I think it's a reward kind of for him having to play in so many different situations with our injuries this year taking half the Eagles defensive core at times.

(COL/BOS) - Bowers for Kinkaid
Avs win the trade for the fact we don't have to have JJ as the third string for the playoffs lol. Hope Bowers gets some playing time for the Bruins at some point though, he still has bottom six NHL potential possibly.

I think this deal would have been fine had it been a one year deal. Just hope it doesnt stunt the ice time for Edvinsson next year since he's been on fire in the AHL.

Timmmmma Timmmma! I always liked him as an Avs fan, I watched him at a couple different prospect tournaments and he was awesome there. His career was really set back with the serious injuries but the future is bright for this young man!

I would also think that at the draft the Blues would turn that pick into a fourth rounder, Avs just dont have the capability to offer that

I think we are in more need of a top 6 scorer. Landy is going to take some time to get into mid season form here considering he's just starting to skate and as we've seen our offense is not consistent at all when we're a man down. Odds are we will have a couple injuries in playoffs so if we're only making one move i think it shuold be to better the top 6. Never hurts to have to play a top 6 scorer on the third line, for example burky last year</div></div>
I think Bednar and company see Malgin as a potential top six guy and Newhook and Compher have shown an ability, albeit for a short period of time, to be effective in a top six role with the right players. I completely agree that Landy might take a little bit to get going, but we really dont have the cap space to trade for anyone over amount Accairi makes without cap shenanigans of sending guys down or keeping guys out until the playoffs start.

Oh absolutely, I'd rather have Eller or someone with a more established top six capability or would play in the bottom six for us. I just think Accairi could be lost in the mix of their trades near the deadline and we might be able to poach him for this small cost

What do you think a fourth line center is worth? Buch will probably fetch a second this year or first in future drafts. I could name five or six guys similar to Accairi who have just a little bit less potential in this lineup. Bowers had a decent showing this year and theyll need center prospects if they go full rebuild and trade two of Accairi, O'Reilly, Buch. What would be your trade rebuttal?

Why would Seattle do this trade? They're getting worse in the short term and much worse in the long term. Switch Matty B out for a first round this year and maybe. I think Seattle is still trying to build from within so I doubt they look for high priced rentals this season anyway.

Who voted no? This is a win win, he gets a home for 3 more years and Caps get at the worst a third line player at a very manageable cap hit

Avs offer the 2024 first instead, our pipeline is so incredibly bare right now and we cant miss this years draft entirely. I like this though, Rico would look good in an Avs sweater.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SociallyHawkward</b></div><div>I'm not too informed on the contract side of things either but my understanding was always the player submits a list every season. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on here fills us in lol</div></div>
In most of the wording I've read, players in a multi-year deal, the language often permits the player to submit a revised list each year at the commencement of the year. This allows the player to strategically pick teams each season if the power balance in the league shifts or personal circumstances change. The language will sometimes state that if a player does not deliver an updated list by a specified date in each year of the contract, the list remains unchanged from the original or previous list submitted. However, clever contract wording can also specify that if the player doesn’t deliver a new list each year, any further no-move or no-trade rights are forfeited from that point forward. That can be a disastrous omission from a player agent – and don’t think that never happens.
I'm mostly taking this from Chris Gear of Daily Faceoff

Horvat will get traded most likely to LA for either Byfield or Turcotte plus picks. GUYS WAKE UP!!!!!
Possible other Teams are Ottawa & Flyers Both needing a TOP NHL Center and they would have to give their 1st rd pick in 2023 to start</div></div>
There are quite a few big names that could be available which is what will both affect and determine value. Guys like Larkin, Horvat, Monahan, Henrique, Schmaltz, Toews, Johansen, O'Reilly, Roslovic, Hayes, possibly even Dubois. That's a lot of guys who are just centers who are or could be available for trade. Monahan isn't even top five in centers, In an extremely deep draft I don't think he can fetch a first.

You've been here long enough to make the difference between delusional Habs fans and the ones realistic but that you find homer even if they aren't lol</div></div>
But heres the thing, Monahan is worth a mid second round pick at best right now. Look at who could be had for the value you gave, Avs could get Horvat for close to that value.
