Kind of nit picking here, but you've already got players like Krebs, Quinn, etc under contract. Scroll down to the Minors section and drag them up instead of creating new players. Their cap hits are different, albeit not by much

Not sure how you'd pry Letang and Campbell away from their respective teams; I think they both sign where they are

Caps probably don't go for Caggiula. Value here isn't a big concern, however I think they would be more likely to try rookies that got time this year (Protas, AJF, Leason) in full time roles instead of acquiring new players.

Only by overpaying.

Hoping the Leafs cap situation and them having just signed Mrazek gives Buffalo the opportunity to sign Campbell.

I don't necessarily think Washington would trade for Caggiula at this year's trade deadline.

I just looked for a team with a ton of picks and guessed that Caggiula would be worth a 5th round pick.

Gotcha. Value seems right then.

Oilers decline. They have 3 better RHD already under contract next season, they aren't spending assets on a 4th guy.

It's for this current season, as I outlined in the Team Explanation section.

Also, I'm not saying it would necessarily be the Oilers that would make that trade by this season's trade deadline.

It's just a guess as to Miller's trade value at 50% retained by the Sabres.

No thanks from Winnipeg on Eakins. He didn’t want to be there the last time we had him!

Miller has been around for a while and everyone knows that he can't defend. I doubt he brings those picks but I'm certain that the Oilers aren't interested.

In addition, he wasn't very good when he was with the Jets or since. That said, maybe some other team picks him up as a 4th line depth guy for the playoffs.

Nice job!
You did a good job on not expecting too high of a return at the TDL.
It would be a great TDL if Buffalo could do this well.
Signing Campbell is certainly a possibility, I do not think Letang will leave Pittsburgh.
I find it curious that nearly every Sabre ACFM values a player scoring at 0.5 pts/gm lower than a player who had a horrible 2020-'21 and is averaging 0.33pts/gm.
I have had this discussion but only 161 players are scoring at a faster pace, that makes him a solid 2nd line producer.
I should mention, that most comments from non Sabre ACGM think as you that he will not return much.
So your value is the expected return but IMO he is worth more, maybe Karmanos can convince another GM to offer more.

He may not. It was only a guess based on how well he's played so far this season.

What you said was the point in just guesstimating his trade value. A 4th round pick made sense, and the Sabres can retain if needed as well.

I'm missing which 2 players you're talking about above regarding your point production comments.

Hinostroza and Eakin 0.5pts/gm and 0.333pts/gm respectively.
Hinostroza also was a good producer during his 17 games with the Hawks last year scoring 4 goals and 8 assists.
I think he signed with Buffalo because Granato was the Hawks assistant coach during the '17-'18 season.
Since the Hawks made moves to compete this year, I was surprised that they let him go.
Kane is the only Hawk RW who has more points than Vinnie this year.
Buffalo made much better UFA signings than they did last year.
I was happy with Pysyk, Hinostroza, Anderson for the Sabres as well as Mark Jankowski, Michael Mersch, Ethan Prow and Jimmy Schuldt for Rochester.

When you're right you're right, and you're right about Hinostroza compared to Eakin.

Funny how watching Hinostroza has been less impressive then his point totals.

I tend to agree, he is not flashy, he just knows how to play.
He knows where to go to help the play, he is a smart hockey player.
As I said, I was surprised that he and Anderson chose Buffalo.
I was hoping the Sabres would have signed Pysyk last year, but now Karmanos is Associate GM and things are looking up.

Well Quinn for sure should make the roster. Peterka probably could have this season so next year he will also be up in all likelihood. Krebs should be playing in the top 9 if he makes the team, not a scratch that's for sure. There isn't a lot of room in the roster as it is for him so that probably means dealing one of our young players (not prospects) for a RHD that can play top 4
