A bit of a retooling near the deadline
I like the deal from a Sharks standpoint but I don't like the retention. Would you do it without retention?

Ok, it might be hard to make a deal then without Holloway given Edmonton's forward prospect pool is fairly weak

Hallander could be decent, but very unlikely he'll be as good as Hertl imo

For San Jose I'd say Joachim Blichfeld. Selected in the 7th round at spot #210 and is averaging a point per game in the AHL right now at 22.

Blockbuster trade 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>IMO this isn't even close to close, plus Minny gets a first?? 4 more years of Parise at 7.5 puts the Sharks in a much worse position. Hunt adds no value as a 6/7 Dman, Hartman is a 3rd / 4th liner, Belpeidio is nothing.
In this deal, Minny sheds a contract they don't want, gets a first, and gets a player who (although he can be a problem at times) has a much higher future ceiling (and he's 7 years younger).</div></div>
not close to close, but closer nonetheless lol

Blockbuster trade 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Aero_Astro_Guy</b></div><div>I think the addition of Hartman, Parise and Hunt would help the sharks to contend next year. You got to get a solid goalie in addition to those moves. You also get a solid D prospect into the system. I forgot to cancel the salary retain of Kane and I am sorry for that misunderstanding.</div></div>
ok, that definitely makes the deal closer, but still way in favor of the Wild. Hartman, Hunt, and Belpido all don't have much value.

so we lose a power forward who can get close to a point per game and a 1st round pick for a forward getting paid over 7.5 million into his 40s who hasn't gotten a point per game for 10 seasons?!
AND we retain 50%?!!
no way

I'd rather Zboril be swapped w/ a better forward prospect but I'd consider this in the ballpark of fair

Can't the Sharks just spend 6m on a winger, and keep their picks? Of course with Burns, you don't have a 6m to spend.</div></div>
He's still a solid contributor though.
Gambrell is a young, middle 6 center and a 2nd in a draft that's expected to be great carries a lot of value.
We could, but they wouldn't be as good as Olofsson or Reinhart.

Gregor definitely has value. Around a point per game in the AHL at 22. Could be a solid middle 6 winger in a season or two.
Simek is good as well. Can play anywhere in the lineup and is very good defensively.

Caps need to be creative
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensonfire</b></div><div>If you look passed their top line, Sharks have virtually no depth in their forward group whatsoever.
Hagelin is a seasoned playoff vet who could help the sharks reach the playoffs this season and is on a somewhat decent contract.
If his contract ever becomes an issue, the Sharks can always buy him out.
Also, the Sharks move up 20 spots in the draft, give or take.
Sharks accept :)</div></div>
lol no way
Sharks have many players that are as good as Hagelin that are younger and cheaper
