thing is if they do match it then they have very little cap space to sign Hughes whos up for a big pay day also if they want to get both and they need them both to take hometown discounts Hughes salary gotta be similar to heiskanen or chabot 8m AAV if he doesnt take home town discount and Pettersson can be compared to Eichel so the 10.2 is also pretty plausible Cannucks dont have 18M+ to sign em both at full value

yeah possible . like I said just seeing if the math would work obviously lots of things gotta happen in order for this to be plausible starting with Price being picked up and Vancouver not matching the Pettersson offer but that team could be pretty interesting if some polkadotted unicorn could make it happen it would be nice

Pettersson offersheet rumours
Its all fun and games to throw out random salaries to make it fit the cap space but Lehkonen doesnt sign at a 50% salary reduction ! resigning KK to a contract past 3 years is not wise it gives him full UFA since after 7 seasons he get full free agency its gotta be kept to 3 or less years . IMO in a flat cap era David savard doesnt get much more than what Edmonson or Chairot get 3.5 to 4 max .
I love the Pettersson option wrote about the top potential offer sheet offers for mtl a few weeks ago on another platform . Miro Heiskanen was my first choice the comunity had Tkachuk way ahead of anyone and I kinda do agree with them Brady Tkachuk would be a hell of a steal if they got him but Ottawa isnt cap crunched like Vancouver is and now that Heiskanen is no longer Availlable and Danault leaving is more of a reality Elias Pettersson is a Great target
Now if we re dreaming and Price goes to Seattle in the draft and Weber is on LTIR gotta think Drouin is either on LTIR or moved also if you add his 5.5m to the 12.3M left on your cap space you can go after Hamilton and look to bring in Grubauer to secure the nets by moving Byron added to a few picks to save that 3.4 and you could possibly go after Hoffman also lets say you do move Byron and get Drouin off the cap either by trade or LTIR thats an added 8.9m to the already 12.2 that 21+ m could be divided with
Hamilton 8.5
Grubauer 6
Hoffman 6
you re left with about 750k cap space

Out of the 3 my first choice would be Nurse but i doubt hes availlable and if he is its probably not a cheap deal . If it was back in the Chiraelli era where he was giving gift baskets left and right then maybe . If a first and a prospect like Brooks Fleury struble or harris gets it done then take it and ask the GM if he has any other deals to call him first

2021 lineup
I havent looked into the rules but I dont think the confinement in the US is as severe as in Canada .
even in canada right now confinement isnt forced if you are coming back from overseas its strongly encouraged but theres no fines or anything yet . it has been announced there will be fines and potential jail time but as of right now its not mandatory. but as far a professional players maybe its different since you cant really hide the fact you arent confining so im not sure Detroit wouldnt pick him up + with 2 more years on his contract it could be more than for this messed up season .
as for Kulak i do like him in a 6th -7th D role but i wouldnt be heartbroken to see him go for the nearly 2 mil cap space he would free up

Habs are up against cap ceiling they dont have room for a 2m+ player for the bottom 6 plus for a defensive and physical player his -10 career and less than 100 hits over his career add to that his turnover vs takeaways is -21 id call that a bit underwhelming https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/j/janmama02.html

I dont think Danault will be playing 3c i think he still gets to play with Tatar and Gallagher and Suzuki plays with Drouin and Anderson leaving KK on the third with Armia and Lehkonen
Kotkaniemi had a good 3 week flash in the playoffs but hes was in the AHL for part of the season and he hasnt shown enough consistency to take that 2c spot away from Danault just yet
if the pick has to be top 3 protected then Id want a second pick to compensate if it werent a top 10 pick meaning a structure like this
if the pick is
1-3 it becomes a 2022 first rd pick and a 2nd rd pick
if its
4-12 no second pick
13-20 + 3rd rd pick
21-32+ 2nd rd pick
insurances for both teams

Danault if Cirelli signs OS
I dont think Danault is going anywhere . Kotkaniemi isnt proven he had good flashes in the playoffs for 3 weeks but hes far from proven hes ready to be consistent for a full season .
I believe Danault still gets to play with gallagher and tatar and suzuki gets anderson and drouin leaving Kotkaniemi on the third line with armia and lehkonen until more consistency is shown . KK lets not forget was sent back down to the minors for the better part of the season <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CoopsTroops</b></div><div>That's why there's free agency.
Unless .... Habs make a massive Offer Sheet to P.L Dubois and then use Danault and prospects to acquire a top line winger ... lol im dreaming here of course but in reality Danault imo doesnt go anywhere</div></div>

Y'all ? you think im a Jets fan? now whos confused? If Habs felt Kulak was such a solid top4 D they wouldnt have acquired Edmundson so i guess im not the only one who doesnt see him as a top 4 ...
with Edmundson Charriot and possibily Romanov kulak might not even have a regular spot in the top 6 lol anyway keep being delusional i ve wasted enough time with ya
Dont know what Chel is im assuming some sorta video game guessing by the 78 overall rating you seem to value him at I dont play video Games . maybe you should stop playing video games and base your values of players on their overall .

Dawson Mercer Radim amirov and Jack Quinn if they are available .
I believe Amirov would be a to 10 and close to the Holtz and Raymond if he wasnt russian . he plays with an edge is a solid shooter and above avg skater and isnt a liability in his own end
Dawson Mercer is similar in his grittiness and defensive ability and scoring touch and hes righthanded.
Jack Quinn might be the best scoring winger in the draft but i dont know how much of his scoring has to do with playing along side rossi
unless we get lucky and Sanderson drops to 16th

I'm a Habs fan and I do like Domi but I feel like a lot of people on here overvalue his worth in a trade.</div></div>
yeah the trade idea wasnt a full trade offer is was more of a base to build on . although Domi had one season above the others and is a rfa hes also had 251 pts to Rackells 283 in 2 seasons less Rackell is a career -2 while Domi is a +4 so defensive wise ... pretty similar .
i get that theres more to it than numbers but i dont think they re that far off even though i do agree Rackell might be better overall than Domi.
Max is a Center which adds to his value but i wouldnt have a problem adding a 2nd rd pcik to the trade to balance it out and even if it needed a 2nd and 4th id be ok
id consider putting in Fleury or Juulsen instead also if thats where they would go but i dont think theres much more needed.
thats of course if Anaheim is looking to move Rackell and If Domi is their cup of tea .

Kulak a top 4 D ? on a pretty weak team maybe . 1 season of 70 pts isnt proven Domi has the potential to be a 70 pts guy but hes not proven . if that were the case jonathan cheechoo would be considered a proven 50 goal scorer ! i agree however that roslovic and the 10th oa arent worth Domi and the 16th oa add to that perrault contract and this isnt very interresting imo

If Danault is traded the return needs to have a top 6 RW Danault is a solid C and one of the best 2way players in the NHL he centered one of the best 5on5 lines this past year and im still not sold on KK i think Danault starts the season on a line with tatar and either Armia if caufield stays in college and habs dont sign/trade for a top 6 RW or gallagher if the new RW or caufield comes along and KK will need to prove hes top 2C for more than 8-9 playoff games before Danault is let go . i think if the trade is for buchnevich and lias anderson and KK has proven he can be consistant then it can happen but id put in a bidding war for Danault with WPG and NYR
