Prospects between 20 and 25 deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canucks1972</b></div><div>I don't think you guys get trades at all. If the Rangers want Miller it starts with Braden Schneider. The Rangers are not trading Lafreniere, that would be crazy.
Miller for Schneider, Kravstov and a 2nd</div></div>
If the rumours are true the Canucks are looking at getting forwards in any Miller deal and than Boeser would be the player who they could target better defensive prospects because he has more controllability for teams as an RFA

Prospects between 20 and 25 deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RHF</b></div><div>Because you don't trade a 20 yr old number 1 over all pick yet. You give him time to develop. He is playing for a team that didn't need to give him 1st line mins right away. He is on a team where he can take his time. Especially for a recycled player who had problems in the locker room his 1st time here. Then you add a 9th over all pick plus a 1st than a 2nd. The ask is embarrassing. I thought this was actually a troll trade scenario</div></div>
First of all the leadership ship is completely different from what Miller dealt with during his first time there which was the beginning of his career. Add to the fact that Kravtsov is just the second prospect in as many years who wants out, it hurts his value, doesn’t matter where in the draft he was selected. Also I think you need to look at the picks it’s a 2nd they got in the Buchnevich trade plus a 3rd that’s two years away.
Sure maybe Lafreniere may pan out, but he’s had opportunities to play in the top 6 with highly skilled players and hasn’t shown to his coach that he can stay in that position

Lol, I don’t understand the issue with this deal Lafreniere is play bottom 6 minutes as a former #1 pick not exactly promising for his development

This deal may not make any sense, but no way Vancouver wouldn't jump at this; two defensemen, a depth forward that would allow them to trade Motte in another deal, a prospect, and two picks. Sure your giving up on Boeser but you are upgrading your D core

they shouldn't have traded for Dadonov then.
This trade won't work because Vancouver needs cap space as well.

I agree that the might look for a top 4 RHD in exchange for Boeser but I think that it would be better off trying to fill that through free agency. You might pay a little more cap than you want but your not going to find a team who’s willing to give up a player of that talent

optimal tdl
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>armer918</b></div><div>I understand Van declining this offer but some the return that many fans believe JT will return is nuts! I believe the will get the somewhere around the Taylor Hall to Ari trade.
Hall was coming off the MVP and was traded in mid December and had three mil retained.
I understand Hall was a UFA but that was tons of time (conditions) for them to sign him. People saying that JT will get a better return than Jack Eichel is cray to me.</div></div>
Firstly Buffalo traded Hall and got next to nothing, Eichel was traded hurt and unless things change he may or may not end up playing this year which means that they would be burning a year of his contract. Miller is currently healthy and producing points which gives Vancouver an upper hand. you also have to take into account that when Vancouver traded for Miller is was playing on the third line, and getting 40 points; now that he is playing consistent top 6 minutes 60+ points is his threshold. So to think that getting a 1st and two decent prospects with a possible salary dump for the trading partner without salary retention is nuts is not understanding what he brings to the team that would be getting him.
Secondly the biggest issue I have with the Tor package is that Robertson has been injured more than he has been healthy and so that type of player is not one whom the Canucks would deem viable. One of Liljegren or another defensive prospect would be more attractive to Van

I get that Motte is a good piece for the rangers if they intend to keep pushing for the playoffs, however I've heard that Schenn is the piece that they would prefer as he has another year and would give them depth on D

So if I get this right people are saying that Kakko is no longer as valine as he was when he was taken 2nd overall, but if the rangers are willing to part with him and another prospect say Chytil or a d-man would it be a good start say
Kakko
Chytil
Hàjek
2023 2nd
All going to Van with Miller still going at 50% retained, would athat be a decent deal.

Miller Trade Idea
Miller cost a 1st, 3rd, and a roster body when they acquired him. He was playing a bottom 6 role unless there were injuries. In Van he has been consistently in the top 6 and putting up point totals that reflect his change in ice time. So at the minimum, you want to recoup the original cost. that would mean that at this point you want a 1st and a blue-chip prospect.

With Rutherford being the president and interm GM this deal wouldn’t happen, he’s made it very clear that he intendeds to move out pending UFA veterans for picks and or prospects. He’s not going to add a pending UFA like Klingberg

Blomqvist explains DePietro, forgot he was a goalie.
And I totally that DeSmith would only be the back up as he is a UFA but so is Domingue and the added bonus is that it’s a league minimum contract

Not sure how it would affect the value of the deal, but I’d swap out Dumoulin for the newly acquired Nylander.
Not even sure that DiPietro should be in this deal, Silvos would be better. DeSmith wouldn’t even be the goalie that I’d bring back Domingue, he’s worked with Ian Clark before.

I get that, the prospects coming back aren’t the issue. The issue is that Miller and Motte go out and there’s not a forward coming back who could step into the whole creates by Miller. You just call up Lockwood to fill the Motte spot.
Lundkvist and Söderström are D, Kravtsov is in Russia and not sure he could step into that big of a role yet. And I know nothing about Ronning

There is no reason for either of the three teams involved to do any of this deal.
And IF they were, Vancouver fans would root for trade Motte, Miller AND Rathbone

I think my edit version would be better:
Van: DeBrusk and Senyshyn
Bos: Pearson, Chaisson, Kalrsson and conditional 2023 3rd with the condition being that if Van makes the playoffs Bos gets the 2022 3rd belonging to Wpg and a 2023 4th.
Karlsson is a prospect that they can develop, Pearson has term on him contract so they can either keep him or flip him later. Chiasson is another body that they can use for depth this year

By points percentage they’re comfortably in a playoff spot. Not their fault that the schedule makers decided they wouldn’t play for the first few weeks, and then they got ravaged by covid (well, maybe that is their fault).</div></div>
The article wasn’t talking about this season, they talked about how fans shouldn’t be surprised if after this season they start to trade some of their older players who can bring in prospects or draft capital. They said that it is all because they have been looking 3-5 years down the road and have noticed that they don’t have the prospects to keep the competitive window open, especially with the Rangers, Devils and Senators making strides in development.

The Bruins are so tight lipped about their asking price that its hard to know what they would want. Rumours are that they maybe considering rebuild territory so getting picks to pile up the prospects is not something that any team would or should not want to do
