Detroit accepts.
Nurse doesn't waive for Pittsburgh.
And Filip Hallander just signed a 5 year deal to play in his native Sweden, So you can't trade his rights, As more than likely his NHL career is over.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JSEB93</b></div><div>Agreed. Unless they realize in the offseason that those injuries he suffered in the back half of this season are chronic and he'll never be fully healthy again - he's going to be the Penguins starter. And honestly, I'm okay with that. I don't know why a large chunk of this fanbase acts like he's terrible. A healthy Jarry is probably in that 8-10 range of goalies</div></div>
I'm coming around to this idea. I just think we need a new backup if Jarry comes back. And it would have to be a cheap prove it deal for Jarry

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensfan303</b></div><div>PP was a disaster last season, Even if JT doesn't produce at the same rate 5v5 than Guentzel, his presence on the PP would help big time. He still had 43 points at 5v5 and 9 shorthanded which isn't bad at all when you add the PP production. JT has gotten a bad rep recently which wasn't really deserved. zucker had 39 pts 5v5</div></div>
The power play can be improved without sending out our best winger (a perenial 35-40 goal, ppg player) for someone on a contract bad enough that his team's fans can't stop trading him before it even kicks in.

As far as I'm concerned, Miller is not going to hold the same value Guentzel does to the Penguins unless his career '21-'22 year becomes his norm in the short term.
Miller gets a bad rap because he capitalized off a stellar season with a contract extention that he probably won't be worth again. He's a great player, but his days of the impact and stardom Jake has are more likely than not over.
Even if their value was equal - which it is not - then it still makes no sense IMO. The Pens' issues are in their depth, not the top of the lineup. We're trading away the best winger Sid's ever had for a long period of time while he's in his prime. Why fix what works? Last time we did that, Mike Matheson and John Marino stopped being Penguins.

Kuzy is interesting to me. I've done some ACGMs where the Avs bring him in. Just gets tricky planning for a Toews extension and bringing Landy back in '24 without significant retention.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockeyfan1234</b></div><div>Nah pens accept this. Marner is over a ppg and would move Rust onto 3rd line duty making the 3rd line way better. Murray can be bought out. His buyout is actually even better than Granlund as it’s cheaper this year AND only 2 years as opposed to 4.
No way. I’d rather do the trade and buyout Murray as opposed to buying out Granlund. Murray’s buyout is shorter and cheaper this year.</div></div>
The 3rd line needs more than just rust. with 10.5 or whatever marner makes, you can revamp the whole 3rd line. I would much rather have a mix of Erod, Bunting/Bertuzzi and another piece to the bottom 6 than just Marner. Yes Marner is a Great player. But the pens need depth and not top end power rn

PIT Trade 14th Overall
While as a Wings fan I say yes, I highly doubt Pens make this deal as the cupboard is bare and Pens need to invest in talent in the draft.
A mor elikey scenario is Wings take Petry and the 1st and trade Pens the Islander pick you drop back slightly but rid a cap problem. But not sure what Stevie's plan is in FA.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tonyhzs</b></div><div>I think a more likely scenario would be Petry and the 1st for the Islanders pick. I'd only do it if one of Pelikka, Moore, or maybe Leonard is still there.</div></div>
The Pens 1st for NYI 1st would be around a 50 point difference. That is equivalent to a low 2nd. Still too much for Petry.
If it was Pit 1st and Petry for NYI 1st + Det 3rd it would be the equivalent of Petry + a mid 3rd for nothing. That might make sense.

PIT Trade 14th Overall
The Pens pick is worth 300 points
Detroits second is worth 89
The 4th and 5th are essentially a wash
So you're saying Petry with retention is going to cost around 211 points which is equivalent to the 21st overall pick.
Are you insane? It would be easier to buy him out. Petry with retention should bring something IN not cost a 1st

Regardless of playoff outcome
Anaheim doesn't give up McTavish for 1 year of Nylander.
That's zero disrespect to Nylander. Anaheim is just in no position right now to be trading for pending UFA's unless they are gifted to them.
There will be teams who pay nicely for Nylander. Anaheim will not be one of those teams.
