NOW
There’s no excuse not to know this rule by now
And this Website makes it EXTREMELY EASY to figure out ffs</div></div>
Take it easy man. Care to explain why Vegas has 8+ mil in cap space right now?

If you want to add Benning I'd prefer more picks. Benning is on an incredible contract with 3 years AFTER this at 1.25 AAV as a middle pairing shutdown pairing. Him and Vlasic have I believe the 7th (?) best xGA rating among D-pairs. It would take a pretty big return to convince the Sharks to part ways with him.</div></div>
I figured Leinonen would be wanted since the Sharks are apparently interested in adding another goalie prospect according to the latest 32 thoughts article

They’re getting another 2nd round pick
Olofsson could fetch another 2nd round pick in a trade
