It's obviously just pre-season, but I have no been impressed by Poehling. Poulin on the other hand has looked very good and I'd be happy to eat crow on him.

If they can minimize Carter, Rust, Letang PK time as much as possible that would be such a boost.

I know I'm being a homer right now, but I truly believe that if the big guys stay relatively healthy, i.e. Sid, Geno, Letang, Jarry, Rust and Jake, that this team can challenge any team in the league.

Poulin Might Make The Team
Poulin has only played one preseason game. He's on leave for a personal issue of some sort. I'm not going to say that means he'll get cut, but I'm not as optimistic on his chances of making it.
Also, with Caggiula's play in the preseason, I'm surprised he was cut. I'd rather have him on the NHL roster than Archibald.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hullsy09</b></div><div>How do you see Dach and Dvorak sharing the ice. Is Dvorak 2C while Dach is 3C?</div></div>
I think the 2nd and 3rd lines will get equivalent ice time. Dach <em>could</em> outproduce Dvorak but it's really hard to predict, while Dvorak had a down year when Ducharme was the coach and his linemates changed every game but he returned from injury with a near PPG pace. He's a safer bet.

Lines to start the season assuming carter will be out for a bit
I think this is pretty close, so the only thing I'll nitpick is while I know Sully likes to keep Blueger with McGinn, I'll be curious to see he keeps him on the 4th or slots him with Heinen and Kap.
On a general note, DOC, Zohorna and Puustinen have all looked good, so I'm very curious how they're going to make their decisions.

He is a Hextall signing so I see him sticking with the Pens at least through this season. Things can change next off-season.</div></div>
Hextall already tried to move Blueger, so I wonder if they'll try again. I think that would be a mistake, but they have a lot of options for 4C that may be a suitable replacement. Even Poulin has moved to center in camp and supposedly he's shining at center.

How things would work with Puustinen
Love these lines, putting a young guy with Crosby can make a star. I think that 1st line has a ton of potential and if it's clicking they should give it a shot. I think playing the youth more this year could be the difference between an early exit and a cup run.

Sounds to me like POJ will get his shot and then if he fails a trade will be made to make room for smith</div></div>
It's possible. My guess is either POJ or Ruhwedel is gone.

If it works for the rest of camp and preseason goes well for Puustinen then Sully should 100% consider giving him the spot over Poehling or O'Connor or maybe Hextall trades McGinn to make room

Of the three options - I'm going #2 for sure. I'm not against the idea of playing Zucker with Sid, i think he can be a Kunitz type player - but I would prefer if it was in place of Guentzel and reuniting the 59/71/17 line to create a dominant 2nd line.

I’d say scenario two would be most likely. I think Poulin would really have to go off in camp and preseason and/or injuries for them to give him a shot at the beginning of the season. Zohorna has looked good too and seems to have gained a step. I just think there is not enough spots without injuries.

My only question with your line ups with Poulin is can he play on the PK? Otherwise it is Blueger-McGinn and Carter-Rust? Wouldn't want to overbear Rust with PP and PK time.

I guess Zucker and Rakell fill up those 2 top 6 spots, and Heinen and Poehling fill the bottom 6 ones. Would be so cool if one of Poulin or Puustinen could crack the lineup.
