Annual Saad to the Pens team
I like that Ullmark signing a lot for the Pens. Think he may cost a little more, but could be a great fit alongside Jarry. They'd push each other to become the true #1 starter

Toronto retool while keeping the Big 4
You've undershot on every salary. No chance those guys sign for that little.

Post-Eichel
No chance Landeskog or Hamilton sign in Buffalo. The Skinner deal would never happen. Moving from 2 up to 1 in a season with no consensus #1 pick and no McDavid level prospect at the top is not worth $9million

Flames Major Changes
Could definitely see the Flames adding draft compensation for Seattle to take Lucic. If not, who do you guys think they take instead?
And on Konecny, gotcha, I just know that Vingeault scratched him a few times this season no? (That guy needs to go btw, holding the Flyers back). Would you make the Konecny for Gaudreau trade?

Don't believe the Leafs even consider that trade. Such an underpay for their top dman.

blowing it up
Interesting moves but don't think you'd need to give up that much for either guy. In particular Marner, Sabres may have to toss the Leafs a pick in that deal for Eichel based on his trade demand and current injury issues. One question for you though, is do you think the best strategy if the Leafs did decide to blow it up is trade for another double digit salary? Or instead get multiple pieces back for a similar dollar value for say a Marner or Nylander. Not the sexy play, but one that might work out better by adding more depth

Opening Night
Solid lineup! Very curious to see what Brady Tkachuk signs for, but definitely think its more than that on 8 year term. His brother signed for 3 years, $7 million AAV. And as a Flames fan, I think Brady is better than Matthew. I'd guess close to $8.5-9 million AAV for him. Also curious if the Sens would wanna take on that JVR contract. Making a lot but did have a decent rebound season

Lee rumors
Like this idea a lot as a Hawks fan but there's no way Lee signs for 6.5. Hayes just got north of 7 million in Philly and Lee is a far more complete player and better scorer. With over 4.5 million left in cap in this scenario its still achievable, but Lee's AAV would and should be bumped to around 7.5-8 million

Way out there idea
This could be quite tough to swing but as a Hawks fan I love the idea. Depends on what the Kings are looking to do, retool or rebuild. If its the latter, no chance they move their first rounder. But if looking for a quicker fix its possible. Which, with an aging core they may look to take one last run before a complete rebuild? Who knows. Moving Anisimov and Murphy's cap also opens up some really intriguing options as free agency looms. I've heard the Hawks have been linked to Pavelski, Gardiner and even Anders Lee if the Isles don't wake up and sign him.... and these moves could allow them to potentially sign two of them. Very interesting.

Didn't look too much at the depth chart, focus was just on the signings. Agreed Iginla would be mainly for PP. Bennett also higher up the chart. Just edited, thoughts?

The "Don't Panik, we've got Vanek" line, love it.
Why the Crawford trade though? Miller and Kuemper a large downgrade from him.

Why the decision to move Tatar and Nyquist for Schenn? Like all 3 players but the 2 Wings combined contribute more to the offense than Schenn will be able to.

How many goalies would you pick in expansion draft?
Taking 4 as well.
1. Fleury
2. Mrazek
3. Pickard
4. Raanta
Can move two of the bottom 3 for decent picks.
Possible 5 is Grubauer, depends on if VGK want Schmidt
Could keep Fleury and Raanta and have a strong 1-2 in goal.

The trade with the Sens would never happen. Ottawa with the two best players of the four in the deal.

Two birds one stone with COL? Looking for trade value feedback
LazarBeams I see your point. The hope is one of the Flames younger D prospects is ready sooner, rather than later. Also, unless a trade like this happens I think Michael Stone should be re-signed. That, or bring back Shot blocking machine Kris Russel.
Varderm I also agree the asking price would be higher and the Eberle vs a Calgary pick package is an interesting debate. If he can regain his scoring touch could be a good move, but the question is whether or not Colorado is looking for a quick "re-tool" vs a longer rebuild. If its longer, the picks may be more valued but I think there is enough talent on that roster to simply change a few pieces and compete again.
The goalie options for Vegas will define their expansion draft in my opinion. Quite a few strong options out there who could simply be taken and then moved for picks. One theory I had was the Knights selecting Fleury, Raanta, Pickard, and Mrazek, then moving two for picks. Will be very interesting needless to say.

Like the idea of trading with the Avs and Barrie would be a good pickup but why not try and use the D prospects and picks to spring for one of the Avs available forwards? Duchene is good as gone I think, could bolster the Flames scoring up front. What're your thoughts?

Ovechkin Trade
Agreed he's a solid defenseman but the trade for the third sheds his cap hit, which allows Washington to re-sign Shattenkirk who is arguably the better defenseman of the two. You are right that they could get a higher round pick for him but trading him for a roster player makes trading him (and his salary) pointless.

Montreal Canadiens perfect team
Love this. No chance it could all happen but a very cool concept that solves the Habs offensive woes. Only concern would be Fleury instead of Price.
Also, if this ever were to happen, Marc Bergevin becomes Premier of Quebec haha. Nice work.
