The advanced stats don’t mean sh*t he does not produce at all especially compared to all the guys around him on that list, he is visibly bad at controlling the puck and tries to be Jack Hughes and his defense isn’t that great either, last season he was good if he can be that player fine but he hasn’t been he needs to go

I agree, I think Graves and Okhotiuk are both good and I thought Okhotiuk had a great game but Okhotiuk needs to be on a different pair. One change I would make though is I would put Zetterlund in woods spot on the PP

I disagree Zetterlund is great for the Hughes line and Mercer fits on the 3rd line cause he can shutdown and forecheck but also score points. Everyone thinks Zetterlund is a 3rd line grinder he is actually a speedy high scoring player when he is with the right people

I disagree, the Hughes line last night was great and easily their best forward line. The reason they lost was cause the defense took a night off they were awful, leave the Hughes line together

I agree those 3 players seem to have much more impact when they r together and the Ruff broke them up last game, they need to stay together for a few games to get back in their rhythm.
As for Zetterlund he does score he was just buried for a bit before he was scratched and he is much better than boqvist. Boqvist needs to come out and Zetterlund needs to come in

To Ruff they are he changes the lines constantly during games. But good, cup winning teams have guys that have been playing on a line with each other for awhile cause it develops chemistry which is a massively underrated part of keeping lines together

Pls fire Lav
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>All_Knowing</b></div><div>While I certainly agree with you on most stuff, after the game, Lavy was asked about the lines. He stated that on this back to back, they were trying to get speed on all 4 lines. Doesn't matter about the line number, but wanted to focus on speed throughout the lineup. And honestly, I don't disagree with that, especially on a very difficult back to back. To prove he was actually forming up lines the way he said he was, Kuzy had the 2nd highest ice time. And actually played pretty well.
As far as NAK, Lavy stated he wanted someone physical (and fresh) to come in and win board battles for the top players. And honestly, again, I think NAK did a fantastic job last night. Yes, it could have been Wilson, but I think it is pretty prevalent that the team is trying to ease Wilson back in.
While I agree with you that lines should be better (see above - either option), I somewhat understand Lavy's points. I do wish lines would be set for a few games and stay set to develop chemistry (see December where lines were set and the team was humming)</div></div>
They should have won the game last night they played well 1stvperiod but when the wild tied it in the 2nd it looked like they lost everything and didn’t get it back, that can’t happen with a veteran team

I rather have Brady Tkachuk because DeBrincat is another small player with skill the only time I would put another one of those players with Hughes would be if it was Caufield. Hughes needs a big strong forward to be on his line

Could flip Milano, Mantha, or sheary between those three spots. Could also keep shears up top.</div></div>
I don’t mind those but I would switch Milano and Sheary. I was complying last night cause Kuzy was playing on the forth line and Kubel with with Ovi

One of the big things that makes Haula a good linemate for Hughes is cause Haula can play well defensively when Hughes makes a mistake and he can take faceoffs and win them, I think that is underrated. Put Bratt with them and there is plenty of skill on that line to score.

Canucks Devils Blockbuster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nucksrock</b></div><div>Why does NJ do this?
1. They are giving up primarily futures/unproven players on a team full of young talent, simply, other than Nemec, many of the players are redundant
2. Tatar is a cap move and not core given age and expiring contract
3. Picks will be late firsts
4. Uniting all 3 Hughes brothers is a marketing boon, not to mention you're getting a PPG defenseman
5. Demko is a top 5 goalie when healthy...
NJ is getting a cup from this
Vancouver
1. Hard to move 2 of their core pieces for futures but it restocks their shelves with youth
2. Some of the picks gained can be used to back fill other areas
3. Canucks need to reset
These two teams are a marriage made in heaven, one has a ton of youth it legitimately has no room for, the other has the pieces that puts NJ into a decade of contender status and likely a few cups.</div></div>
This is a trade that doesn’t make sense for either team

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>markykins1</b></div><div>Obviously Bmac knows more about Vrana issues than we ever will but moving him out and a bad contract was worth it to him to take a bit of a loss. I like Mantha and just hope he stays engaged more which is what he has struggled with over his career but he fits in fine with this team.
I don't have a strong opinion on Sprong myself. I am glad we got Johanssen for him because he is always in position, is a real smooth skater, is very good at keeping possession and making the right plays, can play effectively on the PP, and can carry the puck in on said PP. He has fit in perfectly on this team and is having a good year also.</div></div>
Yeah I like Mojo but Vrana and Sprong while they caps system can’t tolerate a lot of those players I feel that it really boosted the team to have one of them on the roster. I too think Mantha fits in well with this team and I believe he can be a big piece for them I just think that Lav does everything in his power to prevent Mantha from finding his game, he gets inconsistent time and linemates is healthy scratched every other game and is often play on lower lines with low skill line mates. Almost as dumb as putting kubel on Ovi’s line which is the worst possible thing Lav could ever do yet he did it anyway. 1 of the things that sticks out the most to me about mojo is his play in front of the net I feel like it is very strong

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>markykins1</b></div><div>I don't think Lavs necessarily doesn't like 'youth', he just doesn't like one way play or loafers. For his system to work really well (like we've seen up until the last few games) he needs two way play. I think that's probably very obvious to you. Lavs will only tolerate one cherry picker and that's Ovi. Mantha has it all and when he bears down and is engaged, he is a force, but he often doesn't get in and do the dirty work Eller or Oshie or Sheary and others will. Vrana and Sprong are one way players. Caps can always find fast one way players with a good shot. But they don't want them because it puts too much pressure on the other 4 skaters and if you ain't pulling on the rope, you ain't playing long for Lavs.</div></div>
So you do have a point but my problem is ok they don’t want these guys but don’t lose them for nothing, the vrana trade was awful even if Mantha would have kept performing the way he did in Detroit it still would have been awful that trade was really bad and Vrana was good same with Sprong look at how he was with the caps during the short season and how he is now with the Kraken and all they got for him was rental Mojo who is often not doing much and then just randomly shows up. If they don’t want to utilize those high skill one-way players that’s one thing but they need recognize their value when they give them away

I can't see his value improving from now until the trade deadline, so I think they would try and deal him now in case they can receive any more value by having 40ish games left instead of 20ish games. As much as we want Eller gone to improve the team, I think MacLellan fears breaking up the locker room by trading Eller, so I can't see him getting traded, and the best fans will probably get will be having Eller possibly scratched.</div></div>
I completely agree with you I think Eller should be traded now but I don’t think GMBM will do it he has not been that good of a gm since the caps won the cup, I feel like he gets rid of youth an elects instead to go with non-core vets when they need to insert some young, fast, talented players like Vrana, Sprong, and Snively so I’m guessing Snively could be traded cause look at what happened to the other two

Otherwise if he is often scratched and sitting in the press box all the time it might give teams the impression that he's not worth trading for?...maybe it's a stretch I don't know...</div></div>
The problem is they are playing him instead of Mantha and Mantha is good and Eller is playing badly and not deserving his time. They just used the Eller-Backstrom-Oshie line if it was Mantha instead of Eller the line would be 2x better
