Time to Go - Kevy
Domi probably stays in Toronto and Stamkos isn't signing in Buffalo.
The Sabres need some mean dmen and some mid/bottom sixers who are tough to play against, far too soft of a lineup.

Point taken. Even at $5.7M (or even $6M), I'd take him to help change the culture in Buffalo.

Sabres In House Future
Really feel like mittelstadt ends up pricing himself out of buffalo.
His career has done quite the 180 but this feels closer to a huberdeau thing than a tage thing if that makes sense. He's unquestionably good now but Im not sure his true impact is worth 7 mil. If they miss this year there will be tons of pressure to do something in goal and that would likely require a contract going out either in that deal or elsewhere.

Competitive Sabres Roster Attempt 1
I can see something very similar happening this off season. Marchment's a pretty gutty left-winger with size and good scoring acumen. Gudbranson's a big righty that plays with edge, and Campbell at that price might suffice although I think they go cheaper, er more "efficient and economical" (but probably much less effective.)
Am assuming UPL is in the AHL?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RoyalBlueSabres</b></div><div>Is Marchment worth having Quinn in the box?
I'd say no but others would say yes. So I guess it depends on what aisle you're in.
To me I would rather be in the same boat as this past year with the development of Quinn peterka and power. Than getting some ufas even if to start they would be more quality.</div></div>
Good Hockey teams don't stop bringing in talent because there afraid to block a prospect. If the prospect is good enough they will find a spot. It just gives you more usable assets or trade chips.

The marchment idea is intriguing, I suspect you may find yourself in a bidding war. Nobody ever says "we need to be smaller and less aggressive", plus his offensive numbers from last season are pretty nice. I haven't seen anything but speculation, but I thought the ufa right d we were gonna pursue was gonna be pk subban. You have peterka on line 4 and Quinn in the press box, but I don't see it as a big problem because it will be short term- there will be injuries and slumps, hopefully when they are given their chance they kick the door down.

Pretty realistic, your not blocking any prospects because they will all be ready to go. Pretty close to what Evolving Hockey has with contracts.

Sabres Islanders Mayfield Trade
Boy that's an awful lot. Even if there was more term that's a lot. For all of the tim Murray haters out there, this is a Tim Murray trade. I don't hate Tim Murray, you have to have a plan, and if you see a difference maker, don't be afraid to go get them. Unfortunately, you will be crucified if those moves don't work. Is Mayfield that piece that complements the other pieces on d to make us much better in our own end? Would he be willing to stay? Not to go too far off on a tangent, but I firmly believe we don't have a #1 center, and you bump your head on the ceiling pretty quick without one. I think I would see where I'm drafting before really considering this. We aren't going anywhere next season, not in our division.

I like Mayfield a lot but that's any overpay by BUF considering where they will be drafting this year. In addition to the system in NY that he plays in under Trotz.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kingcong3930</b></div><div>Why regarding not signing Zadorov as an LHD? They don't have a defenseman that plays like him, and one or both of Samuelsson and Johnson are going to be moved to RHD. That's not counting if they draft Nemec or Jiricek.
I think the only way any forward signs is if they get an extra year, plus the high AAV of course.
The cap limit will be $84.5M in 2 seasons, at least.</div></div>
Because I was assuming next year we would have Dahls, Power, Sammuellson (that's my Zadorov comp), Bryson, and Johnsontrying in camp. First three probably make it. Id sign Zadorov over Gubrandson though as the RD.

Big pass from Carolina.
Morrow is one of the best prospects in the league. Mitts has struggled in the NHL. I'd be more than willing to take a flier on him. But at this price? No. Morrow has been a deal breaker for Chychrun, Eichel.... he's developing at BC at the same rate as Cale Makar did.

I love Olofsson more than most but I can’t see how New York can afford him after this season (him for Nils is only fair if it’s not a rental). Moreover, a majority of his production is on the power play and the Rangers need even strength reinforcements

Mock Buffalo Sabres 22-23 Roster
Well Quinn for sure should make the roster. Peterka probably could have this season so next year he will also be up in all likelihood. Krebs should be playing in the top 9 if he makes the team, not a scratch that's for sure. There isn't a lot of room in the roster as it is for him so that probably means dealing one of our young players (not prospects) for a RHD that can play top 4

Funny how watching Hinostroza has been less impressive then his point totals.</div></div> I tend to agree, he is not flashy, he just knows how to play.
He knows where to go to help the play, he is a smart hockey player.
As I said, I was surprised that he and Anderson chose Buffalo.
I was hoping the Sabres would have signed Pysyk last year, but now Karmanos is Associate GM and things are looking up.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kingcong3930</b></div><div>I'm missing which 2 players you're talking about above regarding your point production comments.</div></div> Hinostroza and Eakin 0.5pts/gm and 0.333pts/gm respectively.
Hinostroza also was a good producer during his 17 games with the Hawks last year scoring 4 goals and 8 assists.
I think he signed with Buffalo because Granato was the Hawks assistant coach during the '17-'18 season.
Since the Hawks made moves to compete this year, I was surprised that they let him go.
Kane is the only Hawk RW who has more points than Vinnie this year.
Buffalo made much better UFA signings than they did last year.
I was happy with Pysyk, Hinostroza, Anderson for the Sabres as well as Mark Jankowski, Michael Mersch, Ethan Prow and Jimmy Schuldt for Rochester.
