hows this a mess in 1-2 years? You have 8.4M in CAP space, Mathias, Stuart, Enstrom, Little all come off the books next year freeing 15.2M totaling 23.6M next year to sign Trouba, Ehlers, Morrise, Little, lowry, Armia, Raanta. The Stepan acquisition means that if Little wants too much, he's not really needed so if he takes a discount perfect if not you have a replacement already. Let's highball guess what everyone else gets and say Trouba gets a raise to 8M per meaning (+5.2M), Ehlers to 6M (+5M), Morrisey to 5M (+4M), Lowry to 2M (+.750K) Armia to 2M (+1.25) and Raanta to 3M (+2M) that's a total of 19.2M...meaning you STILL have 4.4M space to sign Little. If he doesn't except a pay cut he'd have to be traded but what kind of assets would he bring back? Or you can then flip Stepan and imagine what he'd bring back considering his value likely to be inflated playing between Ehlers and Laine in which you make Little the #2C and have 11M going into the next year when Laine, Connor and Roslovic need contracts. Off the books that year is Wheeler and other 1M players, freeing additional 6M making about 17M to resign Wheeler, Connor, Laine, and Roslovic. Should be enough to cover them all and if not, guess you have to trade Perrault or Wheeler but eventually this team will have to trade talent because this team can't be kept together forever (like TB and why they likely have to move Drouin). Still I really don't see where the problem is??

After all that. I've come to the conclusion you just never have anything positive to say and just like to criticize everyone else as I've literally never seen you make a team, but constantly come here to critique other people</div></div>

You are super light on your contracts there guy. Super light. Also Laine and wheeler are likely eating up 16mil. Also I have posted many teams just don't waste my time with garbage and I can properly evaluate a player.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>chezyldayoff</b></div><div>As a Jets fan I laughed....then I thought about it a bit more then still settled on a very firm No chance. Scheif's too good, too young, improving every year and on an amazing contract.

However, .....as a Canes fan what if we dropped Scheif and Faulk from the deal.

Trouba + Connor for Hanifin + Rask ??

As a Jets fan I do that deal IF
a) Trouba still wants out of Wpg
b) Myers proves he is back to healthy and can play at a 2nd pairing level[/quotequote=CaptainStevieY;190997]<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SaucyKoolAid</b></div><div>No way would the Jets be willing to lose that much star talent without getting anything back.</div></div>

Without getting anything back? lol. Oh man, these comments are going to be fun to read.

That would be a no; Canes need a top center. Like I said in the description though, this trade would never ever happen anyways.</div></div>

Trouba is straight up the best player in that trade. Yes he is better and more important to the jets than Scheifele. Also canes need scoring. it can come from the wingers or center hell even the dmen but more scoring is what they need.

i wouldn't be surprised if Glass turns out as good as Duchene.</div></div>

I respect your guys opinions but What is it that you do not like in Patrick? Other than Injury history. If you look at this kids Statistics throughout his entire playing career dating back to 2011 he has been a monster in the points column. He has a big body and from film makes just a good passes as Hischier, better in Defensive zone (although Hischier's defensive game is underrated), and has a hard shot that will beat keepers in the NHL no doubt. If people are shying away from this kid because of injuries that is unfair. He was misdiagnosed in the summer and that caused him to miss the majority of this season because he had to get the correct side of the groin repaired. Steven Stamos is a perfect example. Not saying Patrick is going to be anywhere close to as good as Stamkos but he can't stay healthy either. Now would that still shy you away from picking him first overall? When on the ice, he is a game changer and a force to reckon with. I just don't think you pass on a player based on Injuries. He's a teenager and his body is still growing. Injuries are going to happen. Curious to hear a well- thought out opinion on Patrick from any of you. Just so that I can see why people are shying away</div></div>

He didn't produce at 5vs5 this season. Has always been around elite talent except this season and look at the drop and he's as old as you can be in a draft year. Losing ground in your draft year compared to your draft -1 yr as a late birthday isn't good.
