We're quite happy with our Gudas signing, and we have a Nation alreadin in Lesson, and we have no room for a LHD in Bahl, so this trade doesn't do anything for us at the cost of our only RHD signed for next season.
Thanks, but we pass.

Anaheim needs a TOP 6 forward, and a top RHD.
Slav/Dach or Reinbacher fill those needs, BUT IT WILL DESTROY what Montreal currently has. Zegras to Montreal is just not going to happen.
Stop beating a dead horse.

We have, in spades, the kind of pieces that you take with those picks, and the prospects offered already, this isn't adding anything we don't have to our system, while it's subtracting a very big piece from our roster.
If this was Pittsburgh, or Boston, who's pipeline is barren, it would make sense. Anaheim has one of the strongest prospect pools in the league, we don't need more middle of the lineup talent, and certainly not at the cost of a top of the lineup player.
Trades have to work for both teams, this doesn't work for Anaheim, you have to give to get, and all you're giving is spare parts. You don't get to have your cake and eat it too.

Ducks do not want a PROJECT. Anderson is NEGATIVE VALUE. If Anderon/Gallagher/Dvorak/Armia is part of any trade including Zegras IT WILL BE REJECTED.

We're aware of all the pieces you've offered, we have equivalent pieces already in our system, several of them, we don't need to be adding more, over overpaid bottom 6 pieces. What we do need is a Zegras, or Zegras equivalent piece.

No impact piece, no Zegras, we don't care how many first round equivalent pieces you throw, we don't care how many late 1st round picks you throw.
6OA + Beck + Kovacevic
Reinbacher + 25 2nd
Slafkovsky
Select one with no modifications, or no Zegras trade.

Matt Barzal is a very good player.
Brock Nelson is a very good player.
We lose almost seven years on the Gauthier-for-Barzal exchange and over nine years on the Zegras-for-Nelson exchange.
We'll stick with the two much younger players.

Having said that, Luneau is ANA’s only top 4 RD prospect, and RD is our thinnest position. He’s basically untouchable, and that return is underwhelming</div></div>
Would also have to ask why the Habs are trading for RHD with Mallioux, Reinbacher, Barron, Kovacevic, etc, etc.

I agree that good conversation about incentive ideas is fun. Most of the Zegras to Montreal is beaten to death.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>You're conflating several different statements we've made over the past three months, and just plain inventing some things, whether intentionally or not I don't know. Personally, I think that you've taken what we've consistently said and are mis-characterizing it in your own mind. We've always been very specific and never used the words "top forward" or "top RhD prospect." Specifically, we've listed three possible formulations for a Zegras trade: (1) Slavkovsky; (2) the Montreal first and a top forward prospect like Beck or Mesar; and (3) Reinbacher and your 2025 second. I don't ever recall any of us mentioning Suzuki (why in the world would we need a center?!?) or saying "the Jets first and a top 4 RhD prospect." What I recall MY saying was that we would take Reinbacher and the Jets first in response to this very proposal (Barron and the Jets pick). Finally, it's absolutely untrue than any of us have ever said we'd trade Zegras for Caufield.</div></div>
I feel for you guys. These Habs fans don't stop. What's even worse it's the same ones everyday. It wouldn't be so ridiculous if it was new people that aren't active on here often, but it's active members doing it every single day.

Capitals make the move for the future and get younger
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>I understand you guys like the guy. Don't get me wrong everyone has players on their teams they like and as I said before I do NOT like Zegras. But I am not doing this from a players I like stance. He seems to have fallen out of favor with his coach and his GM and they are going to shop him, that is known. So you don't want young roster players that have shown promise and nobody in their right mind will give you a top prospect for him. So what is your price after that. If every single franchise says they will not give up their best prospect what will you do? Hold him on one of the worst teams in the league and let him rot or trade him for assets?</div></div>
Cronins exit interviews literally praised him for his improved two way play this season. How do you figure that means he has fallen out of favor?
And the least we could do is hang onto him for a healthy season and let him go for 85 points to boost his value prior to trading him, if we were looking to trade him. And if we were looking to trade him, we would be looking for an impact piece coming the other way, like in the Drysdale or Mittlestadt trades.
So if you've got a potential #1 RHD or #1RW prospect laying around, give us a call for Zegras, but he's not getting moved for a smattering of pieces we don't have any need for.

I personally dislike Zegras, but I could see the Capitals thinking about kicking the tires. There is no chance the Capitals give you Leonard for Zegras. If you want Leonard its Zegras +.
I can understand why you are high on him but there is no way you will be getting any teams best prospect besides like Toronto or Florida to get Zegras.</div></div>
Iorio and McMichael are nothing special compared to prospects the Ducks already have, they're middle pair/middle 6 upside, we've got tons of those laying around. If you want a shiny new 1C <strong><em>that we have no reason to move and is under contract</em></strong> then you need to cough up an impact piece.
And no, you would be adding to Leonard, not us adding to Zegras.
