Oh yes I remember now. I forgot about how AZ is so concerned about conserving their limited cap space and has no interest in picks or young players with upside.

Zacha was a different situation. He had a much higher qualifying offer and has higher upside being a top 10 pick. My guess if Boston were to get sharangovich would be a 1 year deal around 2.25 with an extension coming part way through the season of 3.75 x 3 or 4.

Kuznetsov scored 55PTs on the 8th worst team in the League last season he’s easily a 1B/2A Center on any team in the NHL, saying he doesn’t have any value or has low value at 50% is just stupid.</div></div>
Maybe a kuznetsov super fan account isn’t the best source for an unbiased opinion on his value.

Who says hill doesn’t ask for upward of 5 mil on the open market. He just carried Vegas to a championship, and he’s probably the #1 free agent goalie. The guy’s gonna get paid and look at Colorado, they didn’t keep their cup winning goalie around. I’m sure Vegas would love to keep Hill, but they could easily end up paying more for him than they would for Ullmark (the much more proven goalie) if they ended up in a bidding war. And as long as they have Lehner on LTIR (which seems indefinite) they don’t have a 5 million dollar goalie on the books.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pens1991</b></div><div>If the B's want to sign Bertuzzi, Swayman and Orlov (as it seems rumored they'd like all three) they'll definitely have to move Hall.
I also think you're highly overvaluing his price tag. B's traded an AHL player and a second rd pick to Buffalo for Hall retained at 50% and Lazar. He's two years older now and was hurt last year. He's worth a 2nd at most.</div></div>
The situation when Hall was traded out of Buffalo was completely different. He was a UFA at the end of the season and had openly said he wanted out and would only go to Boston so Buffalo had no leverage at all. And the Bruins are not planning on resigning Orlov, I don’t know where you heard that. I think a fair return for Hall would be POJ and a 2nd.

Bruins take POJ and a 4th for Gryz any day of the week but Hall is gonna cost more than just a 3rd. It’s not like Boston needs to trade Hall to get that money off the books, they’re are plenty of other directions they could go so they would only move him if they got an enticing offer.

I think an Ully to Buffalo trade is very possible. Boston definitely accepts that return but they would prolly be more likely to ask for Mittelstadt in a return than draft picks.

I really hope Boston doesn’t settle for a mediocre return like that in an Ullmark or Gryz deal.

I was responding to this comment that is seemingly insinuating that there’s no chance Lindholm resigns in Boston.

No one. But Boston has been a historically popular for players to sign long term deals after being brought in via trade.

Really? I was thinking they’d be in the market for a LHD to play on the second pair with Marino or the bottom pair with Smith to bump Bahl out of the lineup. Then you could have Siegenthaler Hamilton, Gryz Marino, and Hughes Smith, or Hughes Marino, Gryz Smith. Gryz fills the hole left by Graves, seriously bolsters that left side, and gives Hughes some shelter from having to jump right into the top 4.

As a Bruins fan I wish it wasn’t the case but that’s the price you have to pay for long term salary retention in the market. Cap space is a most valuable asset.

Mittlstedt trade
All good points. As I bruins fan that’s just a trade I’d love to see. And I feel like Ullmark would be more likely to keep Buffalo off of his 15 team no trade list seeing how much they’ve improved the talent on their team and their team culture in general.

Mittlstedt trade
It’s true that he would likely regress but it would be unfair to say he hasn’t improved since leaving Buffalo and the boosted numbers are just a result of a better defense. Even just between his first and second year in Boston he showed massive improvement, and that’s in front of essentially the same defense.

Mittlstedt trade
Why not? Buffalo has plenty of young top six forwards like Thompson, Cozens, Quinn, Peterka, Krebs, Tuch, Skinner, and Olofsson. They could spare losing Mittelstadt and he only has one more year til RFA. But they desperately need a true starter and Ullmark would help them make the jump to being a real contender.
