not sure why you are giving up a great prospect in Sonny Milano for a player that already gets LTIR and giving a 1st for a 2nd...doesn't make sense.

The only thing i've heard or read about the "gentlemen's agreement" between CBJ and VGK is Clarkson + 1st rd pick, never heard anything about Milano. And VGK will not be trading away their 2nd rd pick

oh and that MTL trade doesn't get you Galchenyuk, and the contract you gave him is way too low.

Re: Vegas trade .... It's been reported by both Aaron Portzline and Friedman that the 24th OA pick AND prospects are in play. Vegas sends over their 2nd round pick in order to better balance out the trade since Milano is involved.

Re: Galchenyuk ... It's also been reported that Chucky is open to a 1-2 year "show me" deal. He's not going to get more than 4M on a 1-2 year deal....and why should he? He's a young, cost controlled RFA. If he's going to go short term, no one is going to want to give him the ability to get a qualifying offer higher than what he deserves after a bridge deal. A 2 year deal could be structured that he makes 3M in year 1, and 5M in year 2, making his next qualifying offer at 5M+. Certainly realistic.

I'll take your word for the Vegas deal, but you're dead wrong for Galchenyuk, yes he is an RFA, but he is eligible for arbitration this year. and with the numbers he's been putting up, he will easily get $4.5mil for a bridge deal. Let's put it this way, Chuky has put similar or better numbers than Tyler Toffoli from LAK for the past couple years, and he just signed at $4.6mil.

Also the Habs would be fools to give Chuky a 2 year deal. In 2 years Chuky meets the requirements to become a UFA if his contract expires. If MTL give him another bridge deal, it's 1 year max

If Dubois hasn't slid backwards in scouts' minds, I'd take this trade. Galchenyuk has a lot of upside and Torts might be the kind of guy who can get it out of him. Habs would have loved Dubois last year, but he had a terrible season and a pretty mediocre WJC. So.....

Pens fan here. Not clear why you'd ask for salary retention when you can clearly afford the full contract.

Seems kinda realistic other than that.

Toffoli is elite defensively and scores.

This is all over the place. The Vegas deal is kind of close? But I don't think Vegas gives up that 2nd Round pick. Maybe a 4th or 5th rounder. It's close. But I don't like the NJ or MTL trades at all. Not enough going to NJ & I'm not ready to give up on PLD.
