What About This
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>masterjuddi</b></div><div>I'd love to see the jets go after Jesse P but not sure how that works.
Jets could help out the Oilers by taking Foegle off their hands and paying for Jesse P
dont really know what the deal would be, but probably not for Dillon</div></div>
I think I'm the only Jets fan on here that thinks they should keep Dillon, running five 6' or shorter dmen is going to get them nowhere.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jetsdood27</b></div><div>I’m not doubting that at all. Another top prospect is not “at least double if not more” of what they got for him. either way like I’ve said 10 times now the trade value for debrincat is very close if its off its by a very small margin anyways. But not nearly enough to argue about at this point but the pieces might not be exactly right for Chicago but the value is close.</div></div>
I don't agree. I don't see a elite level prospect in that offer you proposed and that's the biggest rub of this being off.

A sad reality
Their goaltending wasn't their best part of last season, nothing was really, Comrie was good, Helle was **** though.
The Central could be wide open this year, every team took a step back this offseason except Nashville, if everyone goes well maybe the Jets could grab 2nd in the division, they could just as easily finish 5th or 6th though.

With having Maurice and Huddy gone, I’m at least willing to give them a shot to see what a new coaching staff can do. Winnipeg’s defensive structure has been an absolute tire fire inside of a flaming dumpster the last few years and I do believe that with at least a decent system, their forward core and Helly in net, they could easily be a playoff team.

I think I'm the only Jets fan that isn't impressed by the slow, poor skating, offensively challenged DeMelo, I'd make this trade just to get Ylonen, he's a decent prospect and is a right shot which the Jets have few of.

"the Jets will be lucky to get a bag of pucks for Dubois" what are you even talking about here? The guy is a powerhouse 2 way C under team control for this and next year.

Drouin is a cap dump, no one pays to take on cap dumps. Add a first and Montreal's second next year if you want to return a 2nd.

Why would Winnipeg throw away a potential top 4 defenseman and more for a marginal bottom pairing defensemen they have no need of?

If we plan on balancing out the scoring throughout the lineup then it should be Wheeler moving to the 3rd line. Giving him less minutes will help make him more effective at his age. Ehlers - Schiefele - Perfetti would be one really good line.

Hoping for a competitive camp
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Birtle34</b></div><div>I just wonder if the fanbase is under estimating a kid or two, as far as the forward group goes, possibly lucious? I’m kind of in the believe it when I see it with perfetti, a lot of expectations of instant top 6 for him, will be interesting if he can stay healthy and live up to expectations. Will be interesting camp, hopefully some names added that hasn’t been thought of yet.</div></div>
Lucius is a dark horse to steal a meaningful roster spot this year. I agree that it’s likely there’s a youngster we’re overlooking that the jets are not.
I have a lot of faith in Perfetti. He really looked like he was figuring out the NHL game before he got hurt. He was heating up. I hope he really breaks out.

Opening Night
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>christianyog</b></div><div>I like the idea of both deals, but I have a different approach:
The Stanley deal is fine. We need space for Heinola and Samberg. If Heinola isn't on the roster during opening night he will ask for a trade.
Trade both Dillon and Schmidt in separate deals. That Dillon deal you have is alright, but instead of Berdin I would flip the pick acquired in the Stanley deal. Then trade Schmidt in a separate deal for a pick. I feel like Berdin might win the backup spot over Rittich this season, last two seasons for Rittich have been BAD, like really bad.
Also I love Kovacevic, but I think Gawanke is better.</div></div>
Can't see any team trading for Schmidt in this market, the league is pretty much capped out.

In the unlikely event

Lundkvist is a very good one. NYR has a problem. They have too many, with Fox, Schneider (Trouba)
But we can each keep our prospects, and let time tell</div></div>
Main issue with this deal is age and need. Lundqvist is already a few years older than Lucius, and while jets do need RD help. They most certainly do not need another small puck moving RHD as they already have that in pionk.

Is this a playoff team
I'm firmly thinking maybe?.. lol
I think most teams in the Central got a little worse aside from Nashville but the Preds will need repeat seasons from their top 4 forwards (RyJo,Duch,FF,Gran) to have a similar or better season than last year.
I think the Jets look very same old same old, their top 6 should do fine, the bottom six is still an issue and huge question mark.
Is Appleton the Lowry whisperer? If Appleton and Lowry can have the same seasons as they did in the 20-21 season than yeah they might be a playoff team. I think the defense is serviceable enough to make the playoffs and obviously Helle needs a rebound season. If Lowry/Appleton/X have a good season, Helle rebounds and Wheeler doesn't fall off a cliff they could be a playoff team, staying healthy will be extremely important for this team as they don't have the depth especially with no Copp or Stastny, injuries to Scheifele, Dubois, Ehlers and Connor even for short stretches could sink this teams playoff chances quick, they just don't have the quality depth to withstand injuries to any of those guys for very long.
So I'm a maybe they can make the playoffs guy, they're not going very far with their top D pair as it currently is though.
