I think you're mostly correct but I do think the Bruins will probably trade for a top 4 lefty d-man and might try to find a way to ditch Krejci's cap hit of 7,250,000 because they'll need the money for the young guns

Huh? Don't think that would be wise.

Oh for sure man, I also just didn't want to cause dispute because it's kind of hard to project contracts and stuff 2 years from now. I was making a massive Noah Hanifin deal then decided to just revert it. I think one of Zboril or Vaakanainen will be gone and replaced by a top 4 LHD. I could see Jonas Brodin in Boston as a darkhorse trade as well

why not. Both lucrative contract and the hawks need a depth forward and bruins could use a good offensiveish minded d-man to krug and Mcavoy

By the way, I seriously don't think any NHL team (besides maybe Arizona/Carolina) will take on that Krejci contract, especially because of his declining game. He could be a third liner 2 years from now for all we know (doubtful, but possible). Gonna have to retain salary for sure

Seabrook is signed till he's 40. Krejci is only a few more years. Right there should be enough but going further, Krejci is still useful and his game won't drop if he slows down. he can still dangle and control a PP. Seabrooks game is declining due to his foot speed which is normal as you age. He's not even that offensive really. He put up decent points in Chicago over the years but he also had an arsenal playing with before. Now that his foot speed is getting slow, a lot of what made him good is feeling the effect.

IMO I'd rather keep Krejci for 3 more years then be stuck with Seabrook until he's the same age as Chara is now.

He actually had a pretty great season especially considering he was playing with rookies most of the year (He has 17 goals and 44 points in only 64 games). He's definitely declining but, I don't see him as a third line center in a couple of years at all unless injuries derail what's left of his career which is entirely possible considering his injury history. Only problem is his cap hit is too high to resign our young guns and keep him under contract.

You got a couple weird, weird, contracts.

Heinen getting 4 sheets likely isn't going to happen unless he has a 60 point season next year. He'll probably get around 2-2.5. Donato at just under 5 is also kind of odd. He wont have arbitration or offer sheet rights so he'll probably get 2.5-3 if that. He might not be high scoring guy we think he is. Small sample size and he looked lost in the playoffs.

Vaak in the NHL is optimistic, Vaak on the top pairing is a little bit absurd.
Did Grizz up and quit hockey? He was a huge part of the team this year.

He said top four d man, not a healthy scratch. Seabrook is AWFUL and possibly the worst contract in the NHL right now.

Paul Stasny
Derick Brassard
Kyle Turris

Same ball park. All were traded. MANY teams would want Krejci & they could get a good return. They would have to add a prospect or eat some salary, but to think nobody would want him in incorrect. If he stays healthy he will be 45-60pts for the life of his contract.

If the Bruins eat 2m they could get a low 1st or high 2nd/ decent young player/prospect - Colorado for example. 5.5m for krejci for next three years would be great for them...
