im thinking maybe instead habs keep danault and use domi in another trade but what if Kotkaniem was the core piece going back and build the trade off
that

I think that julien Gauthier and lias anderson are more than enough to offset the dropping of 6 spots
even though Lias is a center prospect hes a good prospect with grit and 2 way play could possibly replace Danault if Phillip doesnt want to stay due to KK and Suzuki emergence
( i personnaly aint sold on KK's hockey sense and think he might be better suited at wing with his decent speed and nice release but we ll see )
. Julien Gauthier is at worst a 4th line gritty physical winger but potentially a joel armia type player with better hands and much more nastiness sprinkled on top .
unless a top 10 player like sanderson quinn holtz type prospects falls to 16th i wouldnt mind targetting a guy like rodion amirov or connor zary with the 22nd

hey Im not a fan of either team and dont see those players regularly enough to really have a full grasp of their contributions that can most certainly go beyond the pts production and stats (kinda like Gallagher in mtl ) but from an outside view connor > beauvillier by a decent margin and Pionk = pulock are fairly even also from what im hearing wpg needs a center and im pretty sure if they move a piece like connor theres gotta be a top 6 center coming back

Pegging
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>corson</b></div><div>I wouldn't worry about the 10th OA pick, we are not rebuilding anymore. Apparently.
From what I'm reading, Bergevin is going all in this season.
So we aren't looking for picks, in fact i'm hearing that we are trading our pick.
Basically we are looking at one of the teams going with a low internal cap like Florida, and we are going to trade our 1st + prospects for a high end scoring winger.
Not sure if this is true but it seems to be the way MB is leaning</div></div>
even if he does try and trade his pick and prospects for a high scoring winger getting a 10oa for domi isnt a bad move at all . theres not much room for domi at c and if they add a high scoring winger theres not much room for him on the wings either . if habs can add a scoring RW and trade Domi to get a pick like maybe a sanderson shneider or quinn at 10th oa maybe they still have enough cap room to get aggressive on Hall and the top 9 could look like this
Hall Kotkaniemi Caufield
Drouin Suzuki NEW RW
Tatar Danault Galagher
eh a man can dream ...

serious question
Danault isnt going anywhere unless its an unreal offer Kotkaniemi still hasnt proved anything and Suzuki was great but hes still pretty young . part of why KK and Suzuki were solid in the playoffs was Danault taking many of the defensive missions vs top lines. if habs trade Danault for b prospects and picks they ll probably end up looking like buffalo after trading o reilley

Whats The Asking Price For Danault
IMO if Danault gets moved it ll be for a huge offer
Mtl can easily have him play with Gallagher and Tatar if Tomas stays and still have Suzuki with Drouin and maybe Caufield or armia or a free agent signing whatever .
so Phil get his top6 spot and signs a new contract and a year or so later is slowly pushed down the lineup BY KK .
KK had OK playoffs and showed much improvement but he played in the AHL most of the year and is 20 years old he hasnt past Danault yet just because he got 1 more point than Danault in 10 playoff games ...
saying Danault will be traded and his value is diminished becuase hes said he feels he still a top 6 center and isnt ready to give his top line spot up yet is ridiculous Laine said the same thing a few years back would the Jets let him go for Byron and Armia ?

At the price Habs are better off waiting a year and making an offer sheet for 9 mil they give 2 first rd and dont have to give danault

I wonder if instead of the nashville trade tatar and Domi couldnt fetch us a Kyle Connor . Winipeg want s 2c and Domi could be that Guy and they get tatar to replace Connor habs get a 3x 30 goal goal scorer . maybe a first rd pick swap and some other picks to even it out a bit

Cmon Habs fan
I like Sergachev , not sure hes a top pair D though and at 8,5m he better be i think as good as he is his numbers are inflated by the team he plays on and surrounded by McDonaugh and Hedman . but half his Pts came on the PP and his +- is helped by the fact hes not on the top pairing. still think hes solid and wish we hadnt traded him for drouin but 8.5 seems steep at the same time might be what is needed to get him out of TB although honestly I cant see how Bergevin makes that offer and effectively admitting he ****ed up traded him.
Top 10 pick if availlable in trade I think Nashville and maybe minesota but Winnipeg at the forefront for sure and the pick should be Sanderson (although not as much if you sign Sergachev and have Romanov coming up) the other is Jack Quinn or if a raymond or holtz or rossi for some ****ed up reason drop to 10th

Why would we bring in another 3rd line center habs have to many centers as is
unless theres a top line center availlable i dont see habs bringing another C .
hannifin for 3x2rd isnt that great either in this draft reported to be pretty deep and although habs have had below avg luck with 1rd picks the second and thirds they do pretty well with Romanov Ikonen Ylonen Brook Struble and Fleury in the last few drafts.
( rumor has it the first rd flops are mostly due to Bergevin having final say on first rd and then trusting his recruiters for the later rds)

Are you kidding ? MTL does this in a heartbeat ! Domi has no spot on the habs he doesnt want to play wing and with Danault suzuki and Kotkaniemi he seems to be the odd man out id be really surprised if he doesnt get traded and if he can fetch a top 10 pick thats a win imo the 4 mil contract of perreault doesnt excite me though

Would the Habs trade Danault
The only way Habs let Danault go and acquire D eangelo is if they trade Petry first and get either a solid top4 left D or a top 6 winger . We swap Danault for Domi

Habs dont let Danault go for a right handed D they have weber and petry top 4 on the right side the value isnt bad even though a top two way forward has more value than a 50 pt off d imo if he was Lefthanded maybe but D eangelo has only 1 proven season i would be skitish to let Phil go for that type of player + hes a hometown guy

Phi and Van offers are a little bit light. Add, or they keep their guys.
Arizona offer is too generous, but they don't have a roster spot.
SJ offer looks just right.
I would be fine with adding a 2nd to phi and a 1rst to vancouver for those guys
this team would be changed with very few glaring weaknesses with this roster and still cap space to make moves down the road

leddy in my view has about same value as hamonic looking at what they got for hamonic im thinking the value isnt far off now if the NYI are willing to trade leddy or not is another question but i think gallagher is highly regarded throughout the league and brings much more than his pts . dont see nelson with same value and im pretty sure weber has more value than leddy but that could be my biased view from a habs fan

yeah below 9.2 its two 1rst and two 2nd didnt see where i could put that in and yeah i was hoping for the best with plekcanec but would still take a 4th and 5th no worries the las vegas trade is banking on the fact that with such a new and potentially young team they would like some leadership and grit and shaw was protected so they couldnt pick him betcha they wouldve if both players were on same team and both not protected , as for radulov id be inclined to go 6 years if he would sign for 6 mil or 4 years 6.750 but im betting on him seeing the new additions and saying , yeah i wanna be a part of this but still have cap room for the salary bump and willing to go 6 years if its what ittakes
