If it works for the rest of camp and preseason goes well for Puustinen then Sully should 100% consider giving him the spot over Poehling or O'Connor or maybe Hextall trades McGinn to make room

Looks good except put garbage bust POJ on waivers or trade him for futures if anybody wants that weakling

I would love this, Puustinen playing on the first line making 842.5k gives us so much lineup flexibility and depth

Again it’s only been a couple days of camp so it’s still unlikely

Give POJ the chance, if it doesn’t work trade him for best offer and let Smith run with it

Dude you need to seek some serious help for your POJ obsession

Some interesting quotes from Hextall...

Quote:
When asked if players like Ty Smith and Drew O'Connor are at a disadvantage because they are exempt from waivers, Hextall replied, "We want to put the best team on the ice that we can on opening night. So if they're part of it, we're going to try to find a way."

Quote:
Ron Hextall said he really likes the mix they have on the blue line. "But we have nine NHL defenseman, and they can’t all play. So we have some tough decisions, quite honestly." He said obviously they have some ideas, but aren't sure how it will play out.

Quote:
Ron Hextall said another trade isn’t out of the question before the season begins. As always, the Penguins will continue exploring all options.

My biggest takeaway from Hextall speaking today was his comments on POJ

Ron Hextall on P.O Joseph: "He’s spent enough time in the minors now where it's time to come up and show us what you can do at this level."

Sounds to me like POJ will get his shot and then if he fails a trade will be made to make room for smith

It's possible. My guess is either POJ or Ruhwedel is gone.

Even if we trade Ruhwedel, smith is still in the ahl which feels wrong

I don't know. I haven't read any reports through camp aside from day 1 where I heard he didn't look so great.

Love these lines, putting a young guy with Crosby can make a star. I think that 1st line has a ton of potential and if it's clicking they should give it a shot. I think playing the youth more this year could be the difference between an early exit and a cup run.
