I give it two years before San Jose is looking to unload his contract.

Both of 50 his point seasons came in contract years. Buyer beware.

This is a good deal for Evander Kane! I really do want SJS to do well, their fans deserve it for sure. This is way too much money for his services. I don't see how they can be happy. He got an extra ~$1.5M - $2M for a truly solid 2.5 weeks from Feb 27th to March 16th racking up points 10 points in 8 games against clearly top opponents like EDM, CHI, CGY, DET. He's a fine player, both sides are better off together vs apart, but he's not worth $7M a year...not worth $6M a year.

I know that San Jose had a lot of cap space, and Kane was an upcoming UFA in a shallow market, but man, that is a lot of money to commit to a player who's never hit 60 points.

This will trigger people
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kaljakori</b></div><div>Let's be fair here, the second trade is realistic. If it was a Garth Snow trade. Swapping mediocre and/or high-level pieces because reasons.</div></div>
Well convincing Toews and Seabrook to waive their NMC's would be a pretty hard thing to do. Sure, maybe value is fine if you analyze every little factor of skill, etc but the off ice factors completely null this offer. The biggest being the NMC's but there is also the fact that both guys are fully entrenched in Chicago right now. Unless they secretly want out, I can't fathom them wanting to come to MTL if they do waive. Plus If they knew Weber and Pacioretty would be leaving also wouldn't help either. They'd be reasons for players wanting to come here.

People getting triggered? Yeah that usually is what happens with bad trades.

How I project the Bruins 2 years from now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockey44</b></div><div>why not. Both lucrative contract and the hawks need a depth forward and bruins could use a good offensiveish minded d-man to krug and Mcavoy</div></div>
Seabrook is signed till he's 40. Krejci is only a few more years. Right there should be enough but going further, Krejci is still useful and his game won't drop if he slows down. he can still dangle and control a PP. Seabrooks game is declining due to his foot speed which is normal as you age. He's not even that offensive really. He put up decent points in Chicago over the years but he also had an arsenal playing with before. Now that his foot speed is getting slow, a lot of what made him good is feeling the effect.
IMO I'd rather keep Krejci for 3 more years then be stuck with Seabrook until he's the same age as Chara is now.

Johnny T in Buffalo?
You'd massively overpay Wilson for 4 years but then sign Reinhart to a fair value on a bridge deal? I also understand you are clearing cap but Girgensons and Larsson are not going to be that easy to pawn off. Lehner is worth much more than that. Smith is getting a million dollars besides never proving anything at the NHL level, why not resign Redmond at that point too? Its an interesting idea but i dont get these values.

Back Up Rask 1
I don't know where to begin. First, Sweeney would be fired on the spot for this deal. Boston is giving up a young 70 point scorer and a 1st and 3rd for a Back Up goalie and a 1st? Does Boston make more deals to try and replace Pasta? What are your proposed lines after this deal?
