To sell or not to sell
I think the contention window for this team is longer than most people think. There are a lot of great prospects in the system who will get time soon and hopefully recreate our 2015 run. As for this season in particular its kind of a weird dilemma because its hard to see this team winning a cup but if we were to go for it I would want us playing guys like groshev goncalves and thompson who can make an impact now. This team has what it needs to be a contender they just need to look from within. The players they would be looking at near TDL would not be better than the prospects in the system now. Also this is a hot take but I think the team is better off without jeannot and sergachev so I expect is to regress when they come back

Chicago Blackhawks signed Corey Perry (1 Year / $4,000,000 AAV)
I imagine the conversation went something like this KD- "Corey, we'd really like you to play for us next season and give us some veteran leadership" Perry-"**** no, I want to win another cup" KD-"I'll give you 4 million dollars" Perry-"where do I sign?"

Startlingly low AAV, in my opinion. A player who has proven himself (at least to me) to be a solid bottom-6er. Good deal for both player and team.

Excellent deal for both parties. 800k is less than what I thought he would get. If you aren't familiar with his game, a VERY similar comparison is Brandon Hagel, but with better stickhandling. I would not be surprised if he becomes a very solid top 6 forward. He has a high ceiling, especially now that he is playing in Tampa. Congrats ACE!!!

I think it you went Perry-Stammer-Eyssimont you'd have more it a "roll all four lines" setup.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hedman4Norris</b></div><div>Fleury was like a non option at the beginning of the season but as time has gone on he grew those few games where Hedman was out or serg or Cerny was out he stepped up I'm a fan definitely in his corner for him to be in our top 6 next season our blue line will probably be set in stone for next season nothing to really add Just gotta get a back up under 35 for the love of *** & resign Colton & jeannot to decent deals after that I'm happy</div></div>
Yeah I think Fluery has earned a regular shot at 3LD. Yup get those two signed. Hugo probably comes up next year. We need to sign Ace and Im happy with bringing Belly and Perry back. Obviously you want to give guys a shot. Ryfors, ABB, etc. But With our limited budget, I would rather stick with what we know and keep the chem together. All up in the air tho, my thoughts for the last few spots up front could change

hahaha yeah I feel you. Perry hasn't been visible for weeks, he needs a chair for a game or more. He's back in the lineup come ploffs. He's too clutch and a needed vet. Unless Ace finally starts to put some points on the board. I love Ace and we are better with him in the lineup, but it feels like he's just the odd guy out right now. Jeannot probably won't come out because he's needed for physicality and intimidation. Man IMO Fluery has been really solid and has grown as the year has gone on

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hedman4Norris</b></div><div>I'm not against it we've been playing like garbage I liked the physicality & spirit of most of the roster last game but my gosh we screwed up basic fundamentals & my jaw hit the floor</div></div>
I know its been a frustrating stretch to watch. Fundamentals out the window. We just arent hungry or focused. Sergachev undisciplined, not thinking, turnovers, too risky on the powerplay. Hedman has had countless turnovers lately. Kuch and Stammer have been lazy defensively, both 5v5 and on the pp. Coop needs to send a bigger message. Top dawgs need to watch the rest of the team get lit up against Carolina so they can get their heads back in order and go back to leading the team in their own ways/roles. I thought Raddysh played much better today than Thursday. And man I havent seen much film on Eyssimont, but I already love this kids game. He made some mistakes today but that happens at first when you're giving your all to show the team what you've got and are adapting to the system. Really like the direction he's pointing after only 1 game.

Finally, Perbix will be matched up with Rielly; mismatch number 4.</div></div>
dude did you really just say Jeannot isn't scaring anyone in the corners come on. I'm a Leafs fan, and so naturally I think our team is good enough to win the series, but it'll be extremely close and could go either way. Lets try not to be complete homers.

Picking up a steal before the season starts
Signing a Steel, Milano,, Motte etc wouldn't be a bad idea, both for the first couple months this season but also, if they could sign them for more than one year, for next year when they will need cost controlled depth even more. When Cirelli and Bogo return, the team would need to shed either two of the depth pieces in this lineup or Myers. Either way, probably no big loss. The only other thing is Foote is not close to being ready for top pairing minutes. He showed minimal flashes of what he could be last year, but he's still a 3rd pairing guy to start the year imo. If Myers excels up there then maybe they keep him, if not they can try either Cole/Fleury up there as well.

What does he get
How much do we think point is going to get next summer? Now that we traded Johnson and Palat will be off the books we should have plenty of money. My guess is 9M for 8 years. That is in between Stamkos and Kucherov/Vasilevskiy. He probably could probably get over 10 on the open market but will probably take less like everyone else.

So long Yanni. Thanks for the 2 cups.
As good as he was these past two seasons. Was he all that handy before we added Goodie and Coleman? I remember think the 5mil and the NTC were a bit much.
I'll be sad to see him go but he was 3c and we had to get cap compliant eventually.
