2020-21 Lines Roster Taxi Squad
Yeah from training camp rosters and what I've seen Sheldon Keefe saying this is pretty much what he wants his team to look like for the beginning of the year. Im really excited for that 3rd line to play together, a bunch of high energy guys. Also ik ur doing 5 taxi members vs 6 but id think the Leafs would use the extra spot for another 6-man like Marincin.

I got a better idea we turn the calendar back to November 9th 2020 and sign:
Vesey over Girgensons and save $1,300,000
Larsson over Eakin and save $850,000
Kahun over Duclair and save $1,100,000
Pysyk over Rieder negative cap by $50,000
This creates an extra $3,200,000 of cap space.
Skinner Eichel Thompson
Hall Staal Olofsson
Kahun Cozens Reinhart
Vesey Larsson Okposo. Vesey was one of the Ranger's PK forwards.
You all can laugh at me but Vesey will take Kapanen's spot on the PK in Toronto and will have twice as many goals as Girgensons at the end of the season.
Larsson will have nearly as many pts as Eakin with a much better +/-.
Kahun will get exceed 40 pts playing for the oilers and the end of the season will have more pts and goals than Duclair.
Pysyk will have at least double the goals and pts as Rieder playing the RW (he scored a hat trick at RW last year) and he could slip into RHD if there were injuries.
That is my rant of the day.</div></div>
Yeah I was shocked they didn't sign Kahun, it freaking baffled me, but I guess he was willing to take less money for the opportunity to play with his good buddy Draisaitl.

Well he played centre for the Isles until they got Pageau and he was pretty solid so I just thought he'd be decent for SJ, but I also didn't know about those Isles rumours.

They probably won’t sign Duclair because they already said Cozens is starting off at RW, and Thompson has a lot of experience at LW. If I had to guess.

Oh I didn't know they came out and said Cozens would play RW in 2021, if thats the case id still sign Duclair because I think they need more talent in the bottom 6.

Well for me Miller is below average, Montour is solid if unspectacular at times, and Risto is a poor at actually playing defence (tho he has improved on that end over the last two years). Dahlin is pretty great, and I think Jokiharju has top 4 talent, but I do this the D is at best average (probably #23-16)

1. Didn't know that Pilut was playing in the KHL ill adjust for that then and put Irwin in his spot
2. I only put Rieder there over Okposo for the PK strength that Rieder has.
3. Duclair is a talented forward his biggest issue over his career has been sustained success.

Tbh for the Rangers specifically as a team I think they need a defensive oriented 2nd line centre and I could see Johansson being the target if Nashville retained salary. And if he played with Panarin his potential scoring can go back to the high 60s, maybe mid 70s again.

The dcore got better but goaltending is still a big IF and thats concerning for a team who has trouble keeping the puck out of the net.</div></div>
Yeah I read that their division could potentially have Tampa, St.Louis, Carolina, Columbus, and Nashville all probable/potential playoff teams. The only teams they will probably be better than in their potential division would be Chicago and Detroit.

You can stop with the Killorn for free right there.
LA a rebuilding team has no need for a 31 year old winger.
TB has to add a 1st, and LA isn't giving up a draft pick.
a C grade prospect isn't going to change that.</div></div>
Im not gonna re-explain my reasoning for Killorn, I think he's a good pickup for a team with a lot of young guys coming up for the duration of his term.

Get Johnson and Cernak from Tampa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dpdan</b></div><div>As a Wings fan would like this deal? What does it do to their long term plans?</div></div>
Well if the Wings got Johnson they would have 41 million in cap space (including Johnson's 5mil cap hit) with Hronek, Bertuzzi, and Lindstrom being the big RFA's and no big UFAs coming off (unless u consider Bernier to be that). Im not all to familiar with Detroit's prospect poll as I am with other teams except Raymond, Lindstrom and Seider who I would all expect to be on the 2022 roster. So without signing or resigning anybody the roster would have 8 forwards, 3 d-men, and 1 goalie and thats also without losing a player to expansion. Realistically tho you could acquire Johnson and then leave him exposed in the SEA draft and they may choose him.

Its a way to bridge the amount of prospects that are gonna be brought in so nobody's rushed just cuz we need to fill roster space, while also giving the team a veteran who has been around for a bit and can help the growth of the young core. Everybody thinks that u can just pencil rookies anywhere, but some need time as well as good mentors and strong two-way defensive forwards.

Get Johnson and Cernak from Tampa

Either way I want SOMETHING to happen soon</div></div>
THANK YOU somebody gets it, jeez everyone thinks I'm throwing Cernak in here like he's just some meh piece and don't understand the desperate state Tampa Bay is in. If I were NJ I'd do a trade for Johnson (obviously if he agrees to go there) if Cernak is involved.

Yes but the Lightning are completely desperate, to clear salary and since nobody will take Johnson a real good sweetner needs to be added and thats Cernak. Now maybe Tampa doesn't send a pick, thats my mistake maybe NJ sends one.

I get that it's just hard to gauge value, since Johnson has 4 years remaining, so NJ needs Tampa Bay to really offer something substantial since they're both taking on a bad contract and helping out the Lightning with their cap issues. Also I know Cernak is important for Tampa but the amount of money they'll need to clear to sign both Cernak and Cirelli will be hard to do, and with Cal Foote on his way up, he can be the piece that makes trading away a bad contract in Johnson work.
