Practically every trade proposal is met with It'll take KJ, Jiricek, Marchenko, Sillinger, or 3 OA or some combination of them to get a deal done. This site is stupid af.

Would rather keep the guy that has 3 years left on his contract and is known to be happy in Columbus than the question mark that is Debrincat and his pending $9M QO.

I'm intruigued by the bones of that trade, but there's no way you're prying 3OA from Jarmo, and I just can't see him having an interest in JT Miller because of his age and the relative age of the rest of the Jackets (everyone but Jonny and Jenner are under 25). Maybe something like Demko+Raty (no picks required) for Elvis+22OA+Roslovic+(insert further negotiation here to balance).

JT Miller has negative value to the jackets. Not a chance in hell they consider this. Petey is only piece the Canucks have that get the 3OA so don’t bother unless he’s included

Monster trade for Fantilli
For all of the trade up scenarios people have been posting recently I think its important to remember that in the NHL teams rarely will trade back if they think they are trading out of a certain tier of player and when they do it's usually after all of what they think are the real top of the lineup prospects are gone. If a team has Michkov, Reinbacher, Dvorsky, Benson, and Moore in the same tier, they would probably be willing to trade back from say 6 to 9 but probably not 6 to 12. I think the top tiers for this draft are pretty clearly Bedard at 1 and Fantilli at 2. It gets tricky after that, as certain teams may have any combo of the 3 of Michkov, Carlsson, and Smith next. Either way, I feel like it would be pretty much impossible for CBJ to move up to 2 unless ANA <em>really</em> likes Carlsson or Michkov. Even though Carlsson, Michkov, and Smith all would've gone 1oa last year, I still feel like the consensus is that Fantilli is far enough ahead of them to make trading out of that spot pretty unthinkable for ANA

Tarasov is not waiver exempt next year and will be the backup to Elvis so we know if we need to pursue a different option. I'm not oppossed to signing Kulikov as a short-term option at D, but probably not the 1st choice. While we could use Glendenning as a face-off specialist we would prefer to keep Kuraly as the 4C and give the playing time to other players.

Another Pettersson trade
Meh, if Columbus lands Bedard or Fantilli I’d rather keep Johnson and Jiricek. I’m just not sure I’d want to give up that many high end assets for 1 player when Columbus still has a major need on the back end.

Jackets future who is gone
Next season -
NHL level - Werenski, Gudbranson, Peeke, Jiricek, Blankenburg, Boqvist and Berni.
AHL/Minors - Cuelamens, Svozil, Mateychuck, Knazko and Christensen.
Gone/traded - Bean and Gavrikov.
If Columbus brings in another d in the offseason or decides to give Bean his final season Berni goes to the AHL. Also as mentioned above d take longer to be NHL ready, so let’s not rush them into the NHL lineup and ruin them like we did with Foudy.

Off-Season Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>Honestly I wouldn’t make that trade unless it’s a sweetheart offer like Foudy, Boqvist, Voracek (assuming his career is over and he is LTIR space for Colorado) and a 2nd for Girard. Laine is happy in Columbus, Gaudreau is signed Long term, Werenski is 5 more years. I’m just not sure Columbus needs to start pushing all the chips in yet. Maybe Bean can step into the 2nd pair and Berni or Christianson can step up, also who knows how long Mateychuck will take, he could be NHL ready in 2 years.
Imo I wouldn’t make a trade, but I’d go after a player like Gostisbehere or Graves as a UFA and keep the extra assets.</div></div>
I definitely prefer this kind of approach for the Jackets right now. Keep on the path and see how the prospects play out before they start trying to fill gaps long term. Unless there's another crazy opportunity like a Gaudreau signing then there's no need for big splashes right now.

Off-Season Trade
I wouldn't be trading Dumais right now. He's far too interesting of a prospect to trade for temporary LD depth. He on pace for a scoring rate that hasn't been seen from an 18 year old in the last 20 years in the Q (not counting Crosby since he didn't play as an 18 year old). He's absolutely worth keeping in the system to see how his development plays out. At worst you have a 3rd round pick fizzle out. At best you might end up with a top 6 scoring winger.

Reilly Reunion
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pwisch17</b></div><div>Isn't the contract assigned to Providence regardless? Maybe his physical body is not there, but doesn't his contract go automatically? Can it just hang somewhere in limbo if it isn't on the NHL club's books?</div></div>
In order to benefit from LTIR, you need to be cap-compliant on Day 1; so, teams will often assign waivers-exempt players/ contracts to the minors only as a paper-move, then immediately "recall" them once the roster deadline has passed, and injured players are moved to LTIR. BOS took a chance since Reilly isn't waivers-exempt, but it looks to have worked out regardless. He'll probably be called up before their first game.
CBJ did this with Wennberg back in '16-'17 when they were against the cap. He was technically an AHL player for like, half a day or something lol

Columbus really needs a high end center
I trust Columbus’s center core more than I trust their defence.
Columbus’s biggest needs are a 1c and a top pair RHD. After that I’d say they need a better backup goalie.

Someone call the police the panthers got ROBBED
First of all, on what planet is Schwindt a "great prospect"? He's like a C+ prospect, B- at best, with likely a 3rd/4th line swing ceiling. More importantly, if one of those guys walks next summer with no Cup ring, it immediately turns into a very bad deal. If both walk without Calgary winning the Cup, it's an absolute horror show. And let's be honest: this team ain't winning the Cup. This is a huge gamble, and we won't know if Calgary made out on the deal until next July.
