Trouba,Hronek and Cholowski would anchor the Wings defense for the next 7-8 years, would be set on the back end.</div></div>
It does not make sense for us to trade AA. At least not right now. Wings struggle to score so we're going to trade one of our only two 30 goal scorers? No need to even make a trade for Trouba. If he wants to come here he will when he becomes UFA. We're in a rebuild right now, it makes no sense to trade away high end assets.

No way Binnington is getting that kind of deal come on. Prly a 2-3 year deal at 6 mil aav. I think they will hold on to Allen for as long as they can.

Only way I'd take on Lucic is for a 1st and/or Puljujärvi ANNNDDDDD Abby has to be going the other way in the deal.

Trouba and Callahan
The Tampa pick and a mid tier prospect like Saarijärvi should be enough to get a Trouba deal done. I wouldn't be willing to give more than that while knowing he could be UFA in a year anyways. The only problem with the Tampa trade is getting Green to waive his NTC.

Offer sheets are averaged out at 5 years max even on 7 year deals which is why it did this. I made the same error. No thanks on RNH and no thanks on EK.

Overpayment on the Trouba deal. Either we are giving up picks or prospects, cant be both. I think we could get the deal done without including Ras.

If Detroit buys out his contract. The cap hit is $19M over the next 4 years and that leaves approximately $5M spread out over the next 4yrs. There is no scenario where Detroit benefits by taking on Lucic's contract.</div></div>
I agree. I'm just saying if he bought out Lucic there wouldnt be an extra player left unprotected.

He bought Lucic out

Stevie Ys First Off Season as Wings GM
I don't see Marleau waiving his NTC to come to Detroit. All signs point to him staying in TOR. I wouldn't mind taking on the Lucic deal but Abby has to be going to EDM for that to happen. Svech prly has little to no trade value right now, especially for a young dman like Bean. Trouba I can see happening but idk if Ras should be involved. Would prefer to keep him if possible but im not against it. The Backes deal is ok but he only supplies an 8 team list hes willing to go to. As for the buyouts... I'd be more interested in flipping these guys and just retaining 50% instead of retaining on the trades. Buying out Lucic's deal would be an awful decision. The first 4 years of that buyout would range from 3.6-5.6 against the cap per year. I can appreciate the creativity though.

All of these guys are on expiring deals thus the buyout term would only be 2 years for each of them.

As a wings fan I dont think Helm or Glen's deal is really that bad. If I'm trying to move someone it's Abby first.

EDM is already strapped for cash, wouldnt make sense for them to take on more. We could take on Cally's deal but Point is an extreme over payment especially with only 1 year left. I think a pick and a prospect to the wings would be fair. Taylor Raddysh has always had my attention. The Trouba deal.. Again, an over payment to a team that is in a pickle. If WPG is looking to get rid of Trouba I think the 2 draft picks you listed would be enough. However, as a rebuilder I'm not excited about giving away draft picks.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mikearky</b></div><div>Your offer sheet to Mcavoy would cost Wings 4 1st round picks. Offer sheet contract are calculated on AAV divided by number of years or 5 years if 6 or 7 year contracts. So, Mcavoy's contract would cost over 11 million for purposes of calculating compensation. That is a lot and not sure Wings want to give so much up for him.</div></div>
