Still a decent team... but Damn, we've fallen off hard in term of high end talent!

Sharks Next Season Lineup

His qualifying offer is 3M and he's arbitration eligible. It's possible he gets signed for less than 2 but I don't think it's too likely. If he accepts the QO it takes him to UFA since he turns 27 in December. If the team doesn't issue a QO then they lose his rights and other teams can sign him.

I’ll be happy with Celebrini, Eiserman, or Levshunov.
But if we fall out of the top 3 and don’t get one of those 3 this season will be a failure.

2023-24 Standings Predictions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoSeider53</b></div><div>:laugh Ottawa 100 points and Detroit only 83 points, You're totally delusional dude. LMFAO Ottawa loses DeBrincat and gains Tarasenko and now they're a 100 point team. Got news for you Slick? Buffalo is far better than Ottawa and the D and Goaltending are still an issue in Ottawa.
Even more funny is the dude really believing that Vancouver is going to get 100 points as well. Team is still garbage.</div></div>
Ottawa has better forwards, defense, and goalies than Detroit. Those predictions aren’t that far out there
And the Canucks could push for 100 points if their top players stay healthy and their defensive acquisitions play as well as expected. 100 may be a bit of a reach but not completely unrealistic. They definitely aren’t garbage though

Sharks better off resigning him vs. this package. It's just a bunch of meh.

Even retained Couture creates big cap problems for COL, throw in his age and this is a COL isn’t even interested scenario. Props for being creative.

Sharks Sell Off
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JoeThorntonsBeard</b></div><div>I see where your coming from but Couture could be one of the best deadline pickups in a long time, and for not too much either (a very late first an expiring contract and two low B-level prospects) His playoff track record is insane, he's providing almost a point per game with awful linemates on a very bad team this year, he also provides leadership, experience, and I think would fit perfectly on Colorados second line</div></div>
Yeah I feel that. Maybe I’m too gunshy about aging players, but I don’t want anything to do with term for someone that is signed from age 33 to 38. He’ll probably be good (great, even) for the next couple years, but that contract could turn sour.
Same reason why the Avs weren’t willing to give Kadri the big payday. Late 30s players with a lot of mileage on their body rarely can keep up the same level of production (unless you’re Crosby or Pavelski)

Bedard is putting up similar numbers to McDavid's draft year on a way worse team. You'd have to be getting an insane package to do that.

What I do know is Yzerman isn't foolish enough to run his franchise into the ground. Acquiring a 32 year old with half an achilles Erik Karlsson and 5 years left on his contract is comparable to buying a snowblower at a hair salon. It makes no sense. Detroit is still rebuilding. Karlsson will be traded to a Cup contender. If he's traded at all.
